A1: As a first year AP, excited to be able to collaborate with multiple contents to show how good instruction can cross curriculum
Hoping to build by PL-network and I work with a variety of PLC's
A1 Excited to be focusing on skills more than content so that everyone can collaborate with kids as focus. https://t.co/cnA9jVCKih
Working more closely with instructional facilitators in areas of curriculum n tier 1 instruction.
Really nothing finer than this. Without a strong learning culture we have little to go on. https://t.co/Ywspo3WtXR
A1: As a first year AP, excited to be able to collaborate with multiple contents to show how good instruction can cross curriculum
A1: as a first year AP Econ teacher, I hope to make connections with other Ts to enhance my learning as well as Ss.
A1 Excited to increase focus on "will" as well as "skill" this year by weekly circle around early warning indicators
A1: excited to grow as a future admin, PLC, and PD roles.
Content areas may differ, goals of strong learning for all are the same.
Q2 Grade level common planning time with multiple content areas, "late start" once a month. Need more. https://t.co/wgEbFLbb5I
A1 I am really interesting in exploring the collaborative relationship between PLC and assessment. Each necessary for the other
A2: frequent meetings in my PLC group, as well as weekly scheduled Twitter chats to collaborate and enchanted my own learning.
A2 flex mod scheduling and prioritizing PLCs for all groups-Ts, counselors, media , and admin. Plc is not an option at HSD
Really like this! We use common plans for shared content. For multi-content, we're gathering for weekly plan PLC's too.
A2: Unfortunately not a whole lot of common planning time for content teams. Need to make it a priority
we are trying to revamp our PLC time and bring it back to its originality, any suggestions?
Moving out into the network on Twitter can be very inspiring as well. Hearing others PLC journey motivates.
many of our Ts also have a shared lunch. Food always helps bring out collaboration and discussion.
exactly. I'm looking for stories as well as tips and literature to help revamp ours.
Our first step, we started with 2 content teams...then built from there using them as models
Sharp focus on learning is critical, especially indicators of success - classroom assessment results crucial
Our teachers collaborate at lunch, too, but it isn't as formal.
Q3: “You’re not big enough to work independently of others” How this belief works for u and ur team? https://t.co/4rXFsJISPG
A3 We need to realize that all members of the team are vital for the success of every student. https://t.co/cFQ06sfw8U
Q3: “You’re not big enough to work independently of others” How this belief works for u and ur team? https://t.co/4rXFsJISPG
I'm not always big on formality but big on focus. Never enough time, need to focus on the right work.
A3: everyone needs a support system to help make them better. These individuals push them and help educate them.
And sometimes the less formal conversations provide the best solutions.
BAMMM Clear indicators of learning, or lack of learning is needed to adjust learning. https://t.co/djaCwNLp6O
surprising and frustrating how many people don't see the value of assessment in PLCs. It's a must have
because there's less stress involved. Allows for more "free thinking"
The longer I'm in education, the more I realize I can't do it alone...I've scheduled weekly mtgs with teachers and students
As a veteran of many years the support system has increased in importance to me. Collab is so necessary. https://t.co/ZRUHNEysQw
A3: everyone needs a support system to help make them better. These individuals push them and help educate them.
A3 Knowing that research doesn't support working alone. Sharing that belief and building n sustaining trust
A healthy PLC will allow us to play off of each other's strengths. Like an Educational Capt. Planet. https://t.co/hzdwrRAZ8q
Q3: “You’re not big enough to work independently of others” How this belief works for u and ur team? https://t.co/4rXFsJISPG
it helps you know that you're not alone in that subject. I am huge on collaboration and support for fellow Ts.
A3: Collaboration and communication need to be non-negotiables. We expect it out of our Ss, must do the same with our Ts
Really, I do not know how you can have a long career in Ed without collab. I would have been gone long ago without it.
Q4: How are you collaborating teamwork, sharing, and continuous interest in each other's growth..? https://t.co/DrwC2hKdWI
There is wisdom flowing both ways. Often what is good for struggling learners is good for Tier 1 instruction.
Thanks for the chat tonight. Catch u next week!
A4: Offered up to my staff Risk Taking Observations, which are non evaluative, purely for feedback for when Ts try new things
A4: Struggling with and answer, because I do not think there is an easy answer except intentionality. It has to be planned or lost.
A5: I feel like I'm finding continuous growth by connecting with other awesome educators via Twitter chats
Oops. My last tweet was for Q4 :-)
