Hi Rachael! So glad you could make time for tonight's ;)
If you follow the right people, it will be a continuos cycle of top quality CPD for free.
I've already found it very useful. And the positivity of the educators on Twitter is invaluable!
Totally agree! https://t.co/5YTmd0fBXz

A1 Twitter is a great tool for teachers seeking new ideas.
Agree! Love the supportive / non-judgemental ethos of educators on Twitter
Hi Simon, I'm keeping one eye on thread while the other preps for this week's staff meeting
Totally agree Sian. For those new to the idea, can you explain what a PLN is?
A1: Twitter offers superb CPD and great opportunity to connect. Had a impact on classroom practice and beyond
Sounds great! Any good examples you wish to share!
You're testing me now!!! 🤔 PLN I think means Professional Learning Network.
A2 think this is a hard one. Once you start it becomes addictive, and much to easy 4 procrastination :s
lots of great maths courtesy of 's shed! Plus Ideas for Sci investigations from
Set time limits so you don't get consumed - easy to become very engrossed. I do 3 lots of 30 mins per day + the odd chat.
Agree, can fast become addictive. I would recommend finding one or two chats that interest you at first!
loads of support and inspiration from team too as wellbeing is a key focus in our school.
Great advice Matt! I used to join a chat every night. Now I try to stick to Tuesday's only unless there's a good chat!
A2: Wait...you mean there are times people AREN'T on Twitter?
I try to do every week as well as this chat, then if the other chats fall in my half hour slots I chip in.
Spot on! Your PLN is your Personal/Professional Learning Network - those Tweeps you go to for inspiration/support
In fact, that's the staff meeting I'm preparing for tonight ! Introducing
Highly recommend ! Not just for primary teachers!!! https://t.co/cPamqa29xp

Thanks Simon! Had a great meeting with my Head today - taking shape nicely!
A3 haven't got very involved with global chats, although this one is! Any recommendations?
Q1: Twitter is an amazing space for teachers to support each other, provide hints & tips and share good practice. Love it!
Drastic but I feel the only way to deal with people who will not engage outside their own staffroom!
Highly recommend , and our parent chat
Totally agree!
So glad you could join us Samantha! https://t.co/gHWqCEJoSa

Thanks, will try these 😀.
Hangover from old job, I still know people... In all seriousness though, we should be encouraging T use in schools.
A4: around 8pm for me but depends on children's bedtimes!
When you have time/when you have something worth tweeting. The people that really follow you will always find your tweets
Which leads quite nicely into my next question :) It's almost as if you read my mind!
Great advice! https://t.co/myEBZPZMiN

Don't panic! Hopefully the answers to question 5 will help :)
Q5 Twitter can fast become addictive! How do you balance your time with the number of great chats available? https://t.co/6pS0fPDrJz
Need to get my HT to agree first!
Show them the impact - give them a global audience to showcase their skills
Pick your chats wisely, read the questions before hand if possible to see what interests you.
Good advice Jon! Choose one or two chats that really interest you and try to stick to these!
A2 yeah just a few but they are learning LOL!
A5: I struggle to keep up with all the chats on offer daily so just stick to a few favourites and dip in as and when can.
I choose ones that have biggest impact for my sch as well as ones that people I follow join in.
A5 I only know (*knew) of 1 or 2 chats. I only set my alarm for so far! , though not doing 2 bad 2nite :0
So glad that one of those chats is :)

Thanks my first chat was with recommended by a colleague at work. This was just a gate way …..
Again, follow the right people and whole host of shared resources become available. Summaries of DfE updates=invaluable.
