A3 We hv worked w 100s of schools on this. Each one does it differently; some once a week, some in homeroom, etc

A5 we taught a 1-trimester elective course for 9th graders in StPaul HS. Changed the Ss' lives...and changed my life

A5:Promotion of is about . I celebrate their use, confess my shortcoming to Ss, and often.
Q5: deadlines and ownership of each project! With ownership they want to do everything they can to make anyone happy.
A5: peer editing, peer tutoring, labs seem to provide the most space for soft skills from my observation.
A5: Cooperative learning and using tools like that allow for S voice/self-refl. are awesome for promoting s.s.

However we decided to measure the soft skills, it needs to be done locally, under teacher control and not at the state level!
A6: I measure them with one on one evaluations. The Ss grades themselves then I go over it with them. One category is honesty

Don't measure it unless you are going to use it to drive instruction. Or have the student measure themselves.

A6 Emphasis on soft skills will show in data we already collect. Soft skills= stronger relationships = higher S achievement
A6: Soft skills graded in rubrics with group projects. Easy to identify the SS you needed for the group to be successful.
A6: don't let assessment conflict with everything you want to accomplish in the first place with soft skills!
