A1 #kindness for #oneword seems to be the theme of 2018 & data driven for goal; had PD yesterday about it; Ts at my school showed off awesome ways to keep data-made me feel like a slacker #ecechat
A1: My #oneword is GRIT: the power of passion and perseverance! With so many changes in my life professionally & personally there is no doubt #GRIT is my perfect word for 2018! @angeladuckw#ECEchat
A1- Iām so excited! Iāve waited patiently for my #OneWord to come to me, and when it did...it was like BAM! My word is CALM. Lifeās been too busy, & I need to find the calm again. #ECEchat
Q1: This year Iām focused on āintentionā and being clear/making sure Iām intentional about what I do in and out of the classroom, and that thereās purpose in it all. #ECEchat
#perseverance I chose this because I am working hard to do my best for all of the important people in my life. And I am in my last semester to achieve my Masters Degree! #ecechat
A2: Goal setting is important because it gives us something to strive for! Both short term and long term goals help me reach goals that I want to meet every year! #ecechat
A2: Goal setting is important because it sets expectations and achieving them is the best feeling! Goal setting is also such a great thing to do with students as well. Start small and go slow to go fast! #ecechat
A2 Goals give us a starting line; the path that gets us to the end may not be what we imagined, but at least we traveled it. Robert Frost reference in there for ya'll š #ecechat
A2 When goal setting I think through the steps I need to take, resources needed, & map it out on a calendar. I even set check-in reminders on my phone. #ECEchat
A1. This has been a tough one to decide, but at the moment my one word is Strategize. Focusing my energy where it matters. Letting go of things where it doesn't. Challenge with letting go - I am not one to give up... Especially when Ss are involved. #ECEChat
A2: I think goal setting is one way we can hold ourselves accountable. I like to reflect on how I spent my time and consider: did I get the results I wanted? what do I still need to do? what do I need to stop doing? #ECEChat
A2. I have realised that the saying: Fail to plan is a plan to fail is accurate. Goal setting means my #focus remains in my mind and keeps me on track!! #ECEChat#AussieTeachers#PreServiceTeacher
A2: goal setting (both long and short) gives us purpose. I strive to set personal and professional goals that will help me grow and that are reachable with hard work and GRIT #ECEchat
A2: Goals keep us on track to help find the motivation we need to keep on keeping on. I discuss goals with co-teacher, grade level team and director at least 1X monthly. Sharing is caring and accountability. #ecechat
A2 goal setting is important for me because I like to feel focused and have a vision that motivates me. I set these goals after self reflection / realization
#ECEChat
A2. I try not to make a goal to improve or be better at something, but instead of how to include more of what I enjoy into my work to be successful. This makes goals more fun and attainable #ECEchat
A2 - Without setting goals - weāre just going through the motions. Goals drive us to learn, grow, and achieve. I dig into my passions, find my weaknesses, and set practical mile-markers to hit on the way from point A to B #ECEChat
A3. I'm calling my documentation wall featuring our outdoor discoveries a failure and switching to a book format - making it more accessible to students while also allowing to add the next dimension of being able to revisit discoveries and add Ss new ideas #ECEChat
#ecechat A1: My #oneword is "Peace" I chose it because there is just so much in this world is completely out of my control and I need to be a peace that everything will turn out the way it was meant to.
A3:I just completed the Seesaw ambassador trainings, Iāve done some PD and PLC reading and hope to continue implementing more technology into the classroom to enhance lessons and help others out #ECEchat
Q2: Goal setting helps me develop an action plan. Same principle we employ in our classroom...begin with the end in mind. Key to achieving my goals is making them public and keeping myself accountable. #ECEchat
Q3. Restorative Relationships-Having circle time to build relationships with my students and using mood meters to find out where our students are at. šš¤ā¹ļøš”#ECEchat
A3 Read about a principle that drastically changed an inner city school by blocking subjects at the same time so every Ss could learn at their level; includes going to diff. classes and Ts. Want to try something like it w/ our Ss. This yr levels range super low/high #ecechat
#ecechat A2: Goal-setting gives you small, measurable steps to get to the bigger goal. For example, I want my preschoolers to be able to write their names by the end of the year. We start by putting the letters in order, then tracing, then connecting the dots, then by themselves
A3. This fall I learned there are A LOT of awesome teachers and programs throughout MN engaging in outdoor learning with PreK-3rd grade Ss. I'm excited to continue to connect & collaborate with them this winter thru the MN Early Childhood Outdoor Learning Network. #ECEChat
A3: Iāve been learning more about The SAMR and critical thinking. Iām excited about using these strategies across the curriculum using new techniques learned in these PDs #Ecechat
A3 I will incorporate deeper STEM activities with new sensory table supplies that are so simple to acquire yet more meaningful: different sponges, duck tape, gift wrap tubes, etc #ecechat
A3: Being more intentional about our monthly parent meetings &designing them around a theme that will (hopefullyš¤š½)create more dialogue vs. just me answering Qās & giving updates. Working on one re: adverse childhood experiences #ECEChat
Q4: What is a New Year goal you have for your class for the remainder of the school year & how will you lead your class/students in achieving this goal? #ECEchat
A4: My goal for my class is to teach them everything to the upmost of my ability. And, to love them. Let every single student know that they are loved and cared for every single day. #ECEchat

RT Q4: What is a New Year goal you have for your class for the remainder of the school year & how will you lead your class/students in achieving this goal? #ECEchat
A4. Tackle the impossible! I want my Ss to continue to see obstacles as a challenge, not a barrier. We're also going to try something new by connecting virtually with a high school class in another school district around Environmental Education/Outdoor Learning #ECEChat
A4: #ecechat My goal is to help my Ss learn to be kinder, more compassionate students, to be mindful of how their words and actions male those around them feel, good or bad, Bucket Filler. https://t.co/o4RrI0vwwm GoNoodle. Self-regulation lessons.
A4: Our goal is to continue pushing eachother forward with learning and excellence when challenges arise because we are confident learners ... also to maintain a growth mindset and exceed expectations #ECEchat
A4: Continue to differentiate to all needs and build relationships. Continue to teach social skills to help them to be the best students they can be. Students who can self regulate and problem solve are more successful learners. #ecechat
A4. Our class goal is to continue building relationships to bring us closer by following our PBIS #CHOMP and student empowerment using #learnlap strategies #ECEchat
A4 Planned & purposeful, data-driven small group instruction!! We are going to dig into this again on our next district professional development day! #ecechat
A4: A big one is tohelp build their SEL. They are making strides in using the language for eff. conflict resolution & problem solving. They also encourage & comfort each other now. I want this to continue. #ECEChat
Right back at you! :) I always learn so much in the process of sharing with others. And connecting outside my program/school/district keeps me in check with reality as well as future possibilities. #ECEchat
A4 New Year Goal to incorporate interactive technology opportunities with laptop, appleTV and a Google Home device that is meaningful to a 3 year old and goes BEYOND showing video clips #ECEchat
A4 continue showing my Ss how important and valued they are- providing choices so they become strong, vocal, independent, confident learners- continue SEL #ECEChat
A5. As someone who operates more on the fly versus taking time to write things down (I fail every year at actually using a calendar/planner), I prefer to make it part of my reflective thought process versus something more formal... #ECEchat
A5 It is important to show our Ss how to set/reach goals. We made a class promise (use a plastic crayon shape-all drop their picture in each morn) with @ConsciousD "to keep our classroom safe" They came up with the ways and now hold each other accountable AMAZING! #ecechat
A5. What is your one goal for today? This week? Break it down and focus on one major thing/takeaway you hope to accomplish. With my students, I ask what do you want to do/learn now/today? #ECEchat
A5. As someone who operates more on the fly versus taking time to write things down (I fail every year at actually using a calendar/planner), I prefer to make it part of my reflective thought process versus something more formal... #ECEchat
A5 W PreK Ss point out when you see them determined to do something. "I see you are really trying hard to climb the tree." Celebrate their successes. "You were really persistent. You didn't give up even when you slipped. All your attempts this week paid off, you did it!" #ECEChat
A5: currently my students have writing goals listed on my cabinets with dry erase marker when they master the skill they receive a snowball to turn in for free choice station or reward #ECEchat
I have a section in my personal planner that is blocked off for reflections of how you felt your months goals went, then I set a TON of reminders to actually set time aside to do this with a nice beverage, candles and no electronic distractions #ECEchat
A6: I want to learn more about an early ed software out there that does goal tracking if there is one. Iāve enjoy the ESGI system for data tracking now looking for student driven tool #ECEchat
A5: I have a goal setting folder we review data and set goals at least quarterly in. I also continue to teach and model #GrowthMindset in my classroom. #ECEchat
Mark your calendar for the next #ECEchat on January 23. It will be Edcamp style so bring your questions & be ready to connect & share with the PLN on 1/23 at 8:30pm CST.
