A1- student voice should be included because it makes the student more open a comfortable in the classroom
A1-Education MUST be a two way street that fosters collaboration between both teachers & students. https://t.co/XpFCVK47oX
A1 S voice is essential to get student buy in-when Ss have a say in learning the learning is stronger https://t.co/eVt2fTuvCG
You can't have a classroom without students. We need to be allowed to take charge of our education, not be forced into it.
I'm Bridgette Cenac, a senior in the medical academy at AACT
A1 you can't have a classroom without students. We need to be allowed to take charge of our education, not forced into it.
A1: Classrooms should include Ss voice so that the teacher knows what they're doing is working and so they can help if need be
I'm Nichole, Junior at AACT, in the Natural Resource Academy!
A1: School is where students build a foundation for their future. They should have a say in how they're being taught.
this also allows for more engagement from students. Saying what they want to do, instead of what they have to do.
A1: because Ss with voice have better buy-in which leads to more engagement which leads to better educational outcomes!
A1: it makes for an engaging class and we can learn from each other. Ss have amazing ideas and can teach us (Ts)
I'm kenia, a junior at AACT & part if communications arts & media academy!
A1: Students should be allowed to have a say in their education as it's their future
A-1: Classrooms shoild include student voice so that the teachers have an idea of what the students need to know better.
A1: Student voice is important because it makes the class enjoyable for both students and teachers.
A1. A school or classroom should include student voice in order to create an atmosphere that appealing to the community
Same reason why I enjoyed working WITH students... loved using the term "learning associates" instead of students.
We have to learn what we love here in high school! https://t.co/mV452I81fM
A1: School is where students build a foundation for their future. They should have a say in how they're being taught.
A1 we ask employees to take initiative-problem solve & lead-we should give Ss the opportunity to build those skills early on
A1 Empowerment. Ss will be making choices and decisions all their lives. Teach them to make relevant choices about own learning
A1: Student voice is the key to success in a classroom! We can engage more and have a better relationship with teacher
Great job on Question 1!! Question 2 is on its way!
A1: Students & Teachers build a classroom community. Everyone should have a voice. Learn from & with each other
A1- because every student learns differently. If you only teach one way, most students won't get the material.
Yes we need to build those skills early https://t.co/JA7u4ywZzu
A1 Empowerment. Ss will be making choices and decisions all their lives. Teach them to make relevant choices about own learning
Come join us tonight for student voices.
I love when teachers use empowerment It makes me want to do something more than just "go to school" https://t.co/pSx3JxBW6Y
A1 Empowerment. Ss will be making choices and decisions all their lives. Teach them to make relevant choices about own learning
A school should include student voice in order to create an atmosphere that is welcoming to its students
A1: to have a functional learning environment students should have a voice because unmotivated won't interact w/ the curriculum
A1 Students make the school and culture, for example I don't know what AACT would be like without the student body as it is now
Hey are you missing ? then you are missing out! in action right now!
Hey are you missing ? then you are missing out! in action right now!
Also, I think students need to speak their minds sometimes and feel that their opinions are valid & respected
A2 I think it's best to let students run the class. Let us reach each other. Keep it completely open.
A2-Seek input from all including students. Created school core values w/ students every step of the way https://t.co/XymwEtMDk7
A2 provide opportunity & let Ss take risks to take on more-surprise you every time-even in elementary https://t.co/kHDUv6wjX9
A2 always have an open mind about their opinions and let the students be involved
A2 Administrators and teachers should respect the Ss they teach, they're the ones preparing us for adulthood and our future
A2: I think admin can make themselves supportive and make students feel as though they belong at the school and are welcomed.
A2 more small group discussion, after school clubs, online discussion Ss more likely to get engaged https://t.co/3VltQTysid
A2: I used to run a program called Raising Student's Voices & https://t.co/81rEd9RXQq -wide summits for Ss to engage/have voice.
Ts and Admins should communicate often personally with students to see how they feel about a particular class, teacher, etc.
Student do feel most comfortable with other students! https://t.co/MnY48omAxD
A2 I think it's best to let students run the class. Let us reach each other. Keep it completely open.
A1 students are the reasons we have classrooms. Why shouldn't they have a voice?
A2 Provide choices. Ask questions. Listen. Implement. Ss have great ideas about their learning, environment, policies
A2 There should always be a mutual respect between Ts and Ss
A2: Teachers & Admin can take action on any problems that students might face and even have a meeting every 2 weeks to discuss
A-2 Ask students for feedback. Turn the tables and ask students how you can help them become more successful.
Hello from Colorado...joining a little late. A2) I like including students in the leadership meetings.
A2: Ts and Admins should communicate often personally with students to see how they feel about a particular class, teacher, etc
A1- because all Ss learn differently. Let them have a say in how they learn. It's THEIR future, not the teacher's!
A2: Teachers & Administrators should listen and really take in consideration our thoughts and opinions, it makes a difference
A2- letting the students have opportunities to teach other, it opens up more for the Ss to feel empowered an ready to come
The question is... how am I doing providing you all with Student Voice?
And how is doing as a whole?
A2: Teachers and Admin should have the respect for their students and learn to actually hear what they have to say.
A2:Ts & administrators allow the Ss give their opinions & ideas instead of turning them away and not hearing them out
A2. Each class has different dynamics and personalities, teachers should adjust their teaching style based on class composition
A2: To really encouarge the Ss to say their opinion. let them know you will listen to their opinions.
A2- Allow the students to choose how they learn-instead of just saying watch 10 videos on your own, give them more options
AACT especially has this and it works well because students care and build relationships with admin. https://t.co/WjMu34tPR3
A2: I think admin can make themselves supportive and make students feel as though they belong at the school and are welcomed.
I love being a leadership student! https://t.co/qSXIQFXkIz
Hello from Colorado...joining a little late. A2) I like including students in the leadership meetings.
This year myself and others started and our goal is to collaborate with Ss all over the world
A2 as Ts & admin we need to provide authentic opportunities for S voice-not contrived activities with pre-determined outcomes
Hi I'm Lexie Cruz, and I'm in the education academy.
it's important to also help students think critically about subjects. It's common to want to share our findings.
A2: The administrators/ teachers should lend a helping hand for students who need guidance
great point-ask Ss 2 choose how they want to show their learning-what is their passion for the subject https://t.co/4Cq8lhCVeE
A2- Allow the students to choose how they learn-instead of just saying watch 10 videos on your own, give them more options
Great job on Question 2!! Almost time for Question 3!!
A1 Q2 Administrators & teachers should cater to students suggestions in order to make class time more interesting.
A2. Just ask them to voice their opinions so that teachers could help them learn and strive more
That's a great goal! Moving your students to a global classroom. https://t.co/JmM9OFj2yI
This year myself and others started and our goal is to collaborate with Ss all over the world
A2 Teachers are great support beams sharing small things like personal details can make a student feel more comfortable
A2 open dialogue with ss. Expect differences. Stop worrying only about tests. Use curriculum as a guide not instructions
I hope you and join us. We are all elementary Ts but want ms and hs Ss as well.
VOICE is a big part https://t.co/X08bd6gIbn
A2. Just ask them to voice their opinions so that teachers could help them learn and strive more
A2. Give their S's the opportunity to speak up! & create a classroom where you're comfortable to take matters into ur own hands
A2 it's also important for Ts to not make Ss feel as if they are inferior. Establish a relationship and comfort in the class.
A2) Having a risk taking environment where students have a voice and choice promotes an open environment!
A1 Q3: There should be no limit to student voice as long as it's appropriate & relates to the curriculum.
A3- no, I think that Ss opinions should be valued and taken seriously, no matter how ridiculous or offensive to the teacher.
Absolutely not! Why should the Ss feel as if they shouldn't speak their mind?
A3: I don't think there should be. Every one deserves to speak their opinions in order to improve the learning environment.
I love it!! https://t.co/sLfNj2BBKo
A1 Q3: There should be no limit to student voice as long as it's appropriate & relates to the curriculum.
I'm hearing & from Ss tweets right now https://t.co/xNvLZiGeO3
A2) Having a risk taking environment where students have a voice and choice promotes an open environment!
A3) In my experience it's only when the conversation is not moving on.
A3: S Voices should be taken as advice, not a command. One S's opinion should not control a whole class/teacher.
Having student voice creates a more open atmosphere and i don't think an atmosphere can be too open
A3-You have to mindful. Right time and place for anything. Think of Digital Citizenship/Footprint/Tattoo when voicing
A3 Overall, it is OUR education. Ts should be here as a guide, however given student voice comes the desire to learn.
I love and It's really what high school is about https://t.co/mhb1zVSEob
I'm hearing & from Ss tweets right now https://t.co/xNvLZiGeO3
A2) Having a risk taking environment where students have a voice and choice promotes an open environment!
A3 Limits are a part of life: how to live within, how to challenge, how to stretch. Provide limits but listen to SS' ideas.
As long as S's aren't hurting anybody and remain school appropriate, they should be respected & wanted https://t.co/N74PpTkDxV
A3: I don't think there should be. Every one deserves to speak their opinions in order to improve the learning environment.
A3: Student Voice should be valued and allowed to be expressed, that is if it is relevant to topic
A3. I don't think you should have a right to block a students voice as long as it'll help learn & advance
A3: Again... I'll ask you my students...
Do I limit your voice?
Should I?
Every form of student voice should be considered. It is whether the idea is respectable or practical that limits what ss can do
A3 There shouldn't be a limit on Ss voice as long as their voice is being used in an appropriate way and respect is present
A3:There should NEVER be a limit, Ss voices is what creates diversity in a classroom. It's highly important in a ha setting
A3:Don't limit, educate how to use their voices for advocacy&https://t.co/Jzw6fnHWXU them to engage in meaningful conversation.
A3: There shouldn't be a limit as long as it's relevant to the situation/course and appropriate.
I completely agree &this goes for us as Ts as well.We need to hear & be open and it listen to 1 voice. https://t.co/9gTuIfvXcL
A3: S Voices should be taken as advice, not a command. One S's opinion should not control a whole class/teacher.
A3. of coarse you should filter what you say just like any professional workplace! you have to know when your voice is needed.
A3 is a wonderful example of our last tweet. I genuinely enjoy coming to APUSH.
There are always times when people need to stop after it's been going on for too long but you are good! https://t.co/rJ3jYqj33D
A3: Again... I'll ask you my students...
Do I limit your voice?
Should I?
A3 I think we should ask & they can share but somethings are non-negotiable ie starttimes-credit attainment-etc
A3 YES ss have an egocentric limited view of the world. We can help navigate them to broader success. Oh and research says yes.
Q3 Yes, I believe there are limits to Ss voice You Ss are more experienced than my Kinders but they're learning fast.
A3: No because the teachers are there for the sudents and should take in consideration the ideas and opinions of the student.
Because I'm given the opportunity to decipher how I want to learn. My education is in my hands. https://t.co/CyFkCnnKWD
A3 is a wonderful example of our last tweet. I genuinely enjoy coming to APUSH.
A1: student play a huge role in schools and we should be able to represent ourselves so that we can enjoy our education
A3: No limit to the students voice. If they believe in something strongly then stand up for it. But be appropriate about it.
I don't have APUSH, but I entirely agree that is a perfect example. https://t.co/73qnfUrhYm
A3 is a wonderful example of our last tweet. I genuinely enjoy coming to APUSH.
A3 cont-& it gives admin/Ts chance to explain reasons for decisions https://t.co/417Zx9fIk4
A3 I think we should ask & they can share but somethings are non-negotiable ie starttimes-credit attainment-etc
A3: there should never be a lost of students voices, especially in a classroom because we are the FUTURE!
Great point often depends on the students themselves https://t.co/Wne8nzmPyU
Q3 Yes, I believe there are limits to Ss voice You Ss are more experienced than my Kinders but they're learning fast.
A3: When Ss understand the power of their voice &how it can further their education,I don't think...Cont
A-2 Student-led news broadcasts. Let students explore all aspects of the campus and form their own questions. Very fun!
A3b: it will hv to be limited, but in ES,Ss need to understand the purpose of Ss voice relating to academics, citizenship, etc
