Time for #DevDiscuss, an hour-long Twitter chat about a dev-topic.
Tonight's topic is Google I/O and Microsoft Build.
Two big events in the tech space happening right now.
Let's start by asking:
What happened at either event you were following and what stands out the most?
While I've not been following, from the items in my timeline, the only thing I clicked through was on accessibility (#a11y) enhancements from Google. The Morse-code keyboard video was slick.

With Morse code and machine learning working together to support assistive text entry, we've added a new and accessible way to input communication on your @Android phone with the Morse code keyboard—now available in #Gboard beta. #io18
@dotnet and @VisualStudio continue to evolve in wonderful ways, as does C# and there's never been a better time to be a .NET dev with the way .NET Core continues to evolve. #devdiscuss

I don't get why I'd want my "personal assistants" to talk to each other (Cortana & Alexa). It would make a lot more sense if specialized tasks were automatically handed off. #DevDiscuss
Tonight's #DevDiscuss chat, on the topic of Google I/O and Microsoft Build, hasn't been super lively so far.

I've been so busy this week fighting windows and kubernetes I haven't had time to catch up on #BUILD2018 or #io18. From the brief articles I've read it sounds pretty "meh" this year, at least for the areas I follow #DevDiscuss

It's probably one of the biggest announcements we've seen in awhile. This opens the door for cheaper and higher quality machines eventually that will power most apps you use now. With enough juice, we have a contender #devdiscuss

#DevDiscuss I think it means that might next laptop will be a Chromebook. Since most of my work is web based these days, I don't need a power horse when I can ssh into a Dev server to do a lot of my work. I really care about battery life over most stuff.
