Yes! I was thrilled to see these in the hallway today in an elementary school! Our high ability Ts are planning to use this with their Ss for a social emotional project! #adechat
A1: I’ve been showing Ts of all grades this great #allaboutme resource, especially inspiring to the Ts that have begun their Apple Teacher badges! #adechat
#adechat used the idea of sketching portraits and then scanned them into iPad and used popplet to create a map of the character's connections developing idea of non-linear reading pathways
Q2: Started thinking about historical figures, scientists passions and have Ss make connections, character studies, KWL in a new light, visualize thinking....”Ways I am smart” - have Ss share their strengths & know how to “tap the community brain” & collaborate #ADEchat
A2: I️ think it’s a great project do with faculty as an icebreaker and professional learning experience for them to experience the power of #keynote first hand. #ADEchat
Absolutely! Having students walk us through their thinking process is so very powerful! Having them explain why they chose various shapes would be compelling! #ADEchat
The children used explain everything to talk through their image. Screencasting is a powerful form of formative and summative assessment. Also helps to develop metagcogntive awareness. #adechat
A3: Could be used as a self reflection tool... Ss show what’s inside their head before and after a learning experience. Ss could then put into a #classclips and offer explanation. #ADEchat
A3: our school is working through retakes and redos. Don’t make the second version of the test the same as first. Do something like this instead. #adechat
A3: It might be cool to create a slow motion video of all the shapes that represent something they’ve learned and how they build upon each other throughout the year to make one great personalized video. #ADEchat
A4. Teachers have to know what standards they are assessing so they can make sure the creativity leads to learning. Like so many said earlier. Using descriptions to explain the artifacts keeps it all on point. #ADEchat
A4: I think setting clear expectations at the start of the lesson will help Ss understand what the final artifact is all about and how it is connected to what they learned. If the student can explain that to other Ss or Ps even better #adechat
A4 I like the idea of using this with famous history figures and what they might have been thinking at the time-then have SS present to peers their reasons for choosing the shapes. #ADEchat
A4: I think so many of you answered this question through the other questions. I love the screen recording idea. Really reaching in to understand the Ss thinking process allows for that clear connection to learning. #ADEchat
Between magic move in Keynote, and the line draw function, the students have a very powerful automation tool with very little experience required #ADEchat
A4: Plan backwards and start with the purpose of the learning and then think about how a project like this (and other methods of showing understanding) will help you know if Ss achieved the purpose. #ADEchat
a4. #adechat - make friends with your curriculum, use clear co-constructed success criteria and don't neglect the underlying attitudes and skills to learning. What a student says or how they say it can reveal a lot.
A4 plan backwards. Start with task, fold in tech as needed. Shift from “we are doing an iPad lesson today” to “we are demonstrating understanding this way today.” #ADEChat

I knew mine needed to know how to take a decent picture, add images to apps, share to the cloud. However I'm mindful to teach them to 'read' the ipad icons rather than 'know' the app #adechat
I want to try this with plants (super nerdy science) --add things that make them successful with screen recording and voice over to explain why shapes were selected #ADEchat
A5: With the ability to use shape templates, or draw your own shapes, Keynote gives us ownership over our graphics. We don’t need to worry about intellectual property issues over “googled” images. We can create all our own! #ADEchat
A5. My Design 2 learners can use it show the changes from phase to phase ➡ sketch, sketch model, mock up, assembly model, final model. Allow it to morph and seem like magic (I mean engineering design) happened #ADEchat
A5 it unleashed an unhealthy relationship with myself and magic move. I use keynote for everything now - image creation, presentations, animation, movies.. #ADEChat
#adechat keynote can help students develop non-linear thinking. Not constrained by the left to right up to down directionality. Also can add images and export to other programmes
A5: During a mystery state exercise using #facetime, we had all classrooms reflect on the experience using "all about me" ideas w/ collaborative Keynote and peers had to interpret what the others meant. #adechat
A5: This project inspired my grade 3 Ss to use Keynote for more than presentations: they’ve created logos, even prototyped an app w/ Keynote. We ❤️ it! #ADEchat

A6: This project allowed Ss to relax and share as they created their silhouettes. The activity help build community and they were inspired by one another to explore fonts, shapes, backgrounds, and transitions. #adechat
A6: I think this project takes users down a powerful path in Keynote. From basics like copy/paste to other elements in the format and arrange tools. #ADEchat
As we continue discussing, I want to thank @AprilRequard for her inspiring work and awesome leading of #ADEchat tonight. You have opened many eyes and doors!
I remember doing a traditional cut-and-paste project like this in 4th grade. The great thing about Keynote is that nothing is static. Everything can change. Just like our Ss. #ADEchat
A6: I used this project w @sammibutwin to teach students how to use Keynote. For some it was the first project they created on iPad. Perfect first activity - engaging, personal, intuitive, & enabled Ss to be proud of what they created. #ADEchat
Thank you, Mia! My favorite part of this was that many people shared that Keynote is being used now more than ever before for student creation! That’s just awesome! #ADEchat
