  • Miss_Posch Feb 4 @ 8:43 PM EST

  • MrsBTeachs Feb 4 @ 8:43 PM EST
A1: @Seesaw is a great tool & I’ve seen it used in @mrsgittensclass class! I’ve not used my platform to necessarily communicate w/ parents directly. However it allows me to bulk merge letters, passes etc. making communication more effective. #CFISDchat #WeAreSalyards #SwashBengal

    Question 2 - Remember to use A2 and #CFISDchat
  • MrsBTeachs Feb 4 @ 8:48 PM EST

  • lulamaye Feb 4 @ 8:48 PM EST
A1: I love @seesaw for being able to show Ps a glimpse of what goes on during our day @CFISDWells #explorewells I start out with a ton of pictures that I help upload but at this tine of the year the S are doing all of the posting themselves! #cfisdchat
  • mrshartzler4 Feb 4 @ 8:49 PM EST
A2: I feel like students are more motivated to learn, collaborate with others, and share what they know especially when I allow them choice in the type of tech tools they can use. #studentvoiceandchoice #CFISDchat
  • shererclass Feb 4 @ 8:50 PM EST
A2 great motivator, "I'm gonna get this, so I can show off" Yep, students love to brag about their work or show to parents, grandparents etc. You can have several family members join #CFISDchat
  • MrsGExplorers Feb 4 @ 8:50 PM EST

  • kendremilburn - Moderator Feb 4 @ 8:51 PM EST

  • cathyjacobs5 - Moderator Feb 4 @ 8:51 PM EST
Sorry I’m missing out tonight! At the board meeting. #CFISDchat
  • meredithakers Feb 4 @ 8:51 PM EST
A2: When students create for a real audience - outside just the classroom walls - they are so much more motivated than if the assignment is for their teachers eyes only. #cfisdchat
  • TrishaSamuels Feb 4 @ 8:51 PM EST
A2: #CFISDchat I’ve observed classes using digitial platforms, and yes, students are much more engaged with the content. For students who struggle with expressing themselves in written form, digital platforms are great ways to offer other opportunities for responses.
    In reply to @CFISDchat
  • mrshartzler4 Feb 4 @ 8:51 PM EST
Yes, I love the authentic audience it gives them! #cfisdchat
    In reply to @MrsGExplorers, @CFISDchat

    Question 3 - Remember to use A3 and #CFISDchat
  • TravelingJenB Feb 4 @ 8:54 PM EST
A1: This is an area of growth but the little we have used it has increased parent understanding of their Ss work & provided an avenue for parents to see what their S is working on in class. #CFISDchat
  • MrsWhigham_Pope Feb 4 @ 8:55 PM EST
A1: I am so old school and just send pictures and videos via Twitter, Remind or Email. @MrsAustin2nd you need to teach me this Seesaw business! #POPEPride #CFISDchat
    In reply to @CFISDchat, @MrsAustin2nd
  • Miss_Posch Feb 4 @ 8:56 PM EST
A2: Yes! Students love seeing each other’s work when logging in and just the act of “liking” another student’s post is so fun for them! It’s motivating for them to create more posts!#cfisdchat
  • TravelingJenB Feb 4 @ 8:57 PM EST
A2: I have not personally used @Seesaw but I have seen students engaged through @googleclassroom to have chats or give each other feedback through @googledocs. It has led to some great conversations btw Ss & an increase in their interest in the learning. #CFISDchat

    In reply to @CFISDchat
  • MrsWhigham_Pope Feb 4 @ 8:58 PM EST
A2: My students get particularly excited when a tweet about them is retweeted or their parent likes a photo through remind. I can only imagine that sharing their work through Seesaw would have the same effect. #POPEPride #CFISDchat
    In reply to @CFISDchat
  • MrsGExplorers Feb 4 @ 8:59 PM EST
#CFISDchat A3: with Seesaw, as a first grade teacher, I can track reading comp, writing components and math skills. Being able to look at the posts give me some power reflection data on how to help and or motivate my Ss. #ExploreWells
    In reply to @CFISDchat
  • Miss_Posch Feb 4 @ 8:59 PM EST
A3: Interested in reading others’ answers on this! I only use digital platforms for data tracking on WPM for my functional tech class. #CFISDchat
  • CFISDchat Feb 4 @ 9:00 PM EST
    Question 4 - Remember to use A4 and #CFISDchat
  • shererclass Feb 4 @ 9:00 PM EST
A3 have students read their guided reading books for fluency. We watch and can critique together #CFISDchat
  • MrsWhigham_Pope Feb 4 @ 9:01 PM EST
A3: As a Life Skills Teacher, I am always taking data with curriculum and IEP goals. I love the idea of having a video diary to show that growth instead of just numbers on a data sheet! #POPEPride #CFISDchat
    In reply to @CFISDchat
  • stacybry77 Feb 4 @ 9:01 PM EST
A3: I am old school on tracking. I still keep it all in a master spreadsheet on Google Sheets. Just habit I guess. #CFISDchat
  • TravelingJenB Feb 4 @ 9:02 PM EST
A3: I am loving the ideas for using @Seesaw. We have used @googleforms to track data related to specific TEKS being covered & provide immediate feedback/reteaching. I would love to see how @Seesaw could enhance that work. #CFISDchat #wearesalyards
  • Jessi_White03 Feb 4 @ 9:02 PM EST
Q1- I like using google classroom so that I can send defferentiated assignments! For example, I sent a screen castify video to a student modeling how to write an essay and now we are co-authoring one for homework and conferencing about it at school. #CFISDchat
    In reply to @CFISDchat
  • MrsAustin2nd Feb 4 @ 9:02 PM EST
#CFISDchat A3: In the primary grades Seesaw is an exceptional tool in the classroom to track data. My upper grade friends do you use Google Classroom more often to track data?
    In reply to @CFISDchat
  • mrshartzler4 Feb 4 @ 9:04 PM EST
A4: Feedback helps students grow and move forward. I love to share a “Glow and Grow” with my students so they are receiving a specific praise and area of growth!#cfisdchat
  • TravelingJenB Feb 4 @ 9:04 PM EST
A4: If Ss are posting to reflect on others work, their own, or demonstrate learning it is important that we let them know how on target they are by affirming, asking ? to improve, & validate their work. #CFISDchat #wearesalyards
  • MrsAustin2nd Feb 4 @ 9:04 PM EST
#CFISDchat #POPEpride Hey Mrs. Whigham! A video diary would work perfect in your class! Seesaw can be used as a virtual blog to show off their learning daily or in a weekly rotation.
    In reply to @MrsWhigham_Pope, @CFISDchat
  • TrishaSamuels Feb 4 @ 9:04 PM EST
A4: #CFISDchat Immediate & purposeful feedback is essential for student growth. More importantly, Ss need to know that you care enough about their progress to take the time to respond to them in a meaningful way.
    In reply to @CFISDchat
  • MrsBTeachs Feb 4 @ 9:05 PM EST
A4: feedback = growth. It allows individual students to see their areas of growth and what to focus on. It’s definitely something I struggle with. #CFISDChat #WeAreSalyards #SwashBengal
    In reply to @CFISDchat
  • danielle_lavala Feb 4 @ 9:05 PM EST
A4: feedback on student work is meant to help the child build upon what they've already done. Constructive and precise feedback encourages kids to be their best selves and push their boundaries into new areas of growth. #CFISDchat
    In reply to @CFISDchat
  • TrishaSamuels Feb 4 @ 9:05 PM EST

  • MrsGExplorers Feb 4 @ 9:06 PM EST
#CFISDchat A4: Giving Ss meaningful and purposeful feedbk holds them accountable bc they know ur cking it and gives them an opportunity to reflect on their work.
    In reply to @CFISDchat
  • LexileLexa Feb 4 @ 9:06 PM EST
A4: Our students need to know that we are celebrating their growth along with them, while also reflecting on areas that need improvement. #CFISDchat
    In reply to @CFISDchat
  • mrshartzler4 Feb 4 @ 9:07 PM EST
It also helps me build relationships with my students and be able to celebrate genuinely with them! #cfisdchat
    In reply to @TrishaSamuels, @CFISDchat
  • MrsWhigham_Pope Feb 4 @ 9:07 PM EST
A4: Students not only love it but they need it! Good or bad they need to know we as their teacher care. I’m assuming with Seesaw that teacher feedback would be available for the student to go back and see or hear as many times as they need? Cool concept! #POPEPride #CFISDchat
    In reply to @CFISDchat
  • MrsAustin2nd Feb 4 @ 9:08 PM EST
#CFISDchat A4: I want my students to have a growth mindset. We set goals together, and this can only happen with meaningful and motivating feedback! When goals are met we celebrate, if they are not met yet celebrate the growth not matter how small. #POPEpride
    In reply to @CFISDchat
  • danielle_lavala Feb 4 @ 9:09 PM EST
A5: I see my students actively assessing their work and comparing it to that of their peers; this sparks new ideas and a unique brand of collaboration. #CFISDchat
    In reply to @CFISDchat
  • mrshartzler4 Feb 4 @ 9:09 PM EST
A5: I use Google Forms and @Flipgrid for student reflection quite a bit. I love that we (students and me) can go back and compare how far they have come! Celebrate growth and setting goals through our reflections! #CFISDchat
  • shererclass Feb 4 @ 9:09 PM EST
A4 yes. We all need a pat on the back or a nudge back on the track! How do you know where you are going if you don’t know where you have been? #cfisdchat
  • TrishaSamuels Feb 4 @ 9:10 PM EST
A5: #CFISDchat I’ve seen teachers use Flipgrid to allow Ss to reflect. I think anytime we can provide opportunities for student reflection, we also allow Ss to take ownership of their learning. It’s important that they think & reflect on their own progress.
    In reply to @CFISDchat
  • MrsWhigham_Pope Feb 4 @ 9:11 PM EST

A5: I have seen an increase in collaboration & Ss discussing how to improve their work or take it to the next level. #CFISDchat #WeAreSalyards
  • kendremilburn - Moderator Feb 4 @ 9:12 PM EST
A4 meaningful feedback shows our learners that it isn’t about the grade but the process and growth! #cfisdchat
  • Jessi_White03 Feb 4 @ 9:12 PM EST
Q4- I love that digital platforms open up doors for genuine feedback and it’s a place where students feel safe being vulnerable with the skills they know or do not know! #CFISDchat
    In reply to @CFISDchat

  • stacybry77 Feb 4 @ 9:15 PM EST
A6: My favorite thing to use Seesaw for is book clubs. Ss meet as a group and read and then video their reflections and post to Seesaw. I have a list of questions for each chapter to get them started and they take it from there. #CFISDchat
  • Jessi_White03 Feb 4 @ 9:16 PM EST
A5- I think this is something I need to get better at incorporating honestly! I’d love to use flip grid or seesaw for students to reflect on their progesssion of essay writing! #CFISDchat looking for a flip grid tutor? 🤷🏼‍♀️ 🤣
