Usually I list the things I need to do down on something. It can be on paper or on an app (I use @todoist for that), and I try to list each simple task down so I can get a hold of how many things I need to do for a given time period. #DevDiscuss
Then once I open up all the programs I need to keep on going, I zone out everything else by listening to music.
I try to pick songs that I've either heard of so many times already, or instrumentals. #DevDiscuss
I used to do Pomodoro back in college, and it seemed to work if I really put my mind into it. π
But once I get lazy... oh no, that's the time I either do everything in one sitting or I rarely get anything done. #DevDiscuss
I wanted to ask, if for example you have lots of things to work on, to the point that it's overwhelming... How do you get yourself to focus on at least one thing? #DevDiscuss
I sometimes struggle with this and so far what I've been doing is just to distract myselfβfor at least an hour.
I'm just wondering what other people do if ever :) and if yours is... I guess, faster? π #DevDiscuss
I tell myself not to care about the things happening around me. That I should only care about what I am currently doing. (easier said than done though lol)
(also that's a big thing for me because I get distracted quite easily π ) #DevDiscuss
Decide what I'm going to work on. Get some instrumental music going (can't have words, it distracts me - but silence is also distracting). Take a deep breath. And just start. It usually takes a few minutes to really get focused, but it'll happen. #devdiscuss
I forgot to add π I tried to just capture the three sections in a day hahaha
I also get these quick "focus spikes" late in the evening. But it's annoying for me since I also like waking up early π #DevDiscuss
Same here. I like it when I feel like I can do more wore before the day ends, but I regret it the following morning when I'm groggy as hell π’ #DevDiscuss
I've realized that in my first 3+ months at work, I've started AND finished a lot of projects!
For someone whose bad habit is to start a project and then leave it hanging (because laziness or other things), it made me feel happy π #DevDiscuss
