I mean, I know you’re having a blast doing whatever you’re doing today, but CCSD art teachers are having the MOST fun. SO excited to discover this amazing substrate to use for our gelli prints! #cobbartrocks#artsedGA#fordstem
A1 I grow as an educator by being willing to change, also I love to learn from my students. I'm always trying to improve in communicating possibilities to our school community. #k12artchat

As educators- we first must have a passion for learning. We are blessed to have a wonderful online network that shares, encourages and pushes us forward. Spreading that to others seems to come naturally. #payitforward#a1#k12artchat
A1 #k12artchat GROW1-My #PLN! What a different educator I am now compared to when I started! Connections are nurtured in person, with the teacher next door, on another campus, or across the country by going to conferences
& virtually (here!)
#K12ArtChat A1 I grew by finding my voice and footing at different stops w/ different educators & adapting to best meet their needs while inspiring them to grow.
#K12ArtChat A1: Constantly looking at inspiration through social media and making time to be creative, most of the time by sitting next to my kiddos and creating along with them.
A1 #k12artchat GROW2- Put what you know OUT into the world! The hiccups as well as successes, talk about the process of being an educator, write articles, share WIP by students, resources, ask questions, be active so your district comes to you for advice
#k12artchat a1 I think my Growth comes from conferences like @FloridaArtEd , books, podcasts, and PLCS/PLN and even the @USMC ! I got to go to an Educator workshop last year at Parris Island that was awesome!
A1 #k12artchat GROW2 Share what you do at faculty meetings, give examples of how the learning is interdisciplinary, collaborate with others on campus so they experience it
A1 #k12artchat GROW2: Model good teaching and learning for your peers & Ss. Share what you just learned with Ss too! They spread the news better than anyone!
A1: Find your people- pair share - discuss and grow - this PLN has changed my world and the transformed learning for the teachers I have the privilege to lead! The smartest person in the room is the room- we learn and grow together #K12ArtChat

A5- The expression ‘do what is right for students’ means, to me, to not to just Do Something WITHOUT Purpose. Don’t just paint a watercolor to just do it. Why do it? For what purpose? For what meaning? For what greater good? #K12artChat
#K12ArtChat A5: focusing on the learning process for students instead of the final product can be very important for students. Which means sometimes throwing projects out, not finishing them, going a different direction with them. Whatever is "right" for the students 😉
#k12ArtChat by #beingthekindkid - looking for the good in everyone and encouraging people to be their best self. And praying for people. An attitude of gratitude

A5: always give them a why not just how. Don’t let them continue on a sinking ship- tell them you’ve lead wrong and we need to restart or scrap a project #K12artchat
