#WeirdEd A1 I have no idea yet, I got burned out badly this semester, normally I'd visit my classrooms after my semester ended but apparently not this time....
A1- as students share all the far and exotic places they will travel, i try to play up how i won't leave the state and never did when I was there age so the kid staying at home feels not quite as jealous #weirdEd
#WeirdEd Yeah, it's important to make sure the kids who can't travel aren't jealous of those who can. Some are happy to have time with their families at home tho

Q1: no class ritual, but this is the first year I'm having students design Kahoots on our unit, and I'm learning a lot from it- especially elemetns of my instruction that can be more clear- and we're having fun! #weirded

A2 We read The Wish Tree together which has winter themes but not Christmas. Itโs just a nice book with friendship & kindness themes, always good for this time of year in elementary. #weirded

#WeirdEd It's been super tough, my mentor t and I had wildly differing styles, and she was super busy so while I learned a lot, it wasn't something that would've allowed me to do well in edTPAs.... Wishing my best for this Spring placement

I like the structure of the school yr & also have a summer job to keep busy (and I love it). I get some "me time" but find that I do best when I keep a schedule and stay busy in social jobs #WeirdEd

#WeirdEd sorry my brain is on a roll now lol... another interesting tension of being a young/new (though not always!) teacher. Sometimes not having the same responsibilities/commitments that other older/veteran teachers can mean conflict of needs in relationships over break times

When I settle into vacation, my body realizes that it's okay to get sick and I won't need to write sub plans... Cue all the aches & fevers during my break. This happen to anyone else?! #WeirdEd
I feel like modern education doesnโt value little things, like classroom traditions. Just to have a fun week with my kids, I had to save up problem solving days, which are days you donโt have to teach the math curriculum. I saved up four just so we could have some fun #weirded

Two years in a row I got ferocious strep throat the last week of school. This time last year I had pneumonia. Edging my prof life away from elem school. #weirded
MY HEART IS SO FULL!!! Students sometimes write โsunshine momentsโ of their day/week that get put on a bulletin board. Yesterday, my classroom partner and i finished our first day of our math unit. And it was a lot of studentsโ โsunshine momentโ ๐๐ผ๐ญ๐

A4 - SO many positives. I work with mostly ELLs. One of the best things this year so far has been seeing their growth, watching them open up & show who they are. Watching them learn to love reading and writing. Learning from them. #weirded
#weirded A4 - Also just hugs, especially those from kids who often tune you out & seem to dislike you. When they come up real quick & hug you, itโs like you realize that you actually do mean something to them. Itโs a special feeling because they mean everything to me.
My dad and I create a reading bingo each year. Keeps it fun! I only finished about half this year. I think he got all 25 squares done. Must be nice to be retired! #weirded

#WeirdEd a4 again... I started my year book page in each classroom this week because these are my last days with these classes. We get new kids in January... It's bittersweet, but the things they are writing... I'm going to miss these ones
A4 Another positive - we spent ALL DAY today doing fun holiday activities & games that focused on community and building relationships. We took a break from rigorous academics to remember they are just kids :) #WeirdEd
