A1Before conducting obs. focus on wh th T asked 4 feedback on. This show respect 4 T, doesn't mean u can't obs. other T&S behaviors #admin2b

A4. Ask a teacher 4 their students' favorite lessons or when their students struggle most. Teachers must find ways to become aware. #admin2b
  • HarveyAlvy1 Nov 6 @ 8:34 PM EST
Post-obs. conferences r also critical, ask T what he/she thought of the lesson. A key is discussing decision-making. Be positive. #admin2b

    A3. I scripted-taped, based on wh T asked me to look 4. Also wrote three key points to obs: 1. objective, 2. T strategies, & S work.#admin2b
  • mexusmx Nov 6 @ 8:40 PM EST
Got it. Love the idea of giving T opportunity to contextualize the observation. #admin2B
    • DrBody4Life Nov 6 @ 8:36 PM EST
Pt. 3: “How do you think it went?” at the start of our debriefing...just feels like a set up. I never liked it, so I don’t do it to others.

  • HarveyAlvy1 Nov 6 @ 8:42 PM EST
A3 On the 3 key points I looked for: 1. objective 2. How did the T carry out the obj. 3. What S work indicated the obj. was met. #admin2b
  • HarveyAlvy1 Nov 6 @ 8:43 PM EST
A2. I did get a little subjective. Observed: r teachers enhancing enthusiasm? Is there a love of students? Can the T "read" students?#admin2b
  • HarveyAlvy1 Nov 6 @ 8:45 PM EST
A3 While script taping it is critical to walk around the room, checkout student work. Be positive. #admin2b
  • HarveyAlvy1 Nov 6 @ 8:47 PM EST
A tip.1 reason it is important to have non-eval walk thrus is so when observations occur, P's not a stranger, so obs. r authentic. #admin2b

A4. Great Q Post-obs should occur 1 to 2 days after obs. Ask T what they thought of lesson. concentrate on agreed areas in advance.#admin2b
  • HarveyAlvy1 Nov 6 @ 8:52 PM EST
A4. Critical to ask about decision-making. What worked? What would u do differently? Recommend resources, books, articles, other T #admin2b
  • mexusmx Nov 6 @ 8:53 PM EST

A5 Find the common ground, i.e., heart--what do we both want (student achievement) & what are we seeing vs not seeing to achieve it #admin2b
  • HarveyAlvy1 Nov 6 @ 8:57 PM EST
Q5. Culture is critical. Does th T feel th P can be trusted? Need to remind T that we have mutual goals: S success and your success.#admin2b
  • PegGrafwallner Nov 6 @ 8:59 PM EST
A5 T success = P success. As SPED P, I often wanted T to listen to my perspective & give me face time. I wanted to be a partner #admin2b
