A1: I owe my entire life as an educator to my 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Pelzer. She got me hooked on learning as a 4th grader and hooked on teaching when I was a senior. #ProDriven
A1: My superintendent is among the best leaders with whom I've ever worked. Smart, student-centered, articulate, and STUDENT-CENTERED! #prodriven#leveluplead
I've said it a million times; can we please do away with the word "administrator?" When I was a little boy, I didn't dream of administrating. #ProDriven#leveluplead
“Teacher” and “Administrator” are job titles based on a pay grade. “Leader” and “Educator” are roles based on mindsets. We are ALL capable of being leaders and educators with we choose to be, no matter the job title. #ProDriven
Q3: My principal has had a huge difference with the climate and culture within our district. His leadership style is one I try to emulate with making connections with students and staff. #prodriven
A2: Although my career in educations started in 2006, I feel my path and journey started before that. As a senior I worked 1-on-1 with 4th graders on supplemental instruction. Got hooked on teaching. #ProDriven
A2: For me, it's be written. I don't know any other way to be. From picking kickball teams to captaining my athletic teams to working with people like @jbormann3. #prodriven#leveluplead
A2. Before I came to education, I had been a manager and thought I was a leader. I made a lot of mistakes, mostly in relationships. Once I worked for a real leader, then I understood. #ProDriven
A2: Umm... I managed finances for a low-income housing nonprofit, sold franchised businesses, investigated child abuse/neglect, and supervised a 911 center... then decided to be a teacher. So, I'm late to the game a bit. #prodriven
Agree, Tracy. Seeing it truly modeled and being on the receiving end makes us want to provide that for others. That’s why I always say, “Keep climbing your mountain and empower those around you to do the same.” #ProDriven
#prodriven I think that the work is key in moving a school or district ahead. There's just not enough hours in the day to dig deep on a one-on-one basis as a building leader
#prodriven Sure thing. Often building leaders are called upon to be instructional leaders, but in order to really follow through, it's hard to do so unless you're blessed with a small school. So, when it comes to guiding change/improvement having some coaches on your side helps
A3: Not necessarily an icon, but does Tetris count? I’d say I’m always trying to make connections and see how pieces fit in education. I also like thinking INSIDE the box. On another note, this game fully prepared me for how to pack a mini-van for a family vacation. #ProDriven
Q5: Now that I have been coaching for 3 years, I have learned how to ask the right questions and help teachers on their journeys to being even better than they are. #prodriven
A4: I hope I have evolved in my ability to seek out help. Building my PLN is important to me, because it allows me to lean on experts when I need to know more. #ProDriven
A4: Mine has been deeply reflective. Watching my talented staff work each day makes me realize how much better a teacher I could have been. It's time to make up for that now. #prodriven#leveluplead
A4: I started out traditional. It didn't take my long to learn my Ss weren't my definition of traditional. Out of the box! Now I encourage all Ts to get out of the box & be innovative! #ProDriven
