A1: I hope to learn how to continue improving being an instructional coach, figuring out how to continue to change Ts minds that an ITRT is an instructional coach, and work on some badges. #NoVAedchat

A1: joining late! This summer I hope to learn more ways to combine station rotation, blended learning and PBL all into one big happy family! I also want to practice my watercolor painting more 🙈😊 #NoVAedchat
I read a passage today that I've probably read to 20 different groups of students. A student made a comment about the tiniest detail that I'd never heard from any other student. I hadn't thought of it... and I wrote it! Awesome! #NoVAedchat

A2 last yr I helped students set goals for things they wanted to learn more about and map out when they might learn about on blank calendars; helped them think about community/virtual resources #novaedchat
A2: Sharing all of the different summer enrichment programs that are offered. It is not only summer school courses, @FCPS_ACE has a lot of great enrichment opportunities for students too! #NoVAedChat
I would like to put together a summer historical thinking assignment with current event reading as well as have students read a novel or short story about the end of slavery to prepare for US II. #NoVAedchat
Q2: I think a great way to help kids continue their learning is to talk about how you are going to be learning over the summer. Talking about different ways you can have fun and learn at the same time I believe is important for our Ss. #novaedchat
A1: Hopefully we have already started. Building lifelong, daily readers. Connecting Math to everyday life and building challenges they can look for wherever they are. #NoVAEdChat

#NoVAedchat Q2 I find that I'm not always sure what's offered during the summer so my first step is to talk to the parent liaisons and various stakeholders so I know all of the options. This in turn helps me help inform my students and their parents
A2: I'm not one for highly structured summer assignments but I try to put together a list of resources and options for my Ss to practice the language and dip their toes into a bit of culture in the DC area. keep it fun, allow for choice!
A2 I set up some class playdates & I’m so excited about them! We’ve been emphasizing to our parents that so much learning happens in every day interactions, so I’m looking forward to seeing our families during these summer playdates. Our first one is at the library! #NoVAedChat

A1: I am going to learn to disconnect completely, appreciate Hawaiian beauty and adult beverages, and learn to dodge volcanic ash and lava.
there's a line in it that is pure magic - it comes when the narrator is talking about how she felt when she learned to read for the first time and how words on pages meant something...pure magic #NoVAedchat

Good because its hard for me to get into books sometimes. I have to get hooked by something they are talking about or that its not reading like radio instructions. #NoVAedChat
A4: I made a TON of changes this year. threw out everything from previous years and built all new. next year will be about improving the practice and more subtle shifts. #NoVAedchat
#novaedchat A4 it's easy to get bogged down in my to do list. Next year I want to spend more time in classrooms and building those crucial relationships. Today I got to walk around the school and see all the cool things that Stuart teachers are doing. It was amazing.
A4: I'm wanting to be more organized and do a better job of communicating where we are and where we are going, especially with learning goals and targets #NoVAedchat
A4: The changes I hope to make in my instruction/classroom are the continued growth in evolving into an instructional coach. Helping Ts see that I have good ideas on behavior management, student-centered instruction, etc. #novaedchat
A4 Summer is all about changes for the data tools I support. We hear from schools all year with requests for changes and additions. Summer is when we can make the biggest changes without interrupting the work at schools. #NoVAedchat

A5: not gonna lie, I already have my summer spreadsheet ready to go! adventures with kiddos, time with friends and family, teacher time, crafty time and lazy time! if I don't put it on paper, it doesn't happen! #NoVAedchat
A5 If I learn how to paddleboard, then paddleboarding. If I don’t, then S’mores around a fire...fueled by a large piece of wood I couldn’t figure out how to use. #NoVAedchat
A4: To continue to work w/ our CT to refine our PBLs & create more differentiated blended learning stations w/ our mild, medium, spicy format. I also want to change the structure of some mini meetings during PBL wkdays by using the google calendar appt slots #NoVAedChat
A5: This summer I plan on trying to focus on me this summer. I have a tendancy to focus on others at the detriment to myself. I plan on trying to get to the gym as many days as I can and focus on eating better as much as I can on a Teachers salary. #novaedchat
#NoVAedchat A5 I typically spend the first few days staring at my tv. I need that time to turn my brain off. Then I start to slowly reenter society by going to barnes and noble or the library or playing in my garden. I also pretend that I'm on top chef!
I often say that I teach and live in a middle school. This summer I’ll enjoy my own 13, 14, & 15 yo. Not necessarily a rest, but a much needed change. #NoVAedchat
You can do this!!! I made a change 6 weeks ago and started with 21 straight days of yoga. I've met my apple watch move and exercise goals every day since and it feels GOOD! Not always easy, but getting it done is worth it! #NoVAedchat#44dayssofar
A5: relaxing with hubby and travel friends that we only see once a year. Enjoy daughter and son-in-law's visit. Just appreciate being instead of doing. #NoVAedchat
