Mrs. Puls, my first grade teacher, read aloud each day after lunch. Her raspy voice and great laugh are etched in my memory! She introduced me to Beezus and Ramona...probably because I was a bit of a Ramona! I have read the whole series and loved them all!

My Life in France by Julia Child and Paris I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down by Rosencrantz Baldwin take me back to spending Christmas in Paris with my family a few years ago. I read both books before the trip & they reflect two different eras and perspectives. #Read4Fun

And...a confession... they often fill in gaps in my history knowledge and specific events in depth. As a teacher I discovered @avi3writer's books and read them for my own pleasure...

A2: Junie B Jones or Mary Kate & Ashley books..these remind me of the time I first began reading chapter books. (4-6th grade). They are the only books I'd check out. I love to see my students grab them from my library & I discuss it with them. #Read4Fun

A3: As a child the book that stayed with me (it is still at my Mom's house with all of my childhood books is Mog the Forgetful Cat by Judith Kerr. I read it over and over! #UMedtech#read4fun
The books that stay with me are often the ones that are heart-breaking, but hopeful like the MG book, The Bridge Home. Also Homegoing is a grown-up novel I am constantly recommending. #Read4Fun
Jane Yolen's The Devil's Arithmetic gets me every year we read it. We are finishing it this week with our 6th Graders. But I otherwise stay away from the genre. It's too intense for me. I've read too much through the years. And I am a visual person. Too intense.
