A1 - LOVED using Instagram with my MS students last year. Moving on to snapchat with my HS this year.
Anybody else find book fair to be exhausting?
A1-word of mouth. I tell two friends and they tell 2 friends and so on and so on 😄

A1. I'm a user of Google apps, especially slides and Docs
A1 Graphics! Photos, infographics, etc. We also have a logo that has done wonders for our image! https://t.co/bxgzsO36kr
What social media sites do you use?
oh my gosh, ME, TOO! I'm a total newbie to snapchat
A1-I started a HS Twitter and Instagram this summer to tell the story, too.
A1 send stats to principals every six weeks on how many classes were taught NOT how many books were checked out
A1 smore and animoto. Just bc we think it is small doesn't mean admin will think so or even know what we did.
Hi! . Ro, elementary librarian, to 500+ reading geniuses in Mesquite, TX.

A guy in our C&I dept did this for me!

A1 Fantastic idea! I put it in an easily digestible infographic to make sure it gets looked at...& appreciated
A1 Twitter, talking to parents about what we have to offer at all events. PTA is a huge supporter. &...paper cuz not all Ps use SM.
A1-we also have a hashtag to track
Canva is great, I also love PiktoChart
A2: Involving the community builds partners, support for tough times. It also helps Ss connect with community resources.
Instagram and snapchat....
A2 We have received offers of donations when the public sees how we impact student learning.
A2 - it helps expand what others think we do in the library. Updates their thinking

A2: I get a grant funded every yr thru the power of marketing! , , & -fiction texts so far.

Hey! Popping in late today. Karyn, MS librarian in Katy, TX
A1: Also, the old fashioned hallway is a great place to showcase what is going on in the library. Pikochart for end of year too
A3 It has really helped me have authentic convos w/ Ss about .
A3: People <3 libraries & their memories of them. While the library is very different today, we can use nostalgia to our benefit.
Time always a barrier - scheduling it helps!
A3 I think that everyone else is doing what I am doing, but that's often not the case. Need to be comfortable tooting my horn!
A3: Time is probably the biggest hindrance to fully marketing my program to its potential
A3: I learned that posting reminders about library offerings is very helpful and effective!
A2: marketing has made more people in the community aware of our library program and led to connections across the district
Yup - I tell people all of the time that we think it's mundane, but we are working miracles!!!
yes! yes! Yes! I post worksamples, book reviews, photos, you name it! In our main hallway and change them frequently!
A3: I have heard from some that tools w/ social media are blocked in their district but not our. Tackk was given as example.
So true; ppl always have a "library story" of their own!

Q1 parents love seeing pictures of their kids on the library Facebook page. They share the photo which promotes the library more
A3: I have loved blogging about our library. It has opened lots of teachers' eyes about what the librarian does/what kids do in lib
Q3 The only thing that has prevented me is sometimes time to sit and write my blog or not being able to share the photos I want.
I feel ya! I'm a 1 woman show for 40 librarians-sometimes I want to just be in charge of a library :)
A3 We live in a visually heavy world, sometimes I have to chose bween being fully present or doing photo op to share...
