#CFISDchat is a weekly chat run by Cypress-Fairbanks ISD educators and guest moderators. Join us for discussion on various education topics and grow your #PLN!
Today is the day! We are excited about our chat tonight on teamwork and collaboration! Remember to invite your colleagues and friends. #CFISDchat@CyFairISD@CyFairJoel
A1: teamwork is working together to get something accomplished. Collaboration is when you all bring ideas to the table, all voices are heard and you create something magical! #CFISDChat
A1: The difference between team work and collaboration to me is the difference between listening to each other and actually HEARING each other. If we are truly collaborating I am opening to hearing NEW ideas and adjusting my thinking. #CFISDchat
A1 teamwork means everyone uniformally works to complete a goal— collaboration is taking different elements of strength from your teammates to create a better product #CFISDchat
A1: To me, teamwork may be an on or off again task. Collaboration is Individuals and teams working together for a common purpose. Something new is created through collaboration. #cfisdchat
A1: Teamwork could be working alongside each other doing separate tasks to get the job done. Collaboration is utilizing everyone's strengths to take a lesson from just ok to Epic!!! #CFISDchat
A1: It think it can be the same sometimes, but i do think teamwork is a group working towards the same goal, I can collaborate with others to achieve my goal without them having the same goal #CFISDchat
A1: I feel like teamwork is part of collaboration. Teams can work together without actually taking the time to collaborate with one another. #cfisdchat
A1 Collaboration is working together to plan a common goal. Teamwork is working together to execute the goal. And making sure to be there for each other during good and bad times. Being there for each other all the way until the end! 👋🏼 #cfisdchat
A1: Team work to me is working together to keep everyone in line. We all have parts that we need to do. Collaboration is working together to create a task. I feel like they go hand in hand. #CFISDchat
A1 #CFISDchat Teamwork is where individuals come together as a team to put together their individual pieces to get things done (kind of like a jigsaw puzzle). Collaboration is a give & take between people, sharing ideas, discussing options and opportunities, growing together.
A1 teamwork is working together to get something accomplished, collaboration is the flowing of ideas and truly being open & accepting of those ideas #CFISDchat
A1: Although they are similar, there is much closer communication during collaboration with everyone bringing ideas to the table, whereas teamwork can be simply dividing up tasks to accomplish. #cfisdchat
A1: Teamwork is working together to accomplish something. Collaboration is incorporating everyone's different ideas to create something AMAZING! #CFISDchat
A1 teamwork and collaboration go hand in hand. Collaborating people sharing ideas, solutions... Teamwork is a group of people working together #CFISDchat
A1: That's a hard one. I would say teamwork is when you work together towards a common goal that isn't necessarily yours. Collaboration is working together to create a goal that you own and are a part of. #CFISDchat
A1: teamwork is working together towards a common goal. Caring for one another and building off each others strengths. Collaboration makes it all happen! Generates ideas. #CFISDchat
A1: teamwork is everyone working toward accomplishing a task. Collaboration is an open-mindedness to learn, unlearn, and grow ideas to make the team better. #cfisdchat
Teamwork to me is how you work together, and when I think of collaboration, I think of being more aware of each others' strengths when working together. #cfisdchat
Today is the day! We are excited about our chat tonight on teamwork and collaboration! Remember to invite your colleagues and friends. #CFISDchat@CyFairISD@CyFairJoel
A1: The difference between teamwork and collaboration to me is that teamwork can be temporary, while collaboration is a continuous process that can change the culture of a school. #CFISDchat
A1: teamwork is working together(i.e. doing one part) to get a task done, whereas collaboration is coming together for a task or during planning, putting all of your ideas together to create an amazing end product! #CFISDchat
A1: Teamwork is where a group of people work together to achieve a common goal. Collaboration is where a group of people share ideas and strategies. #CFISDchat
Although they have the same outcomes, teamwork is each person taking on a individual task to accomplish a goal whereas collaboration is everyone working together to complete the goal #cfisdchat
A1- Teamwork is working together to achieve a goal, even if the individuals have separate tasks to achieve the goal. Collaboration is working together, feeding off of each other's strengths, to achieve one goal. When you collaborate, there isn't a single leader. #CFISDchat
A1 Although they have the same outcomes, teamwork is each person taking on a individual task to accomplish a goal whereas collaboration is everyone working together to complete the goal #cfisdchat
Collaboration is sharing 💡, brainstorming, and working towards one goal. Teamwork is everyone jumping in and doing whatever is needed to help or accomplish a goal! #CFISDchat
A1: Teamwork is working together to get something done but collaboration is when your are working together by soliciting input from various stakeholders. #cfisdchat
A1: collaboration is working together on something with a predetermined end. Teamwork is working together for a common goal with a goal in mind that leads towards the future. #cfisdchat
A1: Teamwork is each member working on their individual piece in their defined role for a common goal. Collaboration involves more communication, sharing ideas, and people could share common roles. #CFISDchat
A2: One would be that team members have to be flexible and at times compromise. Also, a team needs to know each other (build relationships) to work effectively together.
#CFISDchat
A2: I’ll say it once and I’ll say it again, it’s all about the relationships! However, in a professional setting we have to balance the task versus the relationship. #cfisdchat
A2: In order for teams to work, everyone needs to show up prepared and ready to participate. Of course, there needs a level of respect amongst the team. #CFISDchat
A2: Communication is key! If you cannot communicate with each other nothing will get accomplished. Also I think laughter is important. Being able to have laugh while still getting the job down makes it so much more fun! #CFISDchat
A2 A successful team communicates daily and bounces ideas off of each other. They discuss the positives and negatives. Help each other by providing continuous feedback #CFISDchat#support
Collaboration is sharing 💡, brainstorming, and creating together. Teamwork is everyone jumping in and doing whatever is needed to help or accomplish a goal! #CFISDchat
#CFISDchat A1. Teamwork is completing a job as a unit. Collaboration is that plus the communication, sharing of ideas, structure and problem solving that tackles an issue or problem.
A1: Teamwork is working to accomplish a common goal but ea person takes a piece of the puzzle. Collaboration is working together to accomplish the goal - lots of time talking together, problem solving, & completing ea step together. #cfisdchat#wearesalyards#cfisdspirit
A2: every team member brings what they can to the team. Everyone has strengths and everyone one has weakness. We can work with all those. I believe that everyone needs be flexible and be able to work with everyone. 😉 #CFISDchat
A team functions successfully when there is understanding amongst them. To know each others learning/teaching style so that you can help them out when they need it most. #CFISDchat
A2 Communication, common goals and values, and RESPECT (Thanks, Aretha!) for different strengths, talents, and perspectives of each team member! #cfisdchat
A2: In order for teams to work, everyone needs to show up prepared and ready to participate. Of course, there needs a level of respect amongst the team. #CFISDchat
A2: Get to know each other & find each other’s strength. This helps when communicating. Create norms, check on each other, smile, & be there for each other. Setting norms & agendas help with creating successful conversations. Avoid negativity with each other #CFiSDchat
A2: In order to function, team members need to make an effort to understand each other's strengths and play off of those. Listening, communication and pushing each other to grow are essential. #CFISDchat
A2: The best teams...communicate clearly, listen with open minds, collaborate, divide responsibilities/tasks, highlight each other’s strengths, and care about each other. #cfisdchat
A2: #CFISDchat What has been helpful for my teams is being reflective, listening, providing feedback & working with a purpose. This keeps the team focused on our goals.
A2: Communication, Compromise, Good Listening, Focused Planning, Ownership, Time for Fellowship (you have to know each other outside of team planning), Grace #cfisdchat
A2. Be open and honest. Communication is key, don’t assume, clear up misconceptions and make sure you’re on the same page. Be reflective about who you are. Be willing to give feedback and open to receiving it, all with the intention to grow! #CFISDchat
A2: A team functions best if there are clear norms that everyone agrees to, an accountability system within those norms, and a clear common goal. #cfisdchat
This! Our English 1 team has set jobs, special birthday celebrations, goals for each planning day, and we are incredibly supportive of one another! #CFISDchat
A2: Effective communication is key. Each member should feel valued, heard, and respected. Well defined expectations and an agreed upon, common vision are equally important. #CFISDchat
A2: In order for teams to be successful, there must be an awareness of the strengths of your team in order to help with the threats that happen during collaboration. You must have the support of admin during collaboration. #CFISDchat
A2- For a team to be successful, members need to be flexible and recognize that everyone has different strengths and experiences to bring to the table. #CFISDchat
A2: communication and trust is key. Also, everyone has to continually do his/her part for the team. And for me personally, I prefer laughing with my team and love being surrounded by others that lift one another up!! #CFISDchat
A2: A clear shared vision with a collaborative set of goals/action plan! Open communication and collaboration. I 100% think empathy for others is key too! Respect differences and love what you do! #CFISDchat
A3 I try to attend as many PD sessions as possible. Try to grow my PLN. Spend time with my teacher friends during the summer #friendsinreallife#CFISDchat
A3: Opening Bridgeland was such a unique experience. The admin really made it hard to feel isolated. Being open and welcoming is important. Working with Wells ES to pair our students with theirs took a lot of collaboration. #CFISDchat
A3: I’m a first year teacher joining a team that’s been together for awhile. I’ve been trying to participate in group chats and join them for lunch. I also share facts about myself to help them get to know me better. #CFISDchat
A3 Teaching in itself is hard already, teacher isolation is bad for kids, despite our best efforts we become stale and need collaboration to get re-energized. I joined the PLN and asked to be observed by curriculum coaches and other campuses IS. #CFISDchat
#CFISDchat A2:Understanding and cultivating each other strengths. Everyone has something they’re great at so bring it out and the team will shine...like a diamond 💎
A3: Create a positive and supportive culture. A team where everyone is lifting up, instead of being pulled along. #CFISDchat
Here is a great example of that: https://t.co/0Ip4ZAK5jB
A3: I think it all starts with respect. Knowing that people on your team have many different strengths and respecting what they bring to the table, even when you don’t agree with each other, helps foster positive relationships on your team. #cfisdchat
A3: having committees made up of different grade levels. Mixing ppl up so groups are made of diff grade levels to share ideas. Doing ice breakers to get to know each other. Staff gatherings outside of school. #CFISDchat
A2: bringing an open mind into your work sessions and discussions helps build a strong collaboration. If you half a closed mindset, not fully considering the ideas of your teammates, teamwork will suffer #CFISDchat#thingsIstillneedtoworkon
A3. Our group text has brought our science team closer together! We've used it to share/discuss work related things as well as personal celebrations or tribulations. Also taking a break from work to connect over lunch! #CFISDchat
A3 I like to find ways to connect with people on a personal level-get to know them outside the classroom...maybe even hang out outside of work. Also, I find laughter does magic #CFISDchat
A3: Seeking out ways to make contact with people. Learn who they are as a person. What’s their culture? What’s going on in their lives? The more you go out of your way to know people the better the relationship can be. #cfisdchat
A3: we’re putting together teams of three teachers to drop in and out of classrooms to observe greatness. Leave a post it note, tell the person what they’re #crushing, and steal some good ideas! #cfisdchat
A3: This is something that I need to work on, but I encourage my teachers to share ideas with one another then try to guide conversations to grow those ideas. #cfisdchat
#CFISDchat A3: we have 2 new https://t.co/X5uSEthgtL Specials and they were joining a very established team. A survey was created to let us share a little about ourselves, how we like to work, likes, dislikes, and I learned a lot about everyone!
A3: I am not stranded and alone and I am certainly not the most intelligent person - I can bounce and borrow ideas off other insanely gifted people. Technology and social media has allowed me to collab between other Ts in my building & worldwide. #CFISDchat
A3: I try to continually check on each teammate to make sure everyone is good & things are going smoothly. I also think it’s so important to greet your teammates daily. A smile & simple good morning can make or break a day!! #CFISDChat
A3: @salyardsms we are working towards creating PLN with Ts all over our building. We started our new year w/a scavenger hunt to get to know people in the building. We earn points as a team to win prizes throughout the year. Did I forget anything? @TravelingJenB#CFISDchat
In reply to
@CFISDchat, @salyardsms, @TravelingJenB
A3 #CFISDChat teambuilding activities help to break the ice and bring different personalities together. Find a commonality between others ...intentional, purposeful, and planned collaboration between individuals or through a team can help start discussions and combat isolation.
A3: leaders have to communicate with teachers, they need to know how they are feeling, listen, ask questions, and find ways to support them without isolating them more. #cfisdchat
A3: Education can suck the life out of you if you don't feel like you belong and you are part of the #tribe. It should be everyone's responsibility on the team (whatever that is) to be inclusive of other team members. #survival#neverleaveamanbehind#CFISDchat
A3. We have random teams we’re assigned to with the intention of helping us get to know more ppl around the campus and support our school community. I also make an effort to check in with ppl outside of my content like elective teachers to help them feel included. #CFISDchat
A3 Isolation problem or need help? This is a shameless plug for you to go talk to your campus librarian! We ❤️ to collaborate on any lesson! Your librarian has 21st century skills and experience and is ready to help! #CFISDchat
A3 Teaching in itself is hard already, teacher isolation is bad for kids, despite our best efforts we become stale and need collaboration to get re-energized. I joined the PLN and asked to be observed by curriculum coaches and other campuses IS. #CFISDchat
A3a: I try to foster collaborative relationships through "movie" teams where are randomly assigned across contents & a little healthy competition. We also are encouraging Ts to build their PLN on twitter & starting up official PLCs to learn together. #cfisdchat#cfisdspirit
A3: I always think about what I needed to know as a new teacher and try to be that for new teachers to the team. I take a proactive approach and let them know that they have many helpful guides along this journey. #CFISDchat
Addressing someone by name with a positive greeting can work wonders on their day. And for a new team member, it can make all the difference in the world, as they try to develop their own place in the school. #CFISDchat
A3: a simple act: eat lunch together and do not discuss work. It is hard!! But teachers need to decompress and being with their peers for a non-work-focused experience. It helps build community!#CFISDchat
A3 I’m very careful about who I associate with. I try to stick with those who are positive, student-oriented, goal oriented, and invested in doing their best. So, can we have a school made up of everyone in this chat, wouldn’t that be amazing! 👍🏽🤓#CFISDchat
I love this..At Kahla we have established 4 committees where we come together and work through questions, concerns, Pd etc & this has helped. It’s important to get to know your peers outside of work and build relationships just like we say all the time about Ts &Ss #CFiSDchat
A3: #CFISDChat During planning, I encourage teachers to share the good things happening in their class. It creates more collaboration during discussions. Just like Ss, teachers can be afraid to share ideas if they think no one will like them. Helps build our team. 🙌🏻
A3b: In addition, we try to showcase staff by having them share great things they are doing in the classroom with other staff through monthly CAT chats. This has also built an internal PLN. #cfisdchat#WeAreSalyards#CFISDspirit
A3: making time and effort to be present for each other. Love is an action, not just a word (shoutout to @bobgoff for sharing that mindset!) #cfisdchat
A3 expanding my PLN on twitter, stepping out of my comfort zone to get to know more people in our giant building, and our team lunch potlucks (excited for the one tomorrow!) #CFISDchat
I love this..At Kahla we have established 4 committees where we come together and work through questions, concerns, Pd etc & this has helped. It’s important to get to know your peers outside of work and build relationships just like we say all the time about Ts &Ss #CFISDchat
A3: I am always looking for more ideas, but I always try to check in on teachers. I like to get to get to know them beyond just what we do at school. #CFISDchat
A3: a commitment to weekly team planning, purposeful planning of outside of school gatherings, making personal connections with people who aren’t even on your team, remembering to check in on people just to ask how you can help! #cfisdchat
Q3 it helps to aim to be a “safe place” where others can share their ideas and fears -without judgment. When Ts are willing to share their goals, I support them by listening and keeping them accountable by following up. I take risks w them! #CFISDchat
A3: I try my hardest to share any ideas, activities etc that I find with my teammates and more. I feel like we as a community of learners have to foster an environment of sharers and friends. Even if we do not discuss school related topics. Making connections is key #CFISDchat
A4: we actually talked about this today a bit: learning a kids love language might help build that relationship. I dont want to embarrass them by bragging but I do want to try to acknowledge their hard work in a meaningful way. I want them to feel my love and pride! #CFISDchat
A4: Communication. When there is an issue you need to be able to talk through it. On the other side you need to be able to communicate the good things. Celebrate each other and your successes. #CFISDchat
A4: Be genuine. Don’t be fake with your teammates to try to impress them or because you think they want you to be a certain way. As professionals, we should be able to be real with each other and build a solid relationship with one another despite differences we have. #cfisdchat
A3: I love the collaboration we have through Twitter! @thompsonbpope and I have done book clubs with our kids on different campuses. Something is still said for face to face collaboration, which is why I love our model teacher meetings! @EmilieManner#CFISDchat
A4
I feel like I already said this before but CELEBRATE the small and big successes! We do it for the kids, but are you doing it for your team/peers? We often forget that others need validation sometimes too! Reach out and make them feel good. #CFISDchat
A4: get to know each other personally. Connect, trust and build relationships with each other. Build your #tribe and rely on each other in taking risks, set backs and celebrations! #CFISDchat
A3: We invest in getting to know each other's lives outside of school - family, hobbies, interests, etc. This creates a family atmosphere. Joining Google and FB teacher groups also combats isolation. We can collaborate with educators around the globe. 🙌 #CFISDchat
A4. Keep things fun! Don’t be afraid to be silly and have a good time. I’m constantly sending and receiving funny texts, gifs, and Bitmojis from people I work with. It helps us relax and not take everything so seriously. #CFISDchat
A3: Team meetings, Committees, collaborative planning. Go and Grow and EdCamps have broken down our classroom walls @CFISDWells . Tt can collaborative on strategies and tools and feel safe doing so. Everyone shoudl read The Perfect Teacher Myth #CFISDchat
A3: Know about family members, eat lunch together, I believe @B_Weinstein212 mentioned our birthday celebrations, check to see if someone needs anything before you head to the lounge...simple by helpful #cfisdchat
A4: You have to talk to people, I do hand written notes and emails, but nothing replaces face to face interaction, genuine care, or as our Principal put it today "Amor para ustedes" #cfisdchat"
A4: I think the best way to build lasting relationships is to get to know people personally and find common ground. Some of my best friends are other teachers from my past teams. #cfisdchat
A4: Celebrating all successes together. Also, just being open and sincere with others. Teaching is a tough gig and you would be amazed how much a kind word and a smile can mean. Letting others know they matter! #CFISDchat
A4: I think it's important to invest time with ea other to build trust & get to know what makes ea other tick. It is also important to communicate with ea other regularly - positives and areas of improvement rather than letting something that is bothering you fester. #cfisdchat
A4: #CFISDChat It takes consistent fostering. Be genuine, listen, encourage, praise, & appreciate them. Get to know them & understand their needs. And chocolate 🍫
A4: build the bonds all over the school. Check in on each other frequently. If the Ss see the positive relations between staff they have a model they can follow. Model, model, model! #CFISDchat
A3: Being vulnerable, relatable and focused on relationship-building. Establishing a connection with peers creates instant credibility and trust. The foundation and key 🔐 which unlocks future potential. #CFISDchat
Shameless plug during #cfisdchat, @Ms_Morgan15 and I COLLABORATED and created this goofy promo video for #techtreasures. I'm glad we can laugh at ourselves. 🤣
A4 Be a family!! Celebrate each other, care about each other, we are always here for each other. My kids know my coworkers are my friends and we genuinely care for each other. When they see that they know we care for them and want them to succeed as well. #CFISDchat
A4 being positive and encouraging, even on those tough days. I want to leave more notes for my teammates when I float into their rooms so they discover them later #CFISDchat
A4- be present- teachers are notorious multitaskers, but stop what you are doing and give your attention to that person (teacher or student) also...a smile, greeting, or offer to help can go a long way #CFISDchat
A4: Celebrating all successes together. Also, just being open and sincere with others. Teaching is a tough gig and you would be amazed how much a kind word and a smile can mean. Letting others know they matter! #CFISDchat
A4 #CFISDChat Continually build relationships. Be positive! Always! Check in on teachers. Just drop by to tell someone what a great job they’re doing and that they are awesome! And give others a second chance, a new day to start over (just like we should with our Ss).
A4: We teach students that they don't have to be best friends with others to work with them and be nice, but let's face it...we've all had that one co-worker that the situation is not good and we think about it all day and may even get in the way of our work.#CFISDchat
A4: Get to know each other outside of school, help and celebrate one another, spend time together, have fun and laugh #iseeathemewithmyanswers#laugh 🤣🤣🤣#CFISDchat
A4: Listen more than I speak...Think before I Speak...Everyone has something going on in their life...If I keep this perspective, then I will have more understanding for others. More understanding will always benefit coworkers and students #cfisdchat
Q4: celebrating and encouraging all the time! High fives, hand written notes, emails. Being available when someone needs to vent or celebrate. #CFISDchat
A5: I haven’t had the opportunity to do this yet, but I would love to try it! I think it’s a great way for Ts from different schools to collaborate with each other! #cfisdchat
A4: Be open to getting to know others....I am blessed that I build new friendships every year by practicing a growth mindset with my school. It also helps that I smile and say good morning. #CFISDchat
A4: Be yourself, Be humble and show grace/compassion. We have to lighten things up and enjoy the present sometimes and not always focus on the todo list. Shoot a funny text or email is super simple and just remember that everyone needs a smile and feel wanted. #CFISDChat
A4: build team cultures, create traditions, invest time, Sonic & Starbucks drinks don’t hurt! In a nutshell: be more than a coworker...be a friend. You spend too many hours together at school to NOT become friends/family. #cfisdchat
A5: I work with a group of student leaders from across the state. We meet in person only 4 times a year. Those few times we are together are crucial but when we aren't together google hangouts, group me and reminding them to have fun. #CFISDchat
A4: be supportive of one another/build one another up & try not fall into the negativity trap!! That can definitely be difficult at stressful times in the year, but I usually try to combat it with sharing sweet treats & corny jokes!! #CFISDChat
A5: Zoom and Google are my go-tos. I think one of the thing in virtual teams is that is so easy to talk and not listen. We have to train ourselves to listen. #cfisdchat
A1: teamwork vs. collaboration. Teamwork is division and conquering a task, but collaboration is compromising & combining input from everyone! #CFISDchat
A3: All decisions affecting the team are discussed as a team! All ideas are acknowledged & respected. We are part of each others' lives, in & out of school. We pray for each other, & sometimes WITH each other. And, there's always the group text! #WeAreFamily#CFISDchat
A1 #Cfisdchat teamwork is everyone or groups of people working together to get things done, complete tasks. Collaboration is people coming together to create solutions or ideas each one building off one another’s ideas.
A3 My students and I would collaborate into teaching another class how to use flipgrid @MsAugustave. My team and had awesome sharing sessions. We not always agreed but we would form groups to decide and conquer. @HooverCFISD#CFISDchat
#CFISDchat A5: Staying in touch virtually was interesting! What we did that made it work was to meet in virtual meetings via Zoom so we could see each other and discuss our project. We then could use all the cool Google tools to complete the task.
A3: Preventing teacher isolation. I initiated a team luncheon before going back for ANY PD and intend to have an even greater presence as a co-lead mentor this year! #CFISDchat
A5 I am on a leadership team for @ISTEMLN. We have Zoom meetings x1/month, but we each have roles and we HAVE to communicate throughout the month. My chair partner & I have built a relationship outside of the meetings, so it makes our job easier! #cfisdchat
A1 I feel like Teamwork lends itself to a group working together on a final product where collaboration can be between people working together on individual products. #CFISDchat#WeAreSalyards
A4: Be authentic, open-minded, genuine, and others-focused. "Appreciate more than you think you should...then double it! The best leaders make you think YOU are important." -@craiggroeschel#CFISDchat
A5 I have not, but this could be cool for those who are the only T on their campus for a course, like resource/basic classes. Could also lessen the feeling of isolation for these Ts too #CFISDchat
A5 I recently joined Flipgrid as a student voice ambassador and grid guide and working virtually through Slack has been awesome. It’s different getting to know people online than in person but the same teamwork/collaboration skills apply. #CFISDchat
A5. I have definitely heard of zoom, and my colleague and I were going to use it to communicate for PD week, but it fell through. I’ve used a chat feature for Staff development liaison meetings. I enjoyed it! #CFISDchat
A5 #CFISDChat with the exception of online classes, I haven’t had the opportunity to work in a virtual team. But I think it has the same foundation as a face to face team...Build a relationship with them! Text groups, accountability and open discussion forums (hangouts, zoom)
A1 Teamwork is working together to get the job done. Collaboration is putting all of your ideas out on the table to come up with the best end product. #CFISDchat#WeAreSalyards 🐯 #BengalsTellNoTales
A5 When we have to connect virtually and collaborate, Google docs are my favorite tool! I also really enjoy the ease of Zoom. Grateful to work for a district that provides so many choices to get the job done! #CFISDchat
A5 #cfisdchat yes, I LOVE my virtual team. we created a #googleclassroom to share ideas during PD week, also exploring @zoom_us for our share sessions to increase participation
Allowing everyone to have a voice and build each other up. We are changing to all self contained this year so there is a big change for my team but we are working great together to help each other out already. #CFISDchat
A5: Our ITS team communicates virtually frequently. Google drive is paramount to our effective communication as we are disbursed far and wide across the district. Don’t know what we’d do without it 🤪 #CFISDchat
A5b It is hard to start being a part of a virtual team, because we are used to face to face. I think you have to have the same type of norms/procedures you would in a normal meeting. #cfisdchat
A6 Last year was my first year on a new team so I was focused on all I needed to learn ...this year I want to continue to build relationships and strive to make all members feel valued #CFISDchat
A6: I want to continue to grow my relationships with my teammates and make sure to be there for whatever they might need. Taking time to spend outside of work would be bonus points.😀#CFISDchat
A6 I want to share my passion, ignite in them (if they choose) to embrace blended learning and flexible seating. A team with a common goal can be the coal added to the caboose on the train to keep it moving down the tracks. A shared mission. #CFISDchat
A6: Setting expectations for what it means to be a member of our team, defining ways that we can hold each other accountable to those expectations in a constructive ways that help us to grow individually and as a team #cfisdchat
A5: I haven’t been on any virtual teams, but I feel like there’s an opportunity to create one with other ISs to more regularly collaborate outside of IS meetings (where there’s not as much time to truly collaborate) #cfisdchat
A6: I feel like if we put S’s needs before anything else, our team will be successful. I plan to be encouraging, collaborative, and purposeful during planning and throughout my day every day! #cfisdchat
A6
Since the topic of food is on the table.. I'm learning to love cooking! Today I hosted a discussion starter where I had the staff "break bread" and enjoy a cookie with someone they did not know that well! It was fun to see all the interactions! #CFISDchat
Forgot to introduce myself 😅 Victoria Kuhn (Lance), 8th Grade U.S. History (newly married, AKA stole my new last name 🙌🏻) @Dean_CFISD#AllAboutTheDEAN#CFISDchat
A6 I want to make sure all of my team members feel appreciated this year! It’s easy to meet, get busy, & tick those items off the to do list but I want them to know they they matter to me! #CFISDchat
A6. I want to help grow others this year and encourage risk taking. It might not always feel good because we will be leaving our comfort zones but I’m hopeful we’ll be able to bring out the best in one another and continue to challenge the status quo! #CFISDchat
A3: Really embracing the "Twitterverse" has allowed me to connect with other Ts and groups related to my content in ways I could never do alone. Thx to all who put themselves out there. #CFISDchat
A5: #CFISDChat Communication & sharing ideas. I want them to feel more comfortable sharing ideas & collaborating.
Also, some risk taking and trying new things!
A6 I can appreciate that all members of my campus come ready to be at their best every year! I’m hoping to bring everything I’ve learned over the summer, incorporating new tech into the classroom and help make our team better than ever! #CFISDchat
A5: I only used zoom once to communicate with my TL during Harvey. (Not an expert at all) It was very beneficial way to work and share our screens...I could see how it would be beneficial way to grow your #PLN#CFISDchat
A5: Working with a virtual team is much like working with a F2F team; it just looks a little different. We "meet" via Zoom calls and FB Live, we have group texts through Group Me, and we store files with detailed info in Google Classroom or Files in FB. #CFISDchat
A2 Everybody comes to the table with different experiences. Accept everyone for who they are because we are all unique in our own crazy way! 🤪 Laugh, have patience, and breathe! Be aware of your own issues and try to reel it in when necessary! #CFISDchat#WeAreSalyards 🐯
A6: We are a small team with PK - 12, all content responsibilities so we have to stay focused and keep positive. We re-established our mtg norms and are holding each other accountable for the Work! We are all rowing the same way! #CFISDchat
A6: My fab partner and I are working on digital badging. We are also planning more Go and Grow activities for Tt to observe one another. Teamwork makes the dreamwork. #CFISDchat
A6 #CFISDChat Exude positivity! Our Dept will complete a personal inventory so we can recognize others in their own love language, celebrate birthdays, and bring them treats they like on tough days. Continue to grow relationships! Celebrate each other! 🎉🎉
A6: We discussed our “why” last week and discussed our goals for the year so that we can hold each other accountable. I also think it is important to give each other wiggle room as well...we are not joined at the hip but are only a text/call/yell away. #CFISDchat
A3: Really embracing the "Twitterverse" has allowed me to connect with other Ts and groups related to my content in ways I could never do alone. Thx to all who put themselves out there. #CFISDchat#WeAreSalyards
A5: I’ve not been on a virtual team before, but I would love to be and I can only imagine the amount of knowledge that can be shared and gained, not to mention the communities built! #CFISDchat
A6: Not second guessing the Ss potential and allowing more student centered learning. We have to let go and believe in the Ss and allow for our time in planning to gather resources and assembling lessons in that mindset. #Building2bBest#CFISDchat
A6. I am joining the 8th grade science team this year but I still want to connect with and keep up the relationships I've created with my 6th grade team! Teacher friends and connections across the grade levels! #CFISDchat
A6: This year I'm going to be more intentional with investing in their professional and personal lives. I want my team to always feel like I have time for them and that they matter. #CFISDchat
