We use the engineering design process for all that we do (ASK, IMAGINE, PLAN, CREATE, IMPROVE), try to incorporate into our units, we use Engineering is Elem kits for some things #1stchat

We started with the book, and we get on the train to go to each country, We will watch the movie on the last day and have a pancake breakfast. #1stchat

Anyone do Calkins reading units? We are going to be finishing up word detectives unit and I usually do a breakout type celebration, but looking for any other ideas

We have added a center were we make word art with the words from this site https://t.co/b3YePm26Zq. Then put in sheet protectors. I pull a word and the students have 30 seconds to find it as many times as they can. #1stchat
#1stchat I have also done these challenges has helped my students become self motivated learners. They have to complete is all by Friday. If they finish a task they may play SW boom or tic tac toe

I had several classes use and enjoy the Foos Hour of Code app! They loved going head to head! Also had a 4th grade teacher set up Coding stations incl Spheros. Lots of participation in #hourofcodejp2017#1stchat
I'm starting it this year and will continue to use it all year. Made it for a class this summer with flowers and a bee. Now making it for every week. The SS LOVE it! #1stchat
