Hi, I'm Dr. Cindy Woody, Sr. Innovation & Learning Consultant, Corsicana, TX, & I love my messenger app because it keeps me connected to my family & what's happening in their world. It's like a little virtual hug each time I get a glimpse into their day. #EDpiper
Hey hey #EDpiper!! Jessica, Ed Specialist at ESC Region 12 in Waco, TX...fave app is my curation app @collectcharm ...lets me sort and save my tweets for future use!!
Hey #edpiper! I'm Shari Dawson, an Instructional Coordinator for DeSoto ISD @desotoisdengage and I can't live without @Life360. After this weekend, I'll have 2 boys (ages 17 &16) driving!!! Help!!!
Good evening, everyone! I am @DrJohnsonEDU Principal and co-moderator or #EDpiper. I love my Amazon App (LOL), Google Drive, Productive, SMORE, and ToDo!
Barbara Page, in Waco TX! I cannot live without twitter now- I have fully immersed myself in PD with it on an almost daily basis & grown mt PLN beyond what I expected! #edpiper
A1: We LOVE utilizing the students Google Drive. It’s so easy for them to use and they can all work on something together. It’s fun for me too because I can jump in or look at it later and leave comments. #EDpiper
A1: Any google apps for educatin (google classroom was my go-to when all my Ss had chrome books). I love talkboard for Ss, I started using it after someone mentioned it in another chat! #EDpiper
If we want students to grow, feedback isn't optional. However, it's tough to provide meaningful feedback to every student in every class. Thankfully, there's an app for that! Here's a list of 3 great ones. #2 totally caught me off guard! #EDpiperhttps://t.co/tHThU9jtaL#edtech
Time! There's just never enough of it if you're a teacher. Hopefully this list of 10 amazing grading apps could help rescue you from the grading dungeon! (FYI - The memes on this blog are fun, too.) #Edpiper#edtechhttps://t.co/4HqlMZgfBs
R2: speed grader in @CanvasLMS is amazing since you can have rubrics, type text, And mark areas for improvement. Docs can do that also. @Flipgrid allows for feedback from Ts and peers. #EDpiper
A2: Would definitely encourage everyone to add the extension @KaizenaHQ to their Google docs...you can highlight parts of the document and record your voice in small segments #powerofvoice#EDpiper
We use Google Drive a lot! I like @padlet for group collaboration. I've seen @Flipgrid really work its magic as a collaborative tool. I am anxious to download the new IOS update 12.1 to do the multi-person FaceTime. #EDpiper
A2: Moodle & google forms are my FAVORITES! I like that you can make the responses anonymous! I listened to a podcast yesterday about best practices & it stated: best practices WORK, but let Ss have an opportunity to tell you how it's going in THEIR class. POWERFUL! #EDpiper
I am a big @Mentimeter fan. I use it when doing large room brainstorming. Helps collect feedback and ideas that can then be used in groups! #LOVELOVE#EDpiper

Q2. Struggling to find the just-right digital tool/app to support strong formative assessment for teaching & learning? I love @kdyer13's list of 65 great options. There's truly something for everyone! #EDpiper#edtechhttps://t.co/JsnysZqnIu
A3: For me currently the best app for assessment is Google Forms. I wish they would release the feature of Quiz view and lock them from everything else. #edpiper
I use seesaw for this! Plus, parents are able to see the exact assessments I Am using so current, fast feedback is given from both of us! It definitely helps not have as many questions when RC come around! Our team also uses ClassKick #Edpiper
A3: Schoology! I can pull their grade straight from it and it also shows parents what we are working on. I tried Google forms for the first time today for a quiz and it was 🙌🏻 #EDpiper
R3: I use Forms a lot for different surveys. I do other assessments through @CanvasLMS and a program called MasteryConnect. Not a fan of the last one. #EDpiper
Forms seem to be the most user friendly. Except when students take too long, then I fear they will get timed out and it not save their responses. #edpiper

What I like about Canvas is I can randomize the answers, I can create a test bank so kids have different questions over the same topic, I can set the time. I can do a plethora of different ways to ask the questions also. #EDpiper
Paige from Evant. My favorite app (non educational) is Facebook because it allows me to see what’s going on with family and friends that live far away. It doesn’t replace relationships but rather, it enhances them! #EDPiper
Q4: If you are just getting class sets or 1:1 digital tools for your classroom, you may not even know where to start! Here's a great list of 13 basics. https://t.co/CSa7Jo6tt1#edpiper#tlap
A4: One of my faves for student learning right now is @edpuzzle ...love the way you can take a video and develop it into an ideal lesson! @InsertLearning works the same for web pages. #EDpiper
Whether you're going paperless or "less-paper," digital portfolios are key to storing & organizing student work. Here's a list of 12 apps that can be used for portfolios. #EDpiper#edtechhttps://t.co/rJVajcHrcv
A3 #EDpiper I love to start with my favorite assessment strategies and then pair the technology- it can be as simple as pushing out a graphic organizer in @google drawing and checking for understanding
100 yay! Helps students practice number ordering/counting. You can practice anyway you need (we do 1’s and 10’s) also records them so you can see their thinking! #EDPiper
A4: quizziz, kahoot, & NEARPOD. I have been using nearpod lately for small group review before quizzes & it really identifies whether Ss have mastered the material or not. #EDpiper
A4 So many apps! We love Starfall, @LearningAtoZ Raz Kids, Line em up, sushi monster, prodigy, @brainpop, Writing Wizard, SW bingo, and so many more. #EDpiper
I've seen so much success in classrooms where teachers use QR codes linked to video directions or guides on how to complete centers/stations/tasks. Super cool! Students can create the videos. #EDpiper
#Edpuzzle is amazing! I love pulling in clips and having open ended questions inserted throughout for assessing my students understanding. They love it bc they think they’re watching tv, but they’re also having to answer rigorous questions. #EDPiper
A4: Anything that they can try out, explore and learn from. If it needs to be MS Office, Google Apps, seesaw, or pinterest, if they're learning then it's worth while. #edpiper
A5: Anything with Google and the collaboration piece. Being able to work together in real time from different screens, and the comment section has been huge for some of my kiddos. #edpiper
A4 From a parent perspective- watching my son use Kahn Academy to go deeper based on PSAT scores has been very valuable #EDpiper The more targeted practice- the better (if used w/fidelity and not a filler)
A5: Think it depends on the audience and the need/purpose behind the communication...I love a good visual so I do use @SmorePages and @canva a lot to communicate messages #EDpiper
A5: this is up my alley. apps specifically for communication: proloquo2go, go talk, communication builder, oh there are so many.. but as a speech path my students use them all of the time. #edpiper
A4: Going back for a moment...I think Flashcard Factory from @PearDeck is a great way for Ss to practice vocab words as they develop the flashcards themselves. #EDpiperhttps://t.co/mhQ8NDvBBp
A5: For communicating instant feedback with student work, Schoology works fabulously. Kids can see problems they’ve missed right away and work to correct things to learn and grow. #edpiper
R5: a group of Ts from my school had fun using Hangout while we were in different sessions at a conference on Thurs and Fri. My contribution to the convo was letting them know I was hungry. #EDpiper
Q6: Don't run around in circles trying to use the most apps! Work on routines & habits for keep learning flowing in class & let apps/digital tools add to that flow, not distract. If an unplugged activity is better, don't use an app & vice versa. #EDpiper#edtech#thatpiggytho
A6: Remember, tech amplifies instruction...especially ineffective teaching...always determine whether the learning outcome is being met, not just using a cool tool. #EDpiperhttps://t.co/kmfEQu4oZV
A6 I want so desperately for function to proceed the app! If we could have an the instructional strategy drive the choice of app that will in turn meet the level of thinking and student outcome desired #EDpiper
A6: Just bc there’s an app for that, it doesn’t mean you always have to implement said app. Use what you know and understand first. Then seek out new and see what they’ve got to offer. Newer doesn’t always = better! #Edpiper
A6: You always need to make sure it’s age appropriate, meets the appropriate needs, and creates opportunities you couldn’t do otherwise. Also, never forget the human interaction and relationships are the most important thing for learning! There’s no app for that! 😉#EDpiper
It's important to stay fresh where apps/digital tools are concerned. The stuff we used two years ago may be obsolete when compared to newer, better apps. Find some #edtech folks to follow & stay in the conversation. #EDpiper
Not an app for this! My PE teacher @JalayneRinewalt created this great challenge for movement. She did this on her own time yesterday. So proud of her! #edpiper
A6 I want so desperately for function to proceed the app! If the instructional strategy drove the choice of app that will in turn meet the level of thinking and student outcome desired - we have succeeded #EDpiper
