A6: Connections w/Ss. are especially important for the “invisible student”. I have a lunch buddy that I like to check in with. If they aren’t at lunch I’m following up to make sure they are well. If I don’t show up, they check on me to make sure I’m well. It matters. #LeadLAP

I “surf” teenagers, looking for opportunities to congratulate, to uplift, to engage. From eye contact and a head nod (with smile, of course), to a high five, fist bump, or a hug, you meet kids where they are and give them what the need. #LeadLap #BePositivity

A6: Getting to take a team of staff members to an event this week to recognize a student for overcoming great obstacles was the best reminder of why the connections we make with our kids are at the heart of what we do. #LeadLAP

A6: Do them as often as possible, unofficially. Make it part of the culture- it fades into the background. Doesn’t become “dog and pony”. Send immediate communication via picture, @voxer , email, note. Share the goodness found with all staff. #leadlap
