We do have a robust employee wellness program for employees. Partner w/ YMCA for expert help.

A1 Employees get a $300 stipend at end of year for completing wellness activities.

Nice. We gave away pedometers a long time ago when those were new. Fitbit would be great.

A3 We do have EAP through Gundersen Health. Added it about 4 years ago.

A3 Yes we have a really high quality EAP that is not only available but promoted

A3: We have had an EAP for several years now. It provides a ton of services to staff members at a relatively low cost.

A4 We have a running club, but our PE program is top notch & provides students wellness at least 2X a week. https://t.co/ndRD1lcsPq

A4 We have Tasty Tuesday for kids to try new foods, gardens on school grounds, Farm to School presos, Fun Run.

A4 Much attention is focused on snacks in classroom/school. Ss have post-lunch recess time to get active + phy ed class.

A4: There are a number of different wellness/health based opportunities that are offered to students throughout the school year.

Do kids bring their own snacks to school?

A4 we have a sweet ropes course group and students can sign up for flextime in the weightroom or fieldhouse but nothing formal

Some recent wellness options for students included yoga, mindfulness, running club, after school weightlifting and boot camp.

Same for us in . School provided must meet reqs. Many kids just bring crackers.

Q5: What are some innovative practices that are taking place in Health/Physical Education classes in your school and/or district?

A5 Our high school has shifted PE to life long healthy activities and away from competitive sports.

A5: We are piloting a personalized PE class based on individual goal setting and tracking of self selected health + fitness goals.

A5 Our 7th and 8th graders have PE daily in 1st and 4th quarters. Not an elective anymore. https://t.co/g6b3UdWef5

Q5: What are some innovative practices that are taking place in Health/Physical Education classes in your school and/or district?

A5 Very cool 2 see change in PE since I was in school ages ago...much more focus on personal wellness, stretching/flexibility, etc.

A5: One of our PE teachers has been working to develop this personalized PE program. It has been well received by participants.

A5 Limited normal competitive sports. CC skiing, archery, roller blading, dance routines. Not just your regular PE anymore.

Our 6th 7th and 8th graders are required to take PE every other day all year long. It is not an elective course.

Our 7th and 8th graders are also required to take Health every other day for a semester.

We do that in 2nd and 3rd quarters. Healthy lifestyle is the focus.

A6 I have face to face meetings with families to determine the levels of support and we plan together. https://t.co/cDlBTpqedK

It begins with a desire to remove barriers by breaking down traditional practices and mindsets.

Q7: How does your school/school district provide support for students with significant attendance related issues?

A6 PLC's meet 2x's/wk to discuss Ss needs, and I know admin/couns./psych meet as well
-
A7 Always wonder w/elem. & mid.schl. kids if attendance/tardies are due to kid or parent
-
A7: It begins with relationships. It is important to get to the heart of the issue.
