#122edchat Jerry Toups aka #JediOfBelieve HS Math Tr from the Houston area. My 1st rule since I started teaching in 1990 has been #AlwaysBelieve in Yourself. #ItWorks This rule has changed the lives of my Ss. My shout out is to my former Ss who learned to BELIEVE they can do math
Hi there! Sherri from @ThirstyBeesNY, educator, presenter, trainer - freshly returned to the Catskills after many hours of flying from Anchorage, AK. I am thankful for @supportcard and @brightwayslearn for the work we did in Alaska the last 2 days! #122edchat
A1: My wish for my Ss is that they leave not just my classroom, but our school & district w/ a desire to be life long learners who are ready to be members of collaborative teams who think critically, are able to be creative and communicate their thoughts to the world. #122edchat
Hi Everyone! Deanna here from Dover, DE. HS English 10-12. Shoutout to my work BFF @MrsLouder for supporting my dreams to get better every day. #122edchat
A1) My wish is that the kids are able to look at what they have in front of them and eventually appreciate the work that people have done to get them to where they are. And to have more opportunity than I did #122edchat
A1: ...Dream bigger than their current surroundings. Live up to their full potential. And that they would "die empty" because they have poured out their heart for everyone they served. #122edchat
A1: I wish that students will become "mentches" - That's Yiddish for 'people of integrity and honor'. Kind people, that want to do good in the world #122edchat
A1: My wish for my Ss is that they become people who dream and believe. Dream of greatness and believe in themselves and others to make it there!
#122edchat
A1. Not in a classroom this year.
However, if I were I would say “… know they are cared for.”
And
“… are given opportunities to grow, create, and innovate.” #122edchat
A1 For students in my classroom this year, my ultimate wish as an educator is that they become people who... can think & listen, who will share their thoughts and hear others'; to build on, respectfully refute, or support those ideas in search of more understanding. #122edchat
A1 I hope all my Ss become people who make those they are around better, people who are fulfilled, people who challenge the norms, ultimately I hope my Ss become good people who are happy #122edchat
A1: ...think for themselves by weighing the situation and working toward a common goal and will stand up for what they believe is right for all. #122edchat
A1: seek to use their education and privilege to diminish the suffering of others, learn about and respect the beauty of other cultures and reaffirm our shared humanity #122edchat
Thanks @_on11 ! We're sending out the sign ups in two weeks for the entire 6th grade! Holding our conferences in December. I'll keep you posted! #122edchat
A1: I want my Ss to become people who are motivated to take control of their education. Who aren’t afraid to try new things, when they get something wrong they are able to dust off and try again! Who push their Ts for more because they deserve it! #122edchat
#122edchat
A1: For the students in my classroom this year, my ultimate wish as an educator is that they become people who are successful, inspiring and following the right path to reach their goals.
A1 - people who:
1. “Love who they are.
2. Strive to love their job
3. Are empathetic, kind and sincere
4. Find a passion for life
5. Take nothing for
6. Pay it forward daily
7. Make the world a better place.
#teachpos#122edchat
A1: I also wish for them to realize that their voice does matter and that they know they can indeed make a difference. I also hope they realize they define their life... Not to buy into a label someone assigned to them. #122edchat
A2: I am so fortunate to be in a new position this year. It allows me to provide Ss more choice & voice as they collaborate & find ways to be connected learners. We are using @Flipgrid , @AdobeSpark , and @gsuite to make some of this possible. #122edchat#bwsrdREADY
A1 Lately, for me, I have had an increase in desire for my Ss to be people who are able to handle their uncertainty publicly, sharing their rough draft thinking with others, and being intellectually curious enough genuinely engage with inquiry.
#122edchat
A1: For the students in my classroom this year, my ultimate wish as an educator is that they become people who are... thinkers, doers, creators, inspirers, peacemakers, problem solvers, relationship builders, and determined to make their world a better place to live. #122edchat
#122edchat
A1: For the students in my classroom this year, my ultimate wish as an educator is that they become people who are successful, inspiring and following the right path to reach their goals.
...practise empathy, share kindness, spread love, think critically, welcome challenges, collaborate with passion, find joy in small ‘miracles’ each day and be grateful for the gift of life! #122edchat
Mike, Tech Integrator from NY. How is the #122edchat crew tonight?! It has been too long since I’ve been able to make it. Thanks @MrsMurat for the tag in.
Beautifully said! I always want my students to leave my class with an understanding that we are all in this together. We need to be working for the good of the whole! #122edchat
A2 It would be pretty rad if Ss could learn about whatever they wanted to learn about, build whatever they needed to build, create with whoever, they needed to create with. #122edchat
Renee Costarella, Arcadia Unified, Instructional Coach...Better late than never! A1: Ultimate wish for students, they become people who care, relate and have strategies to cope and thrive! #122edchat
A1 The goal is to provide information and skills so that students have the ability to think for themselves, make good decisions, and to #BeKind#122edchat
Hi everyone with #122edchat ! Allison from Winchester, VA. I am a HS special educator, and I am thankful for my Ss who roll with all my ideas everyday! Their acceptance of my 💡s make my days bright.
Become a generation of solution oriented change agents! That they are empathetic problem solvers who know that they have the power and potential to make a difference! ❤️🥊 #122edchat#champforkids
A2: ...See how fortunate that they are, how much they have, by taking them out of their comfort zone to serve the less fortunate -- in our own country and beyond. The access we have is mind-boggling, but we can lose sight of our own privilege at times. #122edchat
A2: I'd love for Ss to have the opportunity for experiential learning every single day. Virtually and in person, I'd love for them to connect their learning and dreams to the real world.
#122edchat
A2: I’d give my students the opportunity to travel the world, to learn thru first hand experiences, to see what life is likefor others and reflect on how to make this a better place for each other and all inhabitants of this global home #122edchat
A2: to be honest, my administration is pretty supportive of any innovative ideas that we come with. Blessed to have an accommodating administration! #122edchat
Hi everyone! I’m Lori Asquith, administrator from NY! Thankful for my amazing staff and all of the terrific people I have learned from along my teaching journey! #122edchat
A2 With this in mind, if I knew my administration would say “YES! Whatever you need! Go for it!” I’d give my students the opportunity to… go beyond our classroom and campus. Honestly, I've almost always heard YES. I wish I had started asking sooner, but I assumed NO. #122edchat
A2. Having been an administrator for 26 years I sure wouldn't wait for a "YES!" If I knew in my heart it was good for students I would inform the person and move forward. After all it is YESvember! #122edchat
A2: I'd give my students the opportunity to have a split timed school. One shift, for morning peeps 7-12 and 12-5 for those who aren't morning peeps. I'd also like them to have more experiential learning out in the community. #122edchat
A2: to incorporate wellness and mental health awareness into all PD. I see all staff struggling daily to meet ever expanding student needs in areas for which there have little training. #122edchat
A2 - Explore options that would truly enhance our world. Allow them to find a passion and go for it. Provide a place where grades aren’t the measuring stick, but rather, pride in doing their very best each day. #122edchat
A3: Ss need to have opportunities to learn and practice the #SEL outcomes. Being able to access these behaviors and expectations allow for students to monitor themselves and their peers more honestly as they work collaboratively in problem solving. #122edchat
This is why we love you, Michael. Read a similar line as we finished The Book Thief about souls which are light "because they have given so much of themselves." #122edchat
A1: ...Dream bigger than their current surroundings. Live up to their full potential. And that they would "die empty" because they have poured out their heart for everyone they served. #122edchat
A2: If admin could say YES to all, I would want Ss to have opportunity to make learning a process of experiences, beyond the walls of the room. Workbooks would not be in the budget but rather making connections to community resources and real world relations. #122edchat
A2: Get out into the community more to solve some problems that happen within our community. Not even sure what I want that to look like. Just know that's what I want students to do. #122edchat
A2: My admin would totally say yes but I’d need more funding to do WAY more field trips. Those opportunities to see things are sometimes are for my kids to come by and I’d LOVE to do more #122edchat
Getting a student to take a guess is so hard at the beginning of the year, BUT THAT IS HOW WE LEARN! We have to start somewhere and guesses are how we start discussion! Totally what we want Ss leaving our class knowing #122edchat
A2 visit other schools on a regular basis. I truly wish my students understood the power of the culture #walelm has created for them to learn in. So many teachers who TRULY care and are doing special things for THEM #122edchat
Very true, especially when working in a system that seeks to enforce compliance and conformity. When Ss leave MS I want them to be like "I got this, I can do it, because I am awesome." Unfortunately sometimes there is a lot to overcome to get there. #122edchat
Hi #122edchat. My name is George and I teach secondary English in Japan. I also blog/vlog at https://t.co/HVCqyGmhNd. Greatful for @Dsoares_MiddHS for his advice, wisdom, and friendship, as well as all of you for traveling with me on the path of life long learning.
#122edchat
A2: I would take my students to educational trips where they get to experience the real world and learn about different cultures, aspects and be able to view things from different points of views.
And you are doing amazing things with your global connections and SDGs! Such an honor to learn with you, Michael! You are a leader of leaders. #122edchat
A2: I'd go full genius hour/workshop model. Kids work mostly independently with guidance and consultation from me. Kids pursue their passions and publish in authentic ways that engage with the world. #122edchat
A2 -Do school differently...more projects, more field trips, more choice, more passion projects, PBL, conversations and less conformity, less worksheets, less HW different approach to grades, assessments, and course offerings #122edchat
A2 Get out of the building EVERY chance we could get! We would explore places, meet people, and do the work of experts in the field! #122edchat#champforkids
#122edchat A2 Just my opinion... Resources aren't necessary to inspire a St to BELEIVE they can be successful. If the Ss describe who you are with these descriptors you WILL inspire them. WALK THE TALK and role model grace to your kids. #AlwaysBelieve
A1: ...think for themselves by weighing the situation and working toward a common goal and will stand up for what they believe is right for all. #122edchat
A3 In order for the ideal Ss experience, they would need to remember the joy in learning, and the ability to persevere after mistakes are made. #122edchat
A3: Collaboration and confidence. Working together is an essential skill - but I would argue confidence in their own abilities to change the world at a young age is even more important. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't. #122edchat
A2. Having been an administrator for 26 years I sure wouldn't wait for a "YES!" If I knew in my heart it was good for students I would inform the person and move forward. After all it is YESvember! #122edchat
A2: pursue their own interests and support that in whatever ways possible, whether hardware or software or just having someone else capable to do it. We might not alwayd be the right persons to teach #122edchat
A3 To get the most out of this experience, the two skills/behaviors my students would really need are… practice, encouragement, acceptance of their own ideas because… all that's keeping them from bigger and better is their comfort boundaries and a lack of confidence. #122edchat
A3: 1) Empathy. When we can relate to another's situation this opens the doorway to all other matters of the heart. 2) The ability to listen. Some people just need to be heard; not have their problems solved for them. #122edchat
A4: As an educator I must walk the walk & practice alongside the Ss when I ask them to participate in mindfulness & sending #GiveThx. Ss need to see that you value these activities. A shift I would like to make is seeing this happen building wide to benefit all. #122edchat
A3: Two skills Ss really need are the ability to #failforward and (I'll cheat slightly) the 5C's because they all come together on the path to personal greatness.
#122edchat
A3: The skills/behaviors my Ss will need are creativity and empathy. Because they'll have to find an innovative solution to a real challenge people have. #122edchat
A2 explore their world and have shared experiences that will bring equity to all. It’s hard to for Ss to visualize things they have never seen in person. I’d take them to a beach, explore a muesum, see a zoo, anything that will help bring context to their learning #122edchat
A2: Do what I do now. Have students read, write, and talk about the complex ideas and themes in the books they read. It's simple, but it's effective and most importantly it works! #122edchat
A1 Lately, for me, I have had an increase in desire for my Ss to be people who are able to handle their uncertainty publicly, sharing their rough draft thinking with others, and being intellectually curious enough genuinely engage with inquiry.
#122edchat
YUP! Some of my most eye-opening and life changing experiences happened when I left our country. We don't see the privilege that we get to experience daily until it is removed. #122edchat
A2: My administration does say yes unless we don’t have the resources. As a social studies teacher, I would love to provide my learners more field trip opportunities. #122edchat
A3: two skills are curiosity and courage...because I want my students to be free thinkers and confident to challenge the status quo. I want them to push past their own limitations to see life in a new light, fear may be there but their courage will outweigh it #122edchat
A3: Critical thinking, and literacy. Because they will grow up in a world that is increasingly complex, and are bombarded by 1000's of competing interests designed to distract or mislead them. They need to be able see clearly through the fog, the signal in the noise. #122edchat
A2: With this in mind, if I knew my administration would say “YES! Whatever you need! Go for it!” I’d give my students the opportunity to… take charge of their own learning by redesigning the school to meet their needs, their aspirations, & their life & career goals. #122edchat
A2: Problem solving skills and patience is what I would want my students to have in order to develop their inner deeper learning skills to develop mastery in a skill, this was something I spoke to teachers about in CPTs @loliveira55#122edchat
A2: experience the world from different cultural perspectives. Live in a community in India; live on a houseboat on the Nile; live some where other than home—to gain perspective and appreciate home. #122edchat
#122edchat A3 Tough question. 2 skills... 1. Empathy 2. Ability to work with others. We must develop Ss who work together and have empathy for those around them.
A3: Ss need to understand their learning process and strategies- and be given time to utilize them so they can get the most out of experiences. #ExpertLearner#122edchat
A2 I would get my Ss around college professors and professionals who deal with uncertainty and doubt in a professional capacity, and have them interact with my Ss with the content they are facing. Guest speakers, field trips, you name it!
#122edchat
A3: Critical thinking, and literacy. Because they will grow up in a world that is increasingly complex, and are bombarded by 1000's of competing interests designed to distract or mislead them. They need to be able see clearly through the fog, the signal in the noise. #122edchat
A2. Having been an administrator for 26 years I sure wouldn't wait for a "YES!" If I knew in my heart it was good for students I would inform the person and move forward. After all it is YESvember! #122edchat
A1: I want my students to have empathy and understand what it means to be compassionate. They are more than a score or a grade. I want to see how they’ll change the world. #122edchat
A3: To get the most out of a field trip, learners have to be able to bridge the gap between theory and practice. They would need to be able to see the relevance of their classroom learning when applied to the “real” world. #122edchat
A4: I need to articulate to my teachers that it is good to take risks, failure is acceptable and that I will be there to help them plan, implement and reflect. #122edchat
A3 I would want my Ss to have these skills-creative thinking, confidence, kindness, and empathy, then they can be successful in most situations. #122edchat
A3 I want my Ss to use 4c skills to maximize their learning when outside of the classroom. Ss need to see that we can think critically, communicate, and collaborate everywhere #122edchat
A3 growth mindset and empathy because your outlook determines EVERYTHING about your life. Lend a helping hand to those that need it and believe in the power of yet and you’ll find your way friends #122edchat
A3: to make this happen, they would need to realize that every experience is an opportunity to learn and that they are good enough and they need to believe in their gut when someone else doesn't see they value. Both of those skills are very helpful. #122edchat
A2 I would love my students to have the opportunity to visit and experience many different places, like camps, different tourist sights like Niagara, ROM, Sky Dome etc. #122edchat
A2: I would provide my students with opportunities to explore what interests them in a way that impacts others. I also would like to take my students to different schools to see how other children learn. #122edchat
This warms my heart in a special way, Christina. They need to believe that they have the power to change the world. They cannot sell themselves short because they are young. #122edchat
A3: listening skills and self-reflection skills because they would really need to listen and observe which would lead to a self-introspection. #122edchat
A4: Our team is doing a service project in December, packing meals for local families in need. Beyond this, kindness starts at home. We stress to our Ss to serve their families. Sometimes, small shift with the people we are closest to can have the biggest impacts. #122edchat
A4: Two shifts I can make are to constantly think of these skills when I plan and teach & to dare to dream and believe myself. Often our minds talk us out of things that are actually possible...
#122edchat
A5: To Teachers: You're missing out! Find your tribe. Get on twitter and join in on some chats to help you shift your own #Mindset
To Students: Keep on trying. You don't have it, just yet, but you'll get there. How can we change our plan together? #122edchat
A4: to trust in my own courage and try things even when I feel uncertainty the outcome as well as continue to keep my mind open to out of the box thinking...hence #reinventthebox chat tomorrow night ay 7pm to share ways to do so!! #122edchat
I just read an article about the importance of teaching patience and how to deal with boredom in toddlers so that it does not impede their learning later in life - i 100% agree it is a critical skill #122edchat
A3: The two skills my students would really need are organization/planning, and imagination! They need to be able to create their own projects and steps, not just wait for adults to tell them what to do. #122edchat
A3: To get the most out of this experience, the two skills/behaviors my students would really need are…INSPIRATION & VISION because … THAT'S WHERE POSITIVE CHANGE BEGINS. #122edchat
A4) keep pushing boundaries and make sure that people understand the path with effective communication. Need to know the path is the right one #122edchat
#122edchat
A2: I’d give my students the opportunity to… get out of their bubbles and see the world more than just through VR and Skype. Experience it and see that it's a beautiful welcoming place. Go to Laos or Nepal or Morocco... listen and connect.
A4: Better efficiency and better cultural sensitivity. It's important that everyone in my room feels like their voice is honored and acknowledged. Working hard to make sure it feels that way. #122edchat
A4: Knowing there are limits, two shifts I can make within my craft: question how can the Ss drive throughout ? AND How can I design so learning is about relations, connections? #122edchat
A5: To Teachers: You're missing out! Find your tribe. Get on twitter and join in on some chats to help you shift your own #Mindset
To Students: Keep on trying. You don't have it, just yet, but you'll get there. How can we change our plan together? #122edchat
A4: keep abreast with technology n world affairs/trends. The moment I stop learning is the moment my kids will stop having real 21st century guidance. #122edchat
#122edchat A4 I am soon to become a published author. My goal is to inspire other Trs to use #AlwaysBelieve in yourself as their first rule. My dream is to inspire an #AlwaysBelieve school where every room uses this rule. I need to learn how to be a presenter.
A4: Field trips can happen in the classroom virtually. They can also become service learning projects executed by the students outside of school without needing many resources. #122edchat
A5: You're right. You can't. NOT YET. But if you never try, you'll never be able to turn that can't into a can. So, start today. Start right now! No one can stop you from shifting your mindset except yourself. #122edchat
A5: A smart lady once told me, "Our only limitations are those we accept." Thank you, @MarisaEThompson, for shifting fixed mindsets and moving Ts and Ss to places they never dreamed possible. We cannot let adversity be the end of our story. #122edchat
A3: My students would need the skills of empathy and compassion, first and foremost...more than any technological or academic skills. They would need to understand what others experience in an effort to help them. #122edchat
A4: Two shifts that I can make myself are to feel more comfortable when things take a while...these skills won’t come immediately. Also, I want to give my students more freedom to be independent thinkers. They need to be able to try...and fail much more often. #122edchat
A5: I believe in you, not only today but every day. You make a difference in the lives of all you interact with each day. Great [Ts or Ss] like you make this a better place, one that feels like home.
#122edchat
And with that, another week of #122edchat is in the books. I'm dead tired, but I am ready to take on tomorrow because of tonight's discussion. You ALL are amazing! Special thanks to our hostess with the mostess, @MarisaEThompson, for steering "The Mothership" this evening.
A3: I really want to help my kids at building their questioning and curiosity in what we learn so they can build new connections and lead new ideas #122edchat
A4: knowing the skills, shift one is providing experiences that ask student to understand a different culture; shift 2 is not letting them off the hook when we feel uncomfortable. #122edchat
A5 - I’d tell them that “never isn’t part of our vocabulary. Taking a chance to be great is always better than just being okay with average!” #122edchat
Being apart of this chat is always a step forward to reaching our goals for our students and ourselves. I got caught up it all of the great answers and responses tonight I fell way behind! Thank you all for continuing to push the limits! #122edchat
My goodness the ideas and encouragement being shared in #122edchat right now! What an incredible group (and what lucky students to have these teachers in their lives!)!
A5: If colleagues or students think that they can’t, I’ll believe in them and encourage them to believe in themselves. We all need a cheerleader sometimes, especially when we doubt ourselves. #122edchat
A4: Knowing this wish is limited only by my current experience, two shifts I can make myself are... guided by love - to fight harder to move educator mindsets away from the status quo and to keep inspiring students to fight for themselves. #122edchat
#122edchat A5 I don't say a word when my Ss say can't. I just walk to the #BelieveSelfie wall and point to my 1st rule. #ItWorks The flow chart to making my Ss become intrinsic learners is also included.
A3 My Ss would need to know the edges of their thinking, so they would have to be willing to admit out loud when they don't know something, & they would have to have some level of comfort being willing to speak and write about their uncertainty. Not always easy.
#122edchat
I believe we are stronger together.
Do you?
This chat moved at the speed of light with amazing educators sharing their passion.
Here is an easy way to 'follow' them and build your #PLN#122edchat
A4 think outside the box and find ways to bring experiences to kids. Try to tie learning to authentic, ela world problems. Bring in experts to speak. I’ve even used VR to show Ss different places around the world to give them an experience. #122edchat
#122edchat Q4: Knowing this wish is limited only by my current experience, two shifts I can make myself are... Building a culture of trust and collaboration as well as becoming a student of our student and my staff!
#122edchat
A3: To get the most out of this (international, cultural) experience, the two skills/behaviors my students would really need are active listening and curiosity because I want them to build relationships and experiences that stretch their minds and perspectives.
When I saw the 2nd question tonight, all I thought was “the only person who needs to say yes to something is me.” If it’s going to help students I’ll ask forgiveness later. Our job is to do whatever we think is going to help students #122edchat
Thanks @_on11 and @MarisaEThompson for moderating tonight. I loved the way one question led to the other. It really helped me focus. This was a very insightful chat! #122edchat
A5: Seeing a lot of, you can't "YET," but I think sometimes this is too simple. When Ss say, "I can't," I ask, "why not?" If we can assuage the fear, we can get them there a lot faster. #122edchat
... opportunity to see they are more than a letter grade. I hate giving out grades to my students. They all show growth and need to feel special and proud for their efforts. Grades take away something special from teaching. #122edchat
Thanks for having me Michael! Still going through another 75+ but I'm having too much fun seeing these great ideas to stop! (And I'm behind two hours...) :) #122edchat
And with that, another week of #122edchat is in the books. I'm dead tired, but I am ready to take on tomorrow because of tonight's discussion. You ALL are amazing! Special thanks to our hostess with the mostess, @MarisaEThompson, for steering "The Mothership" this evening.
A5. Starting tomorrow, when colleagues or students tell me they can’t, I’ll remember this discussion and tell them what if we still try anyway? #122edchat
I think they just need practice! Brainstorming and problem solving are skills that take time like anything else. It's hard to undo however many years of "just follow the instructions." #122edchat
Thanks @MarisaEThompson and thanks to @MrsMurat for the tag! Great chat! Some of my favorite people in there and now I have even more I can’t wait to connect with. #122edchat
WOW! Just wow. This makes me think of something I heard from @burgessdave about framing questions to get the YES. "What will our road look like?" Brilliant, Ryan! Way to move those kids on from a fixed mindset. #122edchat
#122edchat A5 When colleagues / students tell me they can’t (teach for global/cultural competency), I’ll remember this discussion/tell them that you need to find inspiring peers (you) to bounce ideas off of/collab, then localize UN SDGs to authenticate learning & future wellness
And you are working with the Kinders, right? Such a beautiful group. The world is their oyster! I would give anything to hear some of their hopes, dreams and visions. #122edchat
A4 I am going to look for ways to celebrate admission of uncertainty, and promote academic collaboration around inquiry. I am thinking that I will have some sort of "Got Grit" Doc where they write down how they overcame an intellectual difficulty, then post them up!

#122edchat Q4: Knowing this wish is limited only by my current experience, two shifts I can make myself are... Building a culture of trust and collaboration as well as becoming a student of our students and my staff!
I go with nearly zero instructions, writing prompts, question lists, etc. It takes a few weeks, but you're right: all they need is practice. #122edchat

Just trying to live life, Michael. Just trying to live it. The best I can and with the best people and goals in mind. :) @_on11@megan_hacholski#122edchat
A5: Jumping in late! I’ll remind Ss & colleagues who say they can’t of the power of yet. Maybe they need, practice, additional knowledge, or help, but together we can. #122edchat
I don't ask what do you want to be. I ask, "what is one of the jobs you want to have?" My daughter (5) wants one of her jobs to be: Blackberry Stand person and yell "Blackberrriiieeesss!!!!!"...? And astronaut, but you don't get paid for that. That's just a fun job... #122edchat
Hi Kevin! Glad you could stay up late tonight for #122edchat! Or should I say, "Top of the morning"? @MarisaEThompson was on fire tonight! Great Qs and even better discussion.
YES! It took a principal reminding me there's another year coming, and another. To start now, and keep moving forward, even if we can;t make it happen this school year. And he's right. #122edchat
It was off the charts, crazy good, tonight! So proud of @MarisaEThompson and thankful for @MrsMurat for breaking the Twitter tonight with the last minute tags! #122edchat

And "Sit still. Be quiet. Follow the directions. Don't look at your neighbor's paper. That's too 'outside the box' for me." Plus all the other things that I had shouted at me throughout my schooling years. #122edchat
$5 cardboard viewers! We had a VR field trip last week and a VR Stratford & London visit for Shakespeare! We took trips to Asia, South America, and Europe through an educational tour company, too. It's all possible with just a little effort and the initial decision! #122edchat
A4: to trust in my own courage and try things even when I feel uncertainty the outcome as well as continue to keep my mind open to out of the box thinking...hence #reinventthebox chat tomorrow night ay 7pm to share ways to do so!! #122edchat
Yes! "to dare to dream and believe myself" ... If we expect our students to believe the impossible is possible, we HAVE to model it for them! #122edchat
A4: Two shifts I can make are to constantly think of these skills when I plan and teach & to dare to dream and believe myself. Often our minds talk us out of things that are actually possible...
