Hello again! Jeremy Frick, 3rd grade teacher from Lakeport, CA. ADE Class of 2019 hopeful!! I teach at Lakeport Elementary School! GO TIGERS!!!!!! #AppleEDUChat
Happy Tuesday from Dallas. I'm Mike. I teach engineering and App Development. Creativity might play a role in those courses... OK, I'll fess up. It's a daily thing. That's why I love teaching it so much. #appleeduchat
Wow... I don't think I should share about the weather lately in Austin, Texas, given all of these frigid faces!!! Okay... so it was 70Āŗ last weekend! #AppleEDUchat
A1: We use Google Classroom, Google Drive and iCloud to organize our resources. Google Classroom allows me to sort my work and resources by topic, which is great when keeping my MS students organized. #AppleEDUchat
A1: We use google classroom to keep all our assignments and projects together. I have the students use flipgrid for self reflection recorded activities. #AppleEDUChat
A1: Check out this @ThingLink packed with resources to help students explore the concept of slope! The uploaded image is a #Keynote slide that uses text boxes, shapes, and shadows to serve as a digital graphic organizer. @AppleEDU#AppleEDUchathttps://t.co/sWdUcGgvB2
A1: I used to list them within an LMS, but @MrsKemper has helped me to become a Numbers fan girl! Such a great tool for organizing tasks and resources for your Ss! #AppleEDUchat
A1: I love modeling the work flow of #AppleClassroom when I am co-teaching with teachers. One of my absolute favorite resources is Numbers. It's my go-to when working on a project for students to create an organized layout of content. #AppleEduChat
They get shared through Google Classroom. And all of those small images hyperlink to the note-taking template page that corresponds to them. The tabs are "interactive" too. #AppleEDUchat
Ai. I use numbers to help with managing projects. My students use it to focus in on what they are doing and get the results they want. Thanks @jdeinhammer and @MrsKemper for teaching me how to do this. #appleeduchat
A1: Iām in Moodle & Google sites. I think more important than the tool itself is being consistent about its use so Ss get in the habit of checking the right place for more info! #AppleEDUchat
A1 - I use a site with āLearning Linksā for students as a way to deliver resources. Also blogs where I can embed video tutorials and directions. Students learn for K on how to get there for our lessons. https://t.co/nuuff7PvVV#AppleEDUchat
Q2: What are some ways and/or tools you use to streamline and organize resources for yourself (personally or professionally?) #AppleEDUchat#creativelyproductive
A1) Now that I'm in a global school with colleagues in multiple countries, we have found WeChat to be a great way to share and organize information. #AppleEDUchat
A1 Our LMS for sure - one of the primary duties of my position is to teach faculty how to divide their coursed up into modules that provide clear instructions and access to everything the students need for that week. #AppleEDUchat
A1: One huge reason I like iTunes U is that even though I create a new class every year, I can go into my iTunesU files and find anything from the past year. It keeps me organized, yet I have the flexibility to do something new each year. #AppleEduChat
A2: Personally I use Google Drive to organize all my files. Before we had Apple products I got in the habit of uploading everything to it and putting it into folders. It also allows me to share docs with people who don't have a Mac (yes that's still a thing š) #AppleEDUchat
Numbers is such a versatile and productive app! #YESand Love me some blank sheet for drawing, calculation, media sharing and so much more #AppleEDUchat
A2: Iāve moved everything to the cloud - whether itās @googledrive or Appleās Cloud, it makes it easy to move between devices, and I never have to worry about if I have a file. #AppleEDUChat
I am addicted to Notes. I love is that I can share them across all devices (even my phone) and also @elemenous taught me that I could make them collaborative -which is handy for during meeting messaging. #appleeduchat
A1 I love using Numbers to organize student projects. Each tab is a different phase of the project. This breaks the project into manageable chunks and helps keep students focuses.
#AppleEDUchat
A1: The teachers I work with are dipping their toes in Schoolwork, but many younger grade levels prefer Seesaw! I introduced using Numbers as an organizational tool to our Special Ed Stafd as well!
Amy, digital learning coach joining in from a frigid Cincinnati! #AppleEDUchat
A1 We love @seesaw for workflow and management in primary -- and for collaboration and sharing! Using announcements to send images and folders to organize work makes it easy for young kids to create, share, participate, and interact.
#AppleEDUchat
A2: I use Apple #Numbers to organize my lesson plans. Amazing resources are shared daily, so I add resource links to specific days in my plans. That way, I donāt forget what I have! Details and a sample template here: https://t.co/uuHTiEJwXG@AppleEDU#AppleEDUchat
A2 Well-organized bookmarks and folders are imperative. Folders in folders help a lot. Matching my organization systems and naming conventions across both has made everything go smoother. #appleeduchat
A2: I like the app Things by @@culturedcode This keeps me organized for both school, home, and my own kids. #AppleEduChat Check it out. https://t.co/GYMQBrAHwp
A1: I LOVE ā¤ļø to use @Seesaw activities and folders... Seesaw does not only allow me to organize resources for my students, but it also allows me to keep parents informed of class activities.I also use QR codes, hyper docs, and created my own iBook for my students #AppleEDUchat
A2: I love that my Keynotes & Pages work syncs between my devices. Build & access anywhere (mac, iPad, iPhone) THENā¦love to AirDrop to my students. :) #AppleEDUchat
A2: Iāll be honest. It can be a bit of a hot mess! But Iām getting better with my Notes, Bookmarks, email folders and finder organization! Life goal: do more document tagging!! Why havenāt I been using this?!? #AppleEDUchat
Ai. I use numbers to help with managing projects. My students use it to focus in on what they are doing and get the results they want. Thanks @jdeinhammer and @MrsKemper for teaching me how to do this. #appleeduchat
A1: Our LMS @Blackboard has truly helped transform learning. It's so much more than just a place to store resources --it's a tool that helps deliver content based on need/interest, assess understanding, submit work, and collect valuable data. #AppleEDUchat
A2: I geek out on color-coded folders and emojiāed names on folders in my Google Drive. I also created a wallpaper for my Mac that has columns for immediate use docs (bell schedules, phone extensions, templates, etc) #AppleEDUchat
A1: Some great tools our team uses to organize resources are Apple Classroom. Handles workflow great! Also See Saw. Always encourage the use of your LMS because once you create it you can edit it and share it with other team members #AppleEDUchat
A2: My students love to use Reminders as an assignment notebook. Nothing is better than clicking the little circle once an assignment is completed! #AppleEduChat
A2: for my own organization, Iām a big fan of Notes! Itās convenient, takes all manner of information (pics, drawings, links...) and is available (& Syncs!) on all of my devices! #AppleEDUchat
A2: I do love my Google Drive, but it does get cluttered. Many, many folders! I use my Airdrop daily, when I take screenshots for tutorials on my Mac and wish to work off of my iPad. #AppleEDUchat
A2: I've been trying to work with the Rocketbook Wave Smart Notebook lately which takes any handwritten notes and magically shares them into different locations within my Drive. #appleEduchat
A2: Reminders, Tasks, and my Calendar are a must during the school day! A colleague @BandmasterJJH recently told me about the app @Pocket That may be my new Twitter Resource organizer! #AppleEduChat
Q2: What are some ways and/or tools you use to streamline and organize resources for yourself (personally or professionally?) #AppleEDUchat#creativelyproductive
A2: I like to do audio messages on the way home from school using Notes on my iPhone. "Hey Siri" and everything on my mind is accounted for before I get home! #AppleEduChat
A1: The easiest and quickest way I have used is airdrop, but when preplanned and thought out I use Apple Schoolwork. Love sharing on our school photo share, @Seesaw@Flipgrid and just straight through email. #AppleEDUchat
A1 @AppleEDU Numbers (surprise!) ... I love how I can provide clarity around the big picture of the learning experience, use shapes for visual images, audio buttons for explanations, media placeholders for students to respond, ... so many benefits! #AppleEDUchat
A2: Iām finding that I say, āHey, Siriā into my watch to set reminders in front of my students. Modeling setting remindersā¦ORā¦just worried that in a nanosecond I will forget! #AppleEDUchat
A1: Having an LMS (@BlackbaudK12 ) is a lifesaver for staying organized! I also love using Apple Classroom to help me quickly airdrop things to my students #AppleEduChat
The iWork suite has gotten so versatile You can draw, calculate, organize, create, and absolutely organize anything on each platform - just a matter of HOW and goals #iWork#AppleEDUchat Great syncing
A2: Personally, I was using Notes and Reminders to help stay organized. Lately, however, I've started using Numbers to organize everything from feedback to budgets. #edtech#AppleEDUchat
A2: I am a To-do list freak and find that my todo list on my calendar works well for my organizational style! Setting dates in my calendar āto-doā my tasks is helpful. Iām also getting back into good notes with my home iPad and #ApplePencil. #AppleEDUChat
A2: Personally, Google Drive and Keep are super helpful! I also LOVE the @NotabilityApp ! It's my favorite iPad app for workflow and productivity. #AppleEduChat

The iWork suite has gotten so versatile You can draw, calculate, organize, create, and absolutely organize anything on each platform - just a matter of HOW and goals #iWork#AppleEDUchat Great syncing
I also would love to use Schoolwork, but it's not an option for us because we don't have managed Apple IDs. Hoping that restriction changes down the road. #AppleEduChat

A2: I like to do audio messages on the way home from school using Notes on my iPhone. "Hey Siri" and everything on my mind is accounted for before I get home! #AppleEduChat
A1 We love Keynote too and are experimenting with kids keeping learning journals there. They can easily embed images, video, audio, and now drawing. Plus all the formatting tools are so familiar for them! #AppleEDUchat
A2: I use the Noteability App to organize my meetings with teachers, but I need to become more organized with this as well! Think Smarter! #AppleEDUchat
Spreadsheets are underutilized by staff and students alike. I am planning to run a PD on Numbers before the year is done. I think it is the hidden gem of Apple's productivity apps #AppleEduChat

A2: This is one I did for our teachers a few years ago. I love me a custom desktop organizer wallpaper - makes me all kinds of happy!. #AppleEDUchat#creativelyproductive
A3: I adore creating/designing math lessons (SO MANY amazing tools and resources to use to CREATE) and I wish I spent more time on my other love ā music! Singing and creating music using #GarageBand is something I should do more of! @AppleEDU#AppleEDUchat
A3: I would love to create more videos and blog posts! I wish I had time to create more resources for my staff to help them continue to grow and learn. #AppleEduChat
Yes! This is so much a part of my life I didn't even think about it when this question was asked. I set my alarms up to play different music for different tasks! #AppleEduChat
Lurking and jumping in late to #appleeduchat A3: I wish I spent more time going out and snapping photos or could get myself in a better rhythm for posting to https://t.co/9noYGZKxmz but I fear some of that is organization. š
A3: I wish I had more time to just create. My new job has been taken over by meetings, which means I donāt actually get to work with teachers and co-create. Currently working on making our phonics program more interactive with Keynote and @seesaw activities though! #AppleEDUChat
A3: I absolutely LOVE these custom desktop designs. I'd love to have more time to get myself and my students organized with creative ideas like this. #AppleEDUchat
A2: This is one I did for our teachers a few years ago. I love me a custom desktop organizer wallpaper - makes me all kinds of happy!. #AppleEDUchat#creativelyproductive
A2: Organization is my Achilles heel! Looking for any and all suggestions! The āstacksā feature on the newest MacBook update is MY FAV!!! #AppleEDUchat
A3 Organize and clear my laptop - I am a digital hoarder! I recycle and remix all the time, so I tend to save everything - and it ALL brings me JOY, thatās my problem! #AppleEDUchat
A3: Use iBooks Author to write more tutorials and books on educational tools. There is not enough time in the day to work, be a mom and wife, and write good content. There are no cloning devices available yet, Apple?? #AppleEDUchat
A3 Getting comfortable with Apple apps after working in GSuite has been a huge transition. I'm working to hold myself accountable to deeper learning, but I'm less efficient than my patience allows! #appleeduchat
A3: I wish I had more time to blog. I love sharing ideas, processes, & teacher lessons but there is only so much time in the day and sleep is a biological imperative. #AppleEDUchat#creativelyproductive
A2 Honestly I am a mess. I like keeping books in Paper 53, I set up notebooks for different topics and they are always there to return to. #AppleEDUchat
Definitely wish I had more time to dig into podcasting, garage band, and the super awesome features of keynote like magic moves. Those are my top priorities! #AppleEDUchat

A2: my watch keeps me on time with reminders from my calendar. Personally I organize my life using the Numbers templates... budgets, workout plans, spending reports #AppleEDUchat
A3 I wish I had more timeā¦ period. Never enough hours in the day. In general, I wish I had more time to make instructional videos - they always take longer than I think they will. #AppleEDUchat
A3 I would love more time to draw on my iPad. Iām the teacher at our school that only uses an iPad and I have it all the time with me. :) #AppleEDUchat
A3) I wish I had extra time during the week, when Iām making progress on new Numbers project. Lose momentum when it is a day later I can go back. Look forward to days off for that. #AppleEDUChat
A3: What would I create with more time? Oooh. I think Iād make a #sketchnote on the dayās concepts for every class (& ask Ss to do so, too!) #AppleEDUchat
I think sometimes it's about those small transitions. #classroomclips is always a big winner just because we can use it for so many different things and it is a DIFFERENT tool #AppleEduChat
Thanks! The first one took me a bit, but once you have a template and a good idea of what the sections need to be, you can crank them out pretty quick. #AppleEDUchat#creativelyproductive
A3: Just having time to sit and create would be amazing! ha ha I would love to really work more with the Keynote Animations for student projects. I feel like there is a lot of potential to be shared. I also need to figure out my Cricut Machine. #needmoretime#APPLEEDUCHAT
A3: I wish I had more time to designate for tech time in my math class. I love using technology, but sometimes my Ss get frustrated because I don't have a lot of time to give an explanation about each app we use. Working on creating short videos to help! #AppleEDUchat
I find myself reading all the time online but don't take the time needed to share my own ideas or the work of my students. I've read many of your blog posts and they are fabulous! #AppleEDUchat
A3: I wish I had more time to blog. I love sharing ideas, processes, & teacher lessons but there is only so much time in the day and sleep is a biological imperative. #AppleEDUchat#creativelyproductive

A3: I wish I had more time to really create some webinars. We live in such a fast paced world I work in a district of 147 schools and I can't make it to all of the schools. I really want to expand my reach. #AppleEDUchat
Our student iPads are not managed at all. District IT staff doesnāt like to mess with them. Our on site IT person created a school appleid to use on them. #AppleEDUChat
In reply to
@KammasKersch, @appyteacher, @KressTech4
A1: My district at secondary schools uses Schoology as an LMS, so I use that for much of my US History, APUSH and Gov students to submit work. I use a lot of hyperdocs for pushing content to students #appleeduchat
What about having students be the leaders? Any possibilities for them to teach others or make resource videos? That's where I always found the most success in my classroom with new tools. #AppleEduChat
Absolutely - through these visuals Ss are truly synthesizing the information and strengthening their creativity, communication, and organizational skills! LOVE LOVE #AppleEDUchat
Q4: If I could only choose one tool to design content for my students, it would be ______________ . Explain and/or share some of your favorite examples. #AppleEDUchat#creativelyproductive
I LOVVVVVEE Pages, and I use it everyday! When creating tutorials for others, I will use Pages and convert to PDF. When I am looking to share content more globally, I use iBooks Author. Both are my go to writing tools! #AppleEDUchat
A3: I wish I may, I wish I might... have more time to collaborate with other districts / integrators AND collaborate with our administrators to help them be instructional leaders with their integration of technology into their practice. #AppleEduChat
I have gone through the entire #EveryoneCanCreate Music book and am working with @skibtech on a collaborative student project. I want to continue to develop my music making skills as there is so much more to create! Oh... to be as cool as Justin T! #AppleEDUchat
Q4: If I could only choose one tool to design content for my students, it would be ______________ . Explain and/or share some of your favorite examples. #AppleEDUchat#creativelyproductive
A3: I wish I had more time to create an iBook. I have been starting on a concept for a book called #Careativity which revolves on the intersect of fostering relational teaching and expansion of student creativity #AppleEDUchat#AppleDistinguishedSchools@AppleEDU
A3: I would love ā¤ļø to have more time ā° to create a podcast š. Itās been on my mind and would love to achieve this goal to connect w/ my students and since Iām planning to release bilingual episodes, I hope to connect w/ parents as well. #AppleEDUchat
A2: Spreadsheets for keeping track of all the media (YouTube clips, videos, podcasts, etc.) to use with my different classes. Lots of Drive folders, and I have a collection of Spotify playlists for my APUSH Ss pertaining to each period of study. #appleeduchat
Q4 is up: If I could only choose one tool to design content for my students, it would be ______________ . Explain and/or share some of your favorite examples. #AppleEDUchat#creativelyproductive
A4: Numbers for sure -- here are a few examples of how I use Numbers in my science class to organize projects and labs https://t.co/Bxzeijh65y#AppleEDUchat
A3: Is everything a fair answer to this?!? If I had to pick, Iād spend more time creating templates for teachers in Numbers, Pages, and Keynote, and find ways to take further advantage of the Apple Pencil! #AppleEDUchat
Yes... and I LOVE to use Notes to collaborate lately. I appreciate that the most recently updated notes are at the top ... and that I am notified when my colleague adds ideas! #AppleEDUchat
A4: Keynote! I can export it as a movie, I can add links, images and video, and if needed, I can convert to Powerpoint and Google Slides for non-Mac learners #AppleEDUchat
A3: I wish I had more time to WRITE. I have outlines & notes stockpiled in my iCloud, but I can't seem to find the time to complete them. Planning, grading, & writing content/PD always seem to monopolize my "work" time. #AppleEDUchat#edchat#teacherlife
Q4 thanks to @TechChef4u: If I could only choose one tool to design content for my students, it would be ______________ . Explain and/or share some of your favorite examples. #AppleEDUchat#creativelyproductive
A4: Iād have to choose Keynote - you can write, draw, link, insert video, pics, and tables... pretty much a one-stop shop. Although Iād really miss all the other apps! #AppleEDUChat
A3: I wish I had more time to spend with our student-led news team. We have new equipment & we are trying to post video segments to our YouTube channel daily. Empowering Ss and helping them be creative with the news is my goal. #AppleEDUChat
A2: I use google sites in my own google drive in order to store links to lessons and websites that I like. I do not publish this site for my students. #AppleEDUChat
Love that! We recently started digitizing some of our speaker series for parents into podcasts (they were originally videos): https://t.co/5mAwmr8fMY#AppleEDUchat
A4: I ā¤ļø Numbers! I could create everything math related every day for my classes. Recently, I have created an organization doc to share with my 7th grade curriculum team as a test creation tracker. #AppleEDUchat
A4: Keynoteā¦love, love, love. Iāve been using it since 2011 for lab reports & upgrades make it the best. Can create science animations, sorting activities, discussion notes, sketch notes, and more. #AppleEDUchat
You can do all this on all the apps! They are so flexibleā¦ but each has a little special strength Definitely too hard to choose just ONE #APpleEDUchat
A4: keynote with all the bells and whistles thrown in! Love the ability to add animations, audio, drawing, video, images, and on and on and on! #AppleEDUchat#cantevenchooseone
A4: This is such a hard question!!! I think it might have to be @explainevrythng because I can make so many different kinds of resources. #AppleEduChat
A4: Such an easy question for me. Keynote. Keynote. Keynote. Is there any app better than Keynote? There are so many uses beyond creating a presentation! It's like the Swiss army knife of technology. #AppleEduChat
Q4: One tool is HARD! I love when take the best of different tools and put them together to make something new. Maybe iBooks Author because all the other cool tools can be embedded?? #AppleEDUChat
A4 picking just one is so hard but I would pick Numbers! It has all the power of pages but the ātabsā just take it to another level. Creating student journals to demonstrate their understanding has me jazzed! #AppleEDUchat
A3: I just made the jump to HS after 14 years in MS. Time is eaten up trying to learn new contents. I miss making flipped videos and podcasts for my Ss. I'm still doing them, but not at the rate previously. #appleeduchat
A4: one tool that I love for creation is Clips. It is easy to use, incorporates speaking and writing, and is supper fun with the effects and bling you can add! Especially great for English Learners #AppleEDUchat#appledistinguishedschools@AppleEDU#clips
@karlyb sketchnoting tutorial is great. a little big in file size. but I used it with our future teachers last semester. keynote makes a great consumable text. #appleeduchat
We have made jingles, sold a product, done book reviews, highlighted a famous person in history, smashed it with @Flipgrid, had students create tutorials, used it for directions in centers just to name a few #AppleEDUchat

@marek_beck, @TurnbullChris, @Flipgrid
A4 WordPress. Itās the Swiss Army Knife of the online world - one way or another, you can put just about anything on a page (links, documents, maps, audio, video, social media posts, code, etc.) and make it available to anyone on the web https://t.co/6wU3uOy5gp#AppleEDUchat
I love Pages to design with, you can do almost the same things as high end publishing programs. Love keynote with the new shapes and magic move. I am also a fan of the 3 #adobespark apps #AppleEDUchat
A4: Oh no...one tool?!? I'm really liking the @ARMakrApp app. I just wish students and/or I could create content and have others interact with it...so it didn't have to be on the same device. Looking forward to some American Revolution and math activities. #AppleEduChat
Q4 is up: If I could only choose one tool to design content for my students, it would be ______________ . Explain and/or share some of your favorite examples. #AppleEDUchat#creativelyproductive

Q4: If I could only choose one tool to design content for my students, it would be ______________ . Explain and/or share some of your favorite examples. #AppleEDUchat#creativelyproductive
A4: With using iPads as shared devices in my room, I LOVE the fact that students can password protect their Pages & Keynote files. So great. #AppleEDUChat
A4 We're currently loving @AdobeSpark. Creating Posts in the app and then uploading to @Seesaw, @Flipgrid, or #classroomclips is a fun way to app smash. Embedding Videos and Posts into Pages is another great opportunity! #appleeduchat
A4: Keynoteš«āØš»š. Anything that a teacher can think of (besides posting attendance) can be done on this amazing šš„ tool! There is no limit to šcreativityš when using Keynote. #AppleEDUchat
A4: Without question - Keynote. Itās the Swiss Army knife of apps and does it all. Templates, graphs, charts, animations, drawing, tables, custom canvas sizes, and soooooo much more. #AppleEDUchat - Iāve even heard of someone designing their bathroom remodel in Keynote! š
Q4 is up: If I could only choose one tool to design content for my students, it would be ______________ . Explain and/or share some of your favorite examples. #AppleEDUchat#creativelyproductive
A4: Numbers - I create everything with this app! Work plans, journals, lab books, class notes...whatever! I would love if the tabs could be color coded or if they could stack but it is totally my go to app. #appleeduchat
A4: Only one tool?! š¬ I'm going with Numbers. It's so incredibly versatile and keeps things so organized! I've been working on this document to help teachers get started with podcasting. #AppleEDUchathttps://t.co/2hw4Wrbz3s
that is the thing.. those things are great. .but we can't always produce to that level.. it takes so much time. #appleeduchat . We have to do what we can do.
A3 Near the top of my to-do list is to complete my set of Anticipation Guides for math (and translate into Spanish) using ... brace yourself... @AppleEDU Numbers. #AppleEDUChat
A3 I wish I had more time to to organize all of my resources and ideas. When I was in the classroom I had a binder of all the resources and lessons for each topic. Maybe I will get a start tomorrow since I have a cold day! Lots of great ideas here tonight

Q5: What tips and best practices do you use in your classroom to support students with managing their own digital distractions? #AppleEDUchat#creativelyproductive
Tough to pick just one app! Keynote is a multi-functional tool for sure - presentations, sketchnoting, graphic creation, & more... but Numbers seems like a powerful tool for multi-step learning activities too #BetterTogether#AppleEDUChat
So I feel a little guilty. there are some great tools that Keynote can replace.. for small videos and such. but I want to continue to support innovators. #AppleEDUchat
Q5 is up via @mathycathy : What tips and best practices do you use in your classroom to support students with managing their own digital distractions? #AppleEDUchat#creativelyproductive
A5: Apple Classroom has helped with management of digital distractions as well as helping to streamline navigating students to various apps and websites. When I airdrop a resource to them, they love it! #MAGIC@AppleEDU#AppleEDUchat
a5) for future teachers, I am a torn.. they have to learn to manage timelines and due dates but things like @CanvasLMS will do it for them.. #appleeduchat
What he said! Ha! Seriously, timer on the big screen get used on individual iPads after awhile. Students learn to budget their time with clearly defined tasks & time constraints. #AppleEDUchat
Q5: What tips and best practices do you use in your classroom to support students with managing their own digital distractions? #AppleEDUchat#creativelyproductive
A5 Giving the Ss some time to explore on the iPad when tasks are complete is a good way to encourage them to work efficiently. My kids mostly want to do green screen and take photos #AppleEDUchat
A4 - Put the cover on your iPad, turn off you monitor, move your chair away from your computer - sometimes I just need a few undistracted minutes to communicate key lesson ideas. #AppleEduChat
Q5: What tips and best practices do you use in your classroom to support students with managing their own digital distractions? #AppleEDUchat#creativelyproductive
I love the Share to Classroom extension for the Chrome browser. One click, and everyone is on the same webpage as me...GREAT attention getter! Works on all devices! #AppleEDUchat
A5: this is a fabulous question! So important for Ss and Ts to find strategies! I love that iOS 12 brought more customization to Do Not Disturb! Also worth spending some time in the Notification settings to help Ss manage what they want. #AppleEDUchat
A5) We will all set guided access as a group to stay on task on rough days. Modeling helps as does peer support. Having 20% time to work on personal projects is very motivating for young adults. #AppleEDUChat
A2: I make tons of folders on my desktop for my work and personal computer. I'm currently in a Master's program and it has been a lifesaver keeping all my assignments in separate folders. I also have different folders in my Google drive. #AppleEDUchat
A5: Apple Classroom is an incredible tool for helping students manage distractions. It reminds them to stay on track. I also like to give them a todo list on the board so that they always know what they can move onto next. #AppleEduChat
A5: I think it is about the culture that you create in the classroom. Giving students explore time when having an intro to new tools. Apple Classroom is great for work flow and management. I also like the term "Apples up" for a quick stop and listen cue if needed. #AppleEduChat
Q5: What tips and best practices do you use in your classroom to support students with managing their own digital distractions? #AppleEDUchat#creativelyproductive
A5: Apple Classroom is the best to manage devices when you can't see all the screens from where you're standing. Walking around helps and so does having specific ways they should be standing on their desks/tables. Brightness is important too, MS'ers are sneaky! #AppleEDUchat
A2: I make tons of folders on my desktop for my work and personal computer. I'm currently in a Master's program and it has been a lifesaver keeping all my assignments in separate folders. I also have different folders in my Google drive. #AppleEDUchat
A5: I like to give students suggested time limits. Example: 10 minutes creating your story board, 10 min recording, 10 min polishing your video. Different times for any given assignment, but you get the idea. Ring bell at each suggested time. Works for #middleschool#AppleEduChat
Students are the BEST teachers. They love to show what they know. They are my fav presenters at conferences and at school. They are a underused resource! #AppleEDUChat
A5: Some tools our teachers use with kids to keep the focus are the visual timer so students can set their rotation times, Apple Classroom to lock students into Apps (but need ideas because students discovered the reset to get out), and nothing beats engagement!!!! #AppleEDUchat
A5: I always tell Ts to set realistic expectations. If WE can't make it through a 54 minute class period without a quick brain break to check email or walk around, then we shouldn't expect that of our Ss. That, and APPLE CLASSROOM!! #lifesaver#edtech#appleeduchat
A5 Apple Classroom, proximity monitoring, and classroom routines are everything. Also, @CommonSenseEd new #DigCit curriculum providing opportunities for media balance and well-being has initiated some GREAT conversations #appleeduchat
A5 #AppleEDUchat give them time to be distracted, give them 5 mins every so often to unwind and do what they want to do on their devices. Time out is important and helps them to self manage.
Every piece of actual furniture in my house lived in a virtual version of my house in #Keynote first! (As close to scale as possible, ha!) Designed our deck in Keynote too! #AppleEDUchat#EveryoneCanCreate
A5: Beyond having students-led ongoing conversations to address monitoring our norms, we've used apps like StayFocusd, Moment, OneTab, and timers #AppleEDUchat
Apple Classroom is great tool for teachers to proactively guide students to the apps that they want students to use & to highlight student work examples for class discussion
#AppleEDUChat
A5: With HS Ss in my room, this is a hard sell. I want them to feel like they are being treated as adults. If the phone is out, its on the desk face down- no trying to hide it. I bring in a lot of articles on brain and learning. Above all, model it! My phone is away.#appleeduchat
A4 Numbers... for all of the reasons Iāve shared AND bc it has many of the same features that appear across the iWork suite (annotation, audio, ...) hereās another example of a math student workflow: https://t.co/EIpiz6Qq7K#AppleEDUchat
A5: Give students choices and a set of different tools for learning. Encourage students to work collaboratively and spend time discussing content to refine communication skills. #AppleEDUChat
A5: SO agree with this - kids need downtime to check all the things just like adults do -- also making sure I have engaging lessons that are more fun than their distractions #AppleEDUchat
Yep. Best way to help with digital distraction is to present digital learning that they cannot take their eyes from! Relevant learning wins every time. #AppleEDUchat
Students really liked it! And it brought on great conversations with students and staff too. It was really just about awareness which I think was so powerful. #AppleEDUchat
A5: This is an interesting & unique challenge that we like to approach with active listening strategies, using the phrase āapples upā to get the kids attention and using Apple classroom to direct students where they need to be. #AppleEDUchat
Native iPad timer app is a great tool for students to set alarms to work for focused amount of time & make sure to take a break to stand, stretch, and work off of the iPad - even get outside when it's not subzero!
#AppleEDUChat
A5 #AppleEDUchat if you really need to their are a few self management apps, but I like using screen time, getting students to reflect on how they used their device during the day. A great place to start conversations. They can then use numbers to track and graph their use
A5 I show faculty how to embed videos from other sites into their LMS modules instead of providing a link to the other site - it helps the students to stay in the LMS and prevents them from getting distracted while theyāre at that other site. #AppleEDUchat
A5: I teach students mindfulness. My favorite app is @calm. Students all have the free version, but they give the paid version to teachers. Apply here - https://t.co/86hvreU9xl This helps students to focus when they need control. #AppleEduChat
TOTALLY AGREE - fighting ādistractionā is not about controlā¦ itās about OUR work in engaging students, sparking curiosity, and offering them the power to take ownership of their learning with excitement #AppleEDUchat#drive
A4: We have also used #Pages#Numbers and #Keynote to support learners with visual schedules and symbolic vocabulary to support independence. #AppleEDUChat
Q6: What is one thing (personally, professionally, instructionally) that you've learned that you can (or plan to) put into action after this chat? #AppleEDUchat#creativelyproductive
A5: when I need studentsā attention, I ask them to put their device in courtesy mode. In other words, cover the screen or put the iPad down somehow so that they arenāt distracted while I give instructions. We also use Apple Classroom to monitor. #AppleEDUchat
A5: First, I want to say that Jen & I finally figured out the time difference so we could participate in these chats - And that leads me to my reply that I use the Clock app to help students manage their digital devices. #AppleEduChat#NoPolarVortexinHawaii
#AppleEDUchat I think it is important that we donāt rely on these monitoring tools, we need to give them the skills to self manage, so they continue best practice when we are not around to keep an eye on them. Monitoring tools are my last resort
A2: This is one I did for our teachers a few years ago. I love me a custom desktop organizer wallpaper - makes me all kinds of happy!. #AppleEDUchat#creativelyproductive
I have to check out early. Thank you @TechChef4u@mathycathy and everyone else for the ideas, inspiration and motivation to go out and get a little more creative this week. #AppleEDUChat

A6: For sure, personally going to use the desktop image idea on my Mac. Love that! Also, going to push the digital down time challenge/idea for school. Students could use some support there. #AppleEDUchat
A4 My one tool has to be Numbers it is really a versatile app. Hereās an example of a project the students are currently working on https://t.co/sV94dasclC#AppleEDUchat
A6: I plan to set a calendar reminder for the #appleeduchat so that I can learn from all of you and share my ideas. Totally helps us all grow as educators! Thanks everyone!

A6 I have applied for the calm app to use in our class during our mindfulness breaks. I will looking into more ways to use numbers throughout my day! #AppleEDUchat
A6 (Small Tasks) I want to look into shortcuts with Siri and password protect our pages projects on shared iPads! (Large task) I want to share the power of Apple tools with our teachers - they push student creativity to new levels! #AppleEDUchat
Q6: What is one thing (personally, professionally, instructionally) that you've learned that you can (or plan to) put into action after this chat? #AppleEDUchat#creativelyproductive
A6: It may have to be the desktop organizer. Organization is one of my small goals this new year. The digital projects and resources pile up so quickly. It reminds me of when I had a desk in my classroom, and that was exactly why I tossed it. ha ha #AppleEduChat
Q6 thanks to @techchef4u: What is one thing (personally, professionally, instructionally) that you've learned that you can (or plan to) put into action after this chat? #AppleEDUchat#creativelyproductive
A6: That I need to take another look at Numbers! I do larger HyperDoc items to push content to my students. Numbers might be another resource in that realm! #appleeduchat
A6 I've done too much watching and need to do more doing! #AppleTeacher is a great starting point, but I need to hold myself accountable for digging in deeper and collaborating w my @AppleEdu learning buddies. #appleeduchat
We have a teacher in the district that does a lot of mindfulness lessons with her students. Let me know if you would like to be put in contact with her. #AppleEduChat
Thank you everyone for sharing tonight. It is always a joy to learn with and from you! It was a great brain break from the Wisconsin Wind Chill Warning! https://t.co/luzmDMSg5p#AppleEDUchat
A6: After this Chat I need to use all the creative ideas to complete my innovative ADE video about a teamās realized vision. Should I go traditional or #Birdbox parody š¤£?
#AppleEDUchat
A6: I want to add more of the apple ecosystem to be around for more teachers to learn about. I just Started #PottyPD in my district and I want more tips and tricks for @AppleEDU I will be adding more and after reading all that I missed in the chat. #AppleEDUChat
Q6: What is one thing (personally, professionally, instructionally) that you've learned that you can (or plan to) put into action after this chat? #AppleEDUchat#creativelyproductive

OMT. Super excited to share! My new book "Creatively Productive" w/ @dbc_inc goes into greater detail about dig. organization, note-taking skills, time mgmt, managing procrastination, ideas for reflection/reader's notebooks, etc... https://t.co/AJEJeGLfcO#AppleEDUchat
Thank you @TechChef4u & @mathycathy for making organizing a creative process. Canāt wait to go back through for all of the creative ideas shared tonight!!! #AppleEDUChat
Audio files are awesome! I would be curious how others are using the speech functions as tools for learning rather than just #AssistiveTechnology tools. Thinking about using them to support all learns access content and even to support the writing process. #AppleEduChat
Thank you @TechChef4u and @mathycathy for a great creative chat tonight! Have a great evening, everyone! For those battling the temps, stay warm! #AppleEduChat

A6: I saved so many tweets to my bookmarks to look back on during my āfrozen dayā off school tomorrow! Iāll be digging through and finding how to make these work for my teachers! #AppleEDUchat
A6: OHMYGOSH visual schedules and task directions using audio, visual, shapes, and Numbers is my new project for #allthetasks#AppleEDUchat. Thank you @appyteacher for sharing!!
