A1 cont b/c you can see their work as they progress, I can intervene at any time. I can see what common errors/issues there are and address them whole class or in small groups #2ndaryELA
A1: I created a digital table of contents using Google Sheets to keep my students organized and to help with absences. https://t.co/VidNNvl7ST#2ndaryELA
A1: I use Google apps for everything! I use Google Classroom everyday, Docs for amazing feedback, Slides for collaboration, Forms and Sheets, Drawing for graphics, and Keep for organization #2ndaryELA
A1: Interactive Google documents have changed how collaborative the writing, editing, and revising process can be. Kids can truly work together on a document now in a way that they couldn't before. #2ndaryela
A1: Google Classroom for everything! Site for my class website. Google Slides to have students collaborate on projects. I've been relying on Docs for writing instruction. Nifty extensions like kizena have allowed my to provide voice feedback on my students' writing. #2ndaryela
A1: My students usually take their weekly vocab quizzes through Forms. I post links to assignments on other platforms. I also upload electronic copies of most handouts under the "About" tab. In the past, I've had students work collaboratively in Slides. #2ndaryela
A1. I use Google Classroom ALL THE TIME. I find it so efficient for group work, especially shared slides for reciprocal teaching. I also use it to post homework and formatively assess. #2ndaryELA
A1 (b): Add-ons and Extensions are actual super powers!
Faves include: Checkmark for feedback
Draftback
EasyBib
Keep

A1 (again): For me personally, it's so easy to create multilayered Google forms that work as trackers as I meet with teachers and students and jot down notes to remember, things to revisit, etc. Great for preserving things for my frantic brain! #2ndaryela
A1. My school will use Google Classroom next year. We currently use Schoology where I post all materials, tests and quizzes that students need. #2ndaryELA
A2: I use the Google Extension Print Friendly and PDF to save internet articles. This has saved my printer paper and photocopy budget. See how I use it https://t.co/gAJZYLcxkE#2ndaryELA
A2: I like Forms. I've used them primarily for quizzes, but also for polls. I also use them to gather feedback on the students on my caseload for when I'm writing IEPs. #2ndaryela
I use Docs and Classroom the most, and my students are using Slides the most to present info to one another. I like Forms, and want to use it to assess, but haven't tried it yet. #2ndaryELA
A2: My favorites are Google Forms, Slides and Docs. I am interested in taking the Google certification course in order to get to know all of the extensions better. #2ndaryELA
A2: While I really love using Slides to create hyperdocs, I find I use Forms most frequently! Tests, surveys, etc. are so easy to grade and/or review! #2ndaryELA
A2: Google Slides! Have each student or group of students research or read about one particular topic and then work as a class to collaborate on a lesson. Recently, I pretended my symbolism lesson went missing, and students collaborated to create a slide per symbol. #2ndaryela
A1: I love Google apps! I use Forms for semester surveys & collecting quick data or media presentations (like links to podcasts Ss have made). And of course Docs, etc. for all my resources #2ndaryela
A2 Hyerdocs are a big portion of my curriculum! It's not an extension, but it helps with Hyerdocs. The EasyBib extension is great during research! #2ndaryela
A3 Google Docs make peer revising and editing more effective. There's something less offensive about a comment on your Doc than red pen on your paper #2ndaryELA
A3: Students are able to be more organized because they can do their work online and submit it. No more lost papers. I also tried Online Book Clubs and it was a fun way to get kids to interact online. https://t.co/OSsVk6W1bC#2ndaryELA
A2: I’ve loved playing with some extensions. My only concern with extensions is that they need to fall in line with the school’s/board’s/gov’t’s privacy laws/policies. #2ndaryela
A2: app or extension-not sure-screencastify is lit. Record book groups, narrative feedback, interviews, book response, movie, podcast @Screencastify#2ndaryELA
A2: I love Slides for HyperDocs and interactive notebooks. I also can't imagine not teaching with Classroom - it has transformed everything! I train teachers now in Google and would love to help anyone here who might need it! #2ndaryELA
A2: We have Schoology & I'm really digging the Google integration to hmwk. I also will use live links instead of attachments for Docs like my daily agenda so students always see updated info #2ndaryela
A3: It is much easier for them to collaborate on assignments because of the share and edit feature on everything. I can even add comments to their docs as they are working in order to give them feedback. #2ndaryELA
A3: The ability for multiple students to work on the same assignment simultaneously has allowed for more group projects because they can work on it from any device, anywhere, with an internet connection. And I love the real-time feedback. #2ndaryela
A3: Ss really enjoy being able to collaborate in real time on a project, go at their own pace (hyperdocs, for ex.), and to have meaningful conversations about their learning. #2ndaryela
A3 Google Apps pull student learning and collaboration outside of the classroom! Conversations and collaboration continue when the bell rings! #2ndaryela
Google Apps have broken down the walls of the classroom by expanding the learning wherever they are. Students can participate in lessons anytime or anywhere with their devices. During my formal evaluation, I had a student collaborating and working with me from home. #2ndaryela
A3: I love setting up groups through Classroom and having students collaborate on a project. Classroom allows you to share a particular Slide or Doc template to selected groups. My favorite thing is seeing the feedback they give to each other! #2ndaryela
A3: In most group assignments, there are a limited number of real, robust "jobs"--someone always ends up as, like...the timekeeper. Ha. But with an interactive document everyone can actually actively work at once--and give in-the-moment feedback to each other. #2ndaryela
Also, absent students simply go to the About section, click on the day’s slideshow, and have access to any links/materials we cover. Fosters ownership and responsibility. #2ndaryela
A4: I've just discovered Keep & have been using it a lot personally. Wondering if my Ss would also find it useful. I also know I'm not tapping into the power of Ad-Ons enough! #2ndaryela
Students work on the same assignments - collaborate in ways we couldn't have before Google. They also share their Docs with each other for peer review. Love when they don't need me to tell them to share. #2ndaryELA
A4: I'd love to try using hyperdocs! I'm interesting in the idea of personalizing the learning process and allowing students to work at their own pace! #2ndaryela
You can also share a Google Keep note with your students. So, if you want to share success criteria or due dates, Ss can check things off on their own copy. #2ndaryELA
A4: I'd love to have students use Google Sites to create their own writing portfolios that they carry with them from 9th grade on. What an amazing way to amass a body of work throughout high school! #2ndaryela
Ooh, or even a personalized to-do list for the period. Often my low-level sophomores are at 4 or 5 totally different points in the writing process on any given workshop day! #2ndaryela
A4: I've been dabbling with Apps Scripts for almost a year and not getting where I want to be fast enough... Really requires me to put on my growth mindset hat! #2ndaryELA
A5: Just the fact that the materials are created and easily shared & edited saves me time year to year. I can find my materials faster, thanks to the folders I've organized everything into, and I can easily modify and reuse the materials #2ndaryela
A5 For reviews, I have students work together on Slides to make a review. We create questions together that they need to know and then they collaboratively answer the questions in slides. It serves two purposes. #2ndaryela
A5 Honestly, I can't think of just one! Classroom integrates amazingly with the other Google apps! Google Keep is new for me, and I like the features! #2ndaryela
A5b: Classroom gives me control & access to the papers & an electronic copy of them all, which has helped me quickly catch plagiarism in the past (2 Ss from separate sections turning in the same paper) #2ndaryela
A5: Digital feedback - I keep a repository of comments with links to resources and then use Checkmark and Google Keep to put them into papers. #2ndaryELA
A5: I love Kizena for providing feedback through voice memos on writing assignments. Screencastify has allowed me to make screencast videos of a process that I know students will need help with, i.e. Works Cited pages, MLA format, etc. #2ndaryela
A4: I'd love to have students use Google Sites to create their own writing portfolios that they carry with them from 9th grade on. What an amazing way to amass a body of work throughout high school! #2ndaryela
A5: when assigning a project, Ss instantly receive their own copy of the task and the rubric as well as access to any resources they need to be successful. Much less paper lost/left at home/in another binder. #2ndaryELA
Thanks, everyone and thanks for hosting, @literarymaven and @2peasandadog! Love this learning community - can’t wait to put some of these ideas into action. #2ndaryela
