#OrEdChat A4: Music upon students entering can set the tone, while music to manage movement, to manage time and to change the mood in a class are also great ways to use it. Spotify/YouTube Red great resources without ads.
A4 - I used to play the Hawaii 5-0 theme song to clean up. Sometimes if I'm eating lunch with Ss in my office I'll throw on Kids Bop. #OrEdChat#bethewildcard
A5: I have not tried a full room transformation yet but if I did I would probably do a pirate theme to go with our pirate writing project that we do in the spring! #OrEdChat
A4: I used music alllll the time! It was Part of our routines, transitions, to build anticipation for a themed lesson... you name it! Many great playlists on YouTube. #OrEdChat
A5: When I taught full time, we made our room into a coffee house with special lighting and lots of food; kids did an open mic and shared their memoirs. #oredchat
I keep a music playlist to use. Typically classical during rest time/quiet time, and movie songs for musical chair sight words. Its a sticky wicket as some parents will tell you when they find a song inappropriate that you didn't think would be a problem #oredchat
Alright #OrEdChat crew! We need a new book for NEXT WEEK! YIKES! I was thinking one that would allow us to try things in our classroom during the week and then come chat about it on Sundays like #EduProtocols or #ShakeUpLearning. What do you think??
A5 I've never done a room transformation but would love to support a teacher doing one. @GianellaPage maybe? Or does anyone have ideas for a VP office transformation? #OrEdChat#bethewildcard
A4: Love music in the classroom be it for background/ambient, call back songs, energizers, find-a-partner songs, or for setting the scene like Greek music playing during our Ancient Athens studies. Also love content-heavy songs written by others #OrEdChat#BeTheWildCard
Not as extensive as in the book, but currently doing a rainforest in my room. K-1 and SIS did Dr. Seuss land in March. Would like to do Dino world for May sometime. #OrEdChat
A5: My room is already transformed. I call it "under the sea" lots of blue and green, blue light covers with paper fish in them. Seashells hanging from the sealing. The beach is my oasis, so I created it for the class :) #oredchat

A5: Yes! I loved themes! My room had a new theme each year. Then, room transformations for large projects. Did a space theme, beach theme, football theme... it was an obsession & I spent way too much money on it! #oredchat
#OrEdChat A5: Transformation into a courtroom, into a jury room, into a congressional hall were classroom occurances and as a new principal the transformation into a place of learning for all was our first task at hand! #learningfirst#engagement
Either book would be good. I have both on my to order list. My colleagues and I were just talking about these two. I enjoy this group of educators, so would be willing to participate in either one. #OrEdchat
A5: I did a mini classroom transformation when we began our Ancient Athens unit. I decorated the tables, had music playing, & provided snacks as we studied Next up: Evidence & Investigation Escape-Room with black lights & tons of clues to unlock #OrEdChat#BetheWildCard
Not to self promote, but Hacking Classroom Management has a ton of ideas that can easily and immediately be implemented into any class.
I would love to join the chat if you ever decide to read it. Plus, it’s super fast! #OrEdChathttps://t.co/q4IAEHHKvP
