Interested in student-driven classrooms? Join Dr. Nancy Sulla @nsulla (author of Students Taking Charge, Its Not What You Teach But How, Building Executive Function: The Missing Link to Student Achievement, and more) and educators from all over in #LATICchat on Thursday nights at 8pm ET. We hope to bring together a community of educators to share insights, stories, examples, pictures from their classrooms, and more. We welcome all educators to join; no need to be running a #LATIC classroom.
Tonight at 8pm ET ... #LATICchat friends will be talking about shaping student behavior. New to Twitter chats? We have a "how to" sheet: https://t.co/o6JZtiyZX4
A2 I tell my students they are education vikings. They do not wait for someone to come to them with knowledge. They seek it and conquer it...like vikings. #LATICchat
A3 positive behavior starts with clear expectations and managable goals. People will complete amazing things as long as they experience successful interactions to fuel their fire.

A3) Inspire students with an engaging classroom theme and vision for the year. Make them feel special by learning about their interests and learning preferences. #LATICchat
A4 I use a few:
"If everyone is thinking alike, then someone isn't thinking."Patton
"Accept the challenges so you may feel the exhilaration of victory." Patton

A5 putting the #LATIC structures in place promote positive behaviors from students when seeking to be on the expert board or being brave enough to ask for help. #LATICchat
A5) The Help Board acknowledges the need for help and then gives students the ability to move onto something else. Eliminating the need to wait to be called on which can create opportunities for negative behavior! #LATICchat
A7) If you have flexible seating, set Ss up to experience different seating options within the first weeks of school, and reflect upon the pros/cons of each. This sets a reflective tone, and also sends a message of student ownership of the room. #LATICchat
