A1: by modeling taking risks and thinking differently than traditional educational practices. Reward and praise creativity, share the successes with other staff members, students and parents #PrinLeaderChat
A1: Start by saying yes to ideas....or at least not saying “no”. Think of ways to get around obstacles to allow creative ideas to get off the ground. #PrinLeaderChat
A1: I think you have to model your expectations and make it a safe environment. If you want teachers to take risks, take risks. If you want them to try new things, you have to try new things! If you want them to #DareToBeDifferent, do the same! #PrinLeaderChat
A1: Our educators are leading the way in our area with #personalizedlearning and they are guiding this. They are being creative in how to support all learners. #PrinLeaderChat

Q1: Allow trial and error to be a part of the culture. I grew the most working under a leader that gave me full autonomy- I learned to go from good to great through failure. #PrinLeaderChat
A1: make sure to empower them! I think of @BethHouf and the book lead like a pirate. If they build it it is hard for them to tear it down! #PrinLeaderChat
Hello hello, @naomiharm joining in for brief moment from northern CA #PrinLeaderChat STEM leadership specialist. Will be joining you in Nov. For Future Ready conference in Honolulu once again.

A2: See what others are doing so you can mold it to serve your students and staff. There is nothing wrong with using what others have used to help your students and staff. Social media allows us to gather ideas each day #PrinLeaderChat
A2: sometimes we think we are alone. What is great is connecting with other educators pushing the same idea to learn, share, and support. #BetterTogether#PrinLeaderChat
Great point Yolanda. Autonomy is vital in making change. As leaders, we need to model this and allow Ts and Ss the ability to create and take different paths #PrinLeaderChat
A2 This is challenging work and we need support. We also need different perspectives to make our ideas stronger and to push us to keep going. #PrinLeaderChat
I think is starts with having a fun learning environment where staff is excited & proud. It is hard to be creative when you don't want to come to work because it is negative and you feel like you add no value. Simple but an imporrant starting point. #PrinLeaderChat
A2: “We” is better than “me”. We can always learn from others. No matter how innovative you think you are, somebody somewhere is probably already doing your innovation. Learn from them so you can do it better, more efficiently or effectively. #PrinLeaderChat

I get sad thinking of how much our educators spend on TPT to get resources. We are better together. We can share and support others better. #PrinLeaderChat
A2: It’s essential! There are amazing things happening in schools all over the world. If we get out of our silos & reach out to others, the possibilities are endless! Borrow ideas & add your own twist...It’s a culture changer & difference maker! #CelebrateMonday#PrinLeaderChat
A2 Being an admin can be a lonely job. Especially if you are the only one in your building. A network of trusted colleagues will provide a place to bring & share ideas. To build off each other's success & expand your professional circle. But there has to be trust #PrinLeaderChat
A3: Ask stakeholders in our communities for resources to use. Get old equipment from businesses to use in our buildings. Create fundraisers for specific resources you need in your classes. #PrinLeaderChat
A2: Adding diversity into the change equation, amplifying the ideas of others, colliding individual ideas to observe a new trajectory, avoiding isolation and siloing, developing a human approach to a change process.
A3: Build partnerships with business and industry. Attend events that aren’t specific to education - get around thinkers and innovators in other industries and see where they’re heading. A surprising amount of this going on around the country. Get out & find it #PrinLeaderChat
A3 You have to know what you want vs. What you need. Prioritize and create partnerships with other schools, businesses and parents. Or find solutions to resource challenges by engaging in problem solving and thinking outsider the box. #PrinLeaderChat
A2 It's so important to connect global w/ edu's & Ss, to gain new empathetic perspectives of cultural differences & appreciation of learning accomplishments. An ex to support this is #GlobalMakerDay Oct. 23 to see what it looks like and feels like in action. #PrinLeaderChat
A2 This is challenging work and we need support. We also need different perspectives to make our ideas stronger and to push us to keep going. #PrinLeaderChat
A2: Complex solutions require multiple perspectives, and leaders who don’t work with others reach one-dimensional solutions that foster system inequities.
#PrinLeaderChat
A2: Effective principals collaborate by recognizing that improvement must be grounded in continuing efforts to build trust across the school community. #PrinLeaderChat
A3: Reaching out is so important! Professional development—on Twitter or in person is a game changer for ideas and resources! Knowing what is available in your #CommUNITY is so valuable—tangible resources, skill sets, ideas! And ASK for help! #PrinLeaderChat
A3: if you yourself can’t attend innovation days hosted by corporations, think tanks, and government agencies, send a motivated & passionate teacher in your place. They are great at selling their program. Get your school’s name out there as a potential partner. #PrinLeaderChat
A3. Our @GuidanceFHMS introducesd the Career Cafe where they bring in business professionals to talk about their careers/career opportunities throughout the schoo year! #PrinLeaderChat
A2: Complex solutions require multiple perspectives, and leaders who don’t work with others reach one-dimensional solutions that foster system inequities.
#PrinLeaderChat
A2: When you are collaborating with people who are as motivated to transform education your collective ideas are stronger. Just this week I shared ideas with @JayBilly2 and @Principal_H and we are ready to make a difference in thee schools! Awesome! #prinleaderchat
A4 Twitter! Ted talks, book clubs with structured protocols, professional magazines and journals. More often it is a duscussion with a colleague that provides the most food for thought and reflection on beliefs and practices . #PrinLeaderChat
A4 a great transformational podcast list that have been game changers for me personally & educators I work w/ @bribriggs from CA has gracious listed, & leadership shares from @CurtRees strategies from WI pages 5-7 of this Tech Bytes https://t.co/B0D37RbINN#PrinLeaderChat
A4- on a social justice, implicit bias level Chris Emdin, has influenced me. I also look to Rita Pierson and Mike Schmoker. Recently the podcast business wars has been making me think differently. https://t.co/GNdZbn8Wpm#PrinLeaderChat
A3: “Think differently” by building an advisory team of smart people who hold multiple opinions...and who don’t always agree with you. Don’t neglect face-to-face opportunities to gain insight from those who live your area context and who may not be in education. #PrinLeaderChat
A4: Don’t neglect face-to-face opportunities to gain insight from local contacts who may (or may not) be in education. “Thinking differently” can include an advisory team of diverse people and who hold multiple opinions...and who don’t always agree with you.
