Kids loved reading aloud their roles of a short story today! They figured out pacing and tone so much more quickly than reading alone. Plus, a little fun never hurt! #WeareWayne@LHCMagic
After "testing season" it can be difficult to keep the steam to the end of the year. This article from HotChalk suggests having a special project that you and students look forward to. https://t.co/iLNKt2dD0O#wearewayne
Dan Wilson, Principal Lynhurst Center...A1. I failed. I'm fighting a terrible head cold, mainly due to getting little rest. It's ok, though, because it is MAY, and it is finally WARM! I'll knock it out soon, but just too much to do! #wearewayne
Q2: What movement/brain break activities are you using right now to help students recharge to help them stay focused and centered in class? #wearewayne
A1: Staying active at the gym, getting the yard ready for summer fun and relaxing on the back deck with a good book. I'm hoping to do at least one of these each night! #WeAreWayne
A1: Recharging is really about being in the moment and finding time to focus on "self". For me, it happens between 05:30 and 06:30 each morning @CrossFit317. #wearewayne
A2 I work on my Jeep, with my kids' help, of course! Also, @IMS opens up with Indycars! Watching cars inches apart at 230mph gets my mind off of pretty much everything! Then there's our smiling students. If that doesn't lift you, nothing will! #wearewayne
Q2: What movement/brain break activities are you using right now to help students recharge to help them stay focused and centered in class? #wearewayne
A2: We’ve gone outside to complete lessons to get a break from being in the classroom for months. BDU’s campus is awesome for having lunch outdoors too. A change of scenery is much needed!
A3: I’ve been talking up books to read over summer. Recruiting new members for clubs next year and giving pseudo projects for the summer, though our juniors are headed to #xmester and our incoming sophomores will have an amazing summer bridging program too! #wearewayne
A3: use technology, send some #snailmail, maybe host a get together- stay connected with that relationships piece and have them set some goals b/f the end of the year #WeareWayne
A3: take advantage of technology and stay connected! Reading book clubs, summer lunch, summer safari, online platforms to conduct educational chats! #WeAreWayne
A3 Provide students with a take home summer kit with books, handouts and manipulatives. Also, provide list of summer activities in the city. #wearewayne
A3: What an awesome question. We need to first be creative. Second, we need to provide opportunities to engage...both in person and virtually. Lastly, provide many opportunities through @WayneTwpSchools@WayneTwpEdFound and others for students to choose from. #wearewayne
Q3 last summer I kept in touch with my students through class dojo setting up weekly challenges, as well as putting stamped envelopes in their end of year baskets allowing them to write me throughout the summer! It was really fun seeing the growth of my kinders! #wearewayne
