Q1) Are rubrics part of your current courses? If so, how are they used (e.g., every assignment)?
#iolchat
jshamsy
Sep 14 @ 12:09 PM EDT
A1) Yes they are used for assignments for grading - gives criteria and helps speed up grading a bit

@jshamsy
You've got a double perspective on this perhaps - are
#rubrics
more useful as a student or instructor?
#iolchat
jshamsy
Sep 14 @ 12:11 PM EDT
@CenterOnlineEd
I would say as an instructor -- I am lazy and not as good at looking at the rubric as much as a student
#iolchat
connortravisedu
Sep 14 @ 12:12 PM EDT
some will have 1 rubric for everything while other rubrics vary on assignment. Gives students a framework for what is expected

@jshamsy
That is interesting! Not sure I would be motivated as a student either. And some rubrics seem to only "state the obvious"

What are your thoughts as a student? Are some rubrics more helpful than others? Do you always review them?
