A1: Stacy Horvath...Kindergarten teacher from Saline, MI; love Seesaw (as a teacher and parent!) and am excited to continue using this tool and enhancing my students' communication skills and parent involvement with it! #SeesawChat
My biggest tip for teachers just starting out with Seesaw is to just go for it. You can’t break it. The students will show you new things all the time. #seesawchat
A1: Hey all Seesaw-ers! I'm Shannon, a 3rd grade teacher in KS. I am looking forward to watching my students in their choir concert! I have a feeling I'll need some tissues. ❤️#seesawchat
A1: I am Lindsey from Columbia, Missouri and I teach third grade reading, science, social studies, and health. I am looking forward to engaging students and families by using @Seesaw and reading as many books with my kids as possible this year #seesawchat
A2. Don’t overwhelm yourself -- start with one thing at a time, such as using the Seesaw tools on the website. You’ll catch on quickly and so will your students! #seesawchat
A2: Take advantage of https://t.co/m23Q3bDb0D and watch the on demand webinars. Start small. Let your students explore and become the teachers. #seesawchat
A2: What you’re already doing already fits perfectly with @Seesaw! Start by having students share the amazing work you are already doing in your classroom. #seesawchat
A1: Jill Binks from the Seattle area-I'm a 5th grade teacher & Ed Tech Lead. I'm excited to go back to Austin (my hometown) for the first time in 8 years! #seesawchat
A2: Take advantage of https://t.co/m23Q3bDb0D and watch the on demand webinars. Start small. Let your students explore and become the teachers. #seesawchat
A2: Start now. If there's one thing that's truly strengthened the teacher-student-parent relationship, it's how Seesaw keeps parents in the loop and involved in our day to day while giving students access to a tool that helps them feel proud of their work! #seesawchat
Q2: Use @Seesaw to share the great things you do in the classroom; start small and then expand. Create SPECIFIC folders to organize your class feed. Kids will show you even more than you imagined. #SeesawChat
A2: Dive in! The only way for you and your students to get comfortable with it is to use it...and often. It lends itself to so many lessons and alternate approaches to sharing knowledge...and is loved by connected parents and family members! #SeesawChat
A2: Don't be afraid to dive in! Students can often take it further than we anticipate! There are also so many awesome ideas already out there through the @Seesaw community to start with! #SeesawChat
A2. My biggest tip for teachers starting out with @Seesaw is to pick one thing - start small - have kids take over - and use Activities for differentiation once you get going...#seesawchat
A2 start with an engaging activity that utilizes the tools you want. I let them draw on a photo of me to teach the draw tool and copy edit. #seesawchat
A2: Start small, get 1 idea under your belt before moving onto another. You can get easily swept into how awesome @Seesaw is & want to do everything, but start small! Let your S's become confident! #seesawchat
A2: Give it a go & just dive in. Don’t dwell on needing to be an expert on using it before letting your kids use it! @Seesaw is so easy to use, your Ss will pick it up so quickly! #seesawchat
A2 Project #Seesaw and teach it whole group as they try it. Then something easy, such as take their pictures down they write or record to introduce themselves. That REALLY hooks parents. #Seesawchat
A2: Don’t be afraid to let your kids try things and teach you things using technology. My third-graders have shown me way more this year than I would’ve ever figured out on my own #seesawchat
A2. I would definitely say start simple- have students take a picture of something you’re already doing and record over it. As you get comfortable, explore more! #seesawchat
A2. I would definitely say start simple- have students take a picture of something you’re already doing and record over it. As you get comfortable, explore more! #seesawchat
A2: JUST GO FOR IT! Don’t be worried that you don’t know it all, you won’t, but the kids and you can learn together and it will be so much better in the long run. Spoiler alert: kids know more than is anyway! #seesawchat
Yes! I think one of the best ways to get ideas is ask other Ts in your building what they’re using it for, or look on Twitter for ideas! I’m always blown away by people’s awesome ideas! #seesawchat
A2: Allow students to view their classmates work. Maybe start w/ likes. Then add posts comments after teaching them how to write quality control moments.#seesawchat
A2: don’t look at seesaw as something more to do . It is a great tool to engage your students and a fun way to track progress at the same time #seesawchat
A2 - let go of the reigns! Give your kids the devices and let them upload on their own. Model, practice, be patient, and they will amaze you! @Seesaw#SeesawChat
YES! So many Ts think it’s just “one more thing” but it’s so easily embedded into your routine until it just becomes part of your routine! 😀 #seesawchat
A2: Let @Seesaw become a verb in your room; make it become a natural part of your routines. Soon your student will be suggesting things to "seesaw" #seesawchat
A2 Tricia from Cold & Icy Wisconsin joining late - my tip would be to try something short and easy at first - then go for more advanced activities! Use the templates!! 😊 #seesawchat
A2: Let @Seesaw become a verb in your room; make it become a natural part of your routines. Soon your student will be suggesting things to "seesaw" #seesawchat
Jump in with both feet! Learn the Seesaw ways along with the kids. This is my 2nd year using Seesaw. We learned together. Kids enjoyed teaching me new things.#seesawchat
A2: Use @Seesaw regularly. Try to come up with a routine, so you know that you and your students will use it at least once each week (or more often). You'll find many ways to incorporate it into your day! #SeesawChat
A2 Start small having students share work and then begin adding activities. Seesaw will fit in with what you are already doing. Not anything extra. #seesawchat
A2: Taylor Serrata. 3rd grade teacher jumping in late. I would tell them to start with having the kids take a selfie and record an interesting fact about them. #seesawchat
A2 Choose one thing to use it for or one way to use it. You get comfy w/ how easy it is & you will want to try something else. So many cool things are possible with @Seesaw ! #seesawchat
A2 Start small. Choose one goal (e.g. parent communication, document learning, etc) and accomplish that, then add the next thing. After you are comfortable w/Seesaw, train 1 or 2 of your Ss to take over the job. It will snowball from there! #SeesawChat
I just resent invitations again last night and got a couple more parents signed up. One mom asked if it was OK to add the dad who lives in another state. What a wonderful way for families to stay connected with each other. #seesawchat
This is so true! They are motivated to use @Seesaw so even things I hadn’t thought about posting to Seesaw my Ss would ask to post.. plus they were proud and wanted to show their parents #seesawchat
Couldn’t agree more! We have so many comments and likes from parents who we don’t even have a phone number for, nor have ever met in years! It’s a great connector! #seesawchat
That’s an even better idea than me trying to flip back and forth between my notes app and twitter app! I’ll be starting this during the next #seesawchat for sure!
Yes! Mine now know they put everything into @Seesaw & I will choose to ok or not depending upon if it leads to them earning the digital badge for that standard. #SeesawChat
A2b When I first started using Seesaw, I told Ss I was learning along with them--they loved being able to teach me something they figured out! #seesawchat
A2: try to keep it simple at first so you don’t get overwhelmed. Do a simple activity like taking a picture of their work. I’ve used it more and more every year. Slow and steady. Let the kids explore it for morning warmup and come up with ideas on ways to use it. #seesawchat
#seesawchat TIP: Take a screenshot of every idea you see tonight - then you know exactly what time the tweet happened and who to follow to check the idea out!
A3: This is our first year using it, and my goal was at least once per week! Not everyone posts on the same day, but love how the weekly reports show the average number of posts per student to hold me accountable #SeesawChat
A2. #Seesawchat If you have an @AppleTV - the @Seesaw app is a great way to show my K Ss exemplars of each other's work via the Feed or Slideshow modes
I love how you mentioned that school-home relationship first. When you get the P's buy-in (which isn't hard), then Seesaw becomes a window into the classroom that Ps never had before. #SeesawChat
A3: Currently on school holidays (this is from last yr class), but we both decide! I set follow ups/activities/tasks every day for them to complete. S's love sharing other things they have done in their day they are proud of! #seesawchat
A3 it is up to the teacher if the setting for work approval is on and I am a co teacher in the classes to help approve work or like/comment on work #SeesawChat
A3: I started the year assigning students challenges, but have started to open it up with choice within an assignment and also letting students add additional posts that they choose to! #SeesawChat
A3: My Ss have @Seesaw assignments multiple times a week for different subjects/standards. They are asked to share their learning in Seesaw when they rotate to the device or station. #seesawchat
A3 we try to Seesaw 3-4 times a week. As the 3-5 reading teacher we use it for graphic organizers and then creating notes to practice utilizing a CC reading standard. Wish I taught more subjects, so I could use it more #seesawchat
A3: I'm not proud of our use at the moment. It's been hard to come back from break. I often send out an activity for students to complete-they get choice in the format. I have student bloggers who post updates, and I post updates too #seesawchat
A3: We Seesaw everyday. Due to limited technology, Ts often decide what to add to journals by building it into our lessons but Ss decide what to share with the class on the Blog. #SeesawChat
A3. We use Seesaw daily -- sometimes it is a teacher directed activity and sometimes it is students asking to share something on Seesaw. Here is November’s calendar view… #seesawchat
A3: I go into K-2 classes in 22 schools in our district so what I see varies. I think the most successful classrooms post multiple times a day & Ss have a voice & choice in what gets published and when. #seesawchat
Q3 we would @Seesaw in every subject every day: Ss described final products during center time, upload writing, explain their math talk, explain a response to read aloud. Ss always had iPads with them during the day #SeesawChat
A3: I don’t have a class (😢) bit kids in my school lost multiple times a day! Ss decide what to publish, though it’s usually from an assignment the teacher has told them to complete. But, Ss are final editors of own learning. #seesawchat
A3 Several times each week, and some weeks daily. Some items are teacher directed and some choose WOW work. Using the activities the usage will increase! #seesawchat
A3 #seesawchat I am brand new to @Seesaw so I have my class list set up and I’ve printed my code, printed the parent invitations and chatted with my class about it but we haven’t actually posted yet!
A3: We use Seesaw every day, if possible. Parents love seeing what is going on in our classroom. Students love to make comments on peers’ work. Love yhe blog feature, too. #seesawchat
A3: cont-other times Ss choose to put work in like in Daily5 ELA rotations & I choose to ok or not. I love that they want to share work though! #seesawchat
That was always a great motivator! I’ve even had neighbors and extended family join. The more the merrier I’m a child’s educational journey! #seesawchat
A3: Students use it in stations to free up teachers having to check their work by just taking a pic and posting it. Teachers check and publish when they have time, no exact schedule. #SeesawChat
A3 Last year when I was still in the classroom, we used it almost daily by the end of the year. I miss those daily notifications and spending the evenings reading Ss' WOW work! Now I enjoy encouraging other Ts to use @Seesaw voraciously! #SeesawChat
A3 We all publish to Seesaw multiple times each week. I use it to share information about curriculum, and students publish at least once each week, usually more. Sometimes I decide what/when, other times it's the kids. #seesawchat
A3: My goal this year was to use it 1x week but more importantly when it is the best tool to reinforce/cement learning (quality vs. quantity!) I'm deciding what/when to publish for my Ss but can't wait for the day one recognizes, "Hey! We should put that in Seesaw!" #SeesawChat
A2 @Seesaw is very intuitive, I would recommend checking the getting started guide @ https://t.co/Mhyn489tqB. And give it a try with the students right away, they are the great at it. #seesawchat
A3. We usually use it at least a couple times a week! My co-teacher and I mostly decide what and when but our first graders are bringing it up more and more ☺️ #seesawchat
A3: Teaching only 1 subject this year (#math7/#math7plus) on a tight middle school schedule means we have looser timelines than when I was self-contained in elem school. It might take one class of 40 Ss a few days to a week add to their journal. Flexibility’s key! #seesawchat
A3: We use seesaw at least 3-4 days a week . It is easily integrated in our subject areas . The students love sharing their work and commenting on others students work . The best way to give them ownership of their learning. #SeesawChat
A3: We use @Seesaw to submit and share everything. We always start our day with a question that I post and it’s either a review or a check point for what we’re learning or question to build community. I love it when the parents reply to the question to #seesawchat
Booksnaps sound so cool. Do you have any examples? I thought I might try this in the first week (in New Zealand so start of scl year=end of Jan) #seesawchat
A3: Sometimes I say what goes on, other times it comes from a student. I've had a number of times where a student has asked me if they could post something to Seesaw that they did/are proud of/want to show Mom or Dad #seesawchat
A3: We use Seesaw about once a week right now, and I have it as a station with various tasks. This week on our first day back, I had them make a goal for 2018. It was INCREDIBLE to see what they said, especially my quiet Ss. #seesawchat
A3. Part of the weekly schedule. We brainstorm about our week and students write "Highlights of the Week" in a letter format to their family! #SeesawChat
A3: Kinders upload daily in @Seesaw literacy station. We also upload and read our writing 2-3x a week. Math pre&post test data is loaded at the end of each unit. All must be approved by me. #seesawchat
I know what you mean. I had 1:1 in a kinder class last year-we Seesawed multiple times a day, my alerts were constantly going off. Now I’m in Deaf Ed ppcd so I’m having to readjust what @Seesaw looks like with these kiddos #seesawchat
A3: Almost everyday! Even when there is no school! They decide what they want to post. It is THEIR journal. So as long as it’s in reason!Nobody decides what I blog about! #seesawchat
Some days we add so many things, I wonder if parents are going to be irritated by all of the @Seesaw notifications. But as a parent, I'd rather have the opportunity to take a peek at my child's day. I figure they can always change notification settings. :) #seesawchat
A2. I always tell new ts to use it for a few weeks before connecting families. The work won’t be lost, but you have time to perfect the editing and posting. #seesawchat
A4: Seesaw has opened communication with parents. Parents can see what is happening in the c'room. The message option has allowed for a line directly to parents if a child has forgotten their lunch or needs to bring in a permission note. #SeesawChat
I just opened up student likes and comments in December before break. They loved getting and giving the feedback, and they did a great job! I need to remind/encourage more liking/commenting on others' work. #seesawchat
Q4: Newsletters are is my #seesaw 2018 goal. I am also wondering if it could replace another messaging app I use with parents for boradcast and 1 to 1 messages. #seesawchat
A4: Seesaw gives a way to update parents currently so now I only send emails with upcoming events and don't really have to talk about what we're learning because it's all in videos, pictures, etc. on Seesaw! #seesawchat
Q4 looking for advice on parent communication. Most of my parents don’t use or don’t know how to use tech, so when I share online they don’t have access or don’t know how to check, even if I host trainings #seesawchat
A4: I don’t have a class of my own, but Ts I work with that send newsletters on @Seesaw and use the announcements feature to communicate w Ps love the simplicity of having a “communication hub” for Ps to go to. #seesawchat
A4: This is the best way to communicate with family members, many that won’t answer phone calls or emails. It was an easy way to get in contact with parents today for the 11am early out due to ice storm. #SeesawChat
A4: Always put my @Buncee newsletter link in a @Seesaw parent memo. ❤️that new parent message feature! Awesome way to share newsletters or fast update w parents. #seesawchat
A4: No more paper!!!!! No more “they lost it” excuses!!! I like sending newsletters home digitally because I can also add an audio recording, or even a video of myself. Seesaw totally breaks down the walls between school and home. #seesawchat
A4: I’ve used it to open up my classroom to our parents and expose them to what we’re doing day to day. Gone are the days when kids can say they don’t know what they learned today. Now parents can have meaningful conversations with their kids about their learning. #seesawchat
Q4 I appsmash- use @puppet@Buncee@PicWall11 to create a weekly newsletter with pics, Ss explaining learning from the week, and text- might even ask Ps to respond to a ?, then upload to @Seesaw#SeesawChat
Plus my parents check Seesaw immediately when they get a notification. That’s how excited they are to see their kiddos. It’s instantaneous communication #seesawchat
A4. It’s so easy to keep parents informed -- and for parents to keep you informed. Reminders are SO easy now -- no little slips of paper or labels stuck to students’ shirts! No more traditional newsletters, but rather little ‘updates’ throughout the week. #seesawchat
A3 As a Band T, I don't Seesaw every day, but I use it for playing assessments (we've been doing that this week daily for 6-8). I also plan for special DoNow chromebook assignments once in a while to hit on content I may not in daily rehearsals. #seesawchat
A4: Seesaw has helped to keep our families informed. Parents are starting to see their child's progress. I am noticing, less questions from parents regarding the daily activities of our classroom since starting Seesaw. #SeesawChat
A4 What a great way to share photos and recap the month or week - I love using Spark Pages so interactive (scroll up to view each page) #seesawchathttps://t.co/oxIGBJktZE
A4 maybe this will be in an upcoming question, but seesaw is not only a great way for students to have a portfolio of learning, but for teachers as well to show admin for observations or educator effectiveness! #seesawchat
A4. I LOVE Clips by Apple! I make a quick video for parents and share it via Seesaw. I can see who viewed it and it is so easy to share! https://t.co/I2pJUVFNVW#SeesawChat
A4 My goal is to switch from a weekly email home to a weekly seesaw update to let parents know what is happening and keep them posted about upcoming events! #seesawchat
A4 1/2 My fave thing about using @Seesaw for my newsletter is that I knew exactly who read it! Also parents could comment if they were unsure about something. I bet Messages has improved communication a lot this year!
#SeesawChat
A4: @Seesaw is a game changer with P comm. I share general notes, links to @SmorePages newsletters, progress monitoring data on areas of struggle, videos of suggestions for working with their kiddos, videos of their kiddo achieving a goal. #seesawchat
A4: Unfortubately, I have two families who aren't connected. I still do a weekly emailed newsletter to reach all parents and then post additional small reminders throughout the week on Seesaw (hat day, assemblies, field trips). #SeesawChat
A3 #SeesawChat Recently I'v been having Ss rotate thru a Daily Five Center Model wherein @Seesaw Activities/Listen to Reading (via @EpicKidsBooks ) is a combined center and they are using individual class sign in mode and do differentiated Activities before going to listen.
A2: Last year as the media specialist students would create a @ChatterPixIt of books they read and record themselves describing the book. They loved it and other Ss discovered new books they wanted to read! #seesawchat
A4 I haven't used it as a newsletter yet, but I will be doing more with that. It's nice to be able to send an occasionial message to connected Ps & know they'll get that message. #seesawchat
A1: Edenton, NC I am a 4th grade teacher, but I also hold a MAEd in Instructional Tech, so I try to be a "go-to" person. Looking forward to using Seesaw activities more #seesawchat#seesawambassador
Absolutely! As is @Twitter if you tweet out pics of what Ss are doing/learning. You can always go back & find things w hashtags & key words. #SeesawChat
A4 2/2 @Seesaw did amazing things for my communication with my non-English speaking families through translation of captions and comments! Those parents absolutely loved it! #SeesawChat
A4: It is an awesome communication tool with my ELL parents and students . They are able to connect to their students learning. A great way to get the conversation going 😀 #seesawchat
A4. Parents love to see their student’s work regularly and it changes the game when it comes to appsmashing! Parents love seeing cute videos students created through @ChatterPixIt and @duckduckmoose#SeesawChat
A4: I haven't fully converted to Seesaw for newsletters, but I do have many stakeholders that use Seesaw family and love it. I find that the openness of family connections eliminates a lot of confusion. #seesawchat
A4 @Seesaw has become my newsletter alternative! Each week I try to make one post for each curricular area. I made a checklist to help me keep track. Often I include pics of the kids working or anchor charts. I put those entries in a "Updates for Families" folder. #SeesawChat
A4: I love communicating on Seesaw! Newsletters, messages, pictures from the day, wordclouds, the list goes on! Here’s a few examples from my time in the elementary classroom: https://t.co/h1EyBTLd4Xhttps://t.co/uKHHMnsqys#seesawchat
A4: Critical come weather events, especially during winter! I can get a message out in English and in Spanish alerting everyone of early dismissal, delayed start, or closure. #seesawchat
There are plenty here in this chat! Everyone always shares awesome ideas from their classrooms. The activity templates in the seesaw activity library are another great place to start. #seesawchat
A4 you can even have Ss contribute to making newsletter weekly- they could make videos or pick their fav pic from week or draw what they learned and you could drop in all into @Seesaw#SeesawChat
A5: We love that students have expanded their audience outside of our classroom this year to our families. Continuing to provide them an audience with other classrooms and experts, and receiving feedback would be awesome! #SeesawChat
My son is in daycare and I call to check in each day at lunchtime. When he's in school, I hope his teacher uses @Seesaw so I can peek in on his day! #SeesawChat
In reply to
@kmartintahoe, @TraciPiltz, @MrsAshleyBFort, @shannon_vieyra, @Seesaw, @Seesaw
A5: We started using the blog during the #GRA2017 and are connected with 6 different classrooms. Our friends in Cambodia taught us about Water Festival using the blog! #seesawchat
A5: Seesaw blogs & Seesaw global classrooms are fantastic for sharing & connecting with a wider audience! The learning opportunities are AMAZING #seesawchat
A4 As a special teacher I don’t send much communications home, however @Seesaw has open an window into my classroom form family members to see #Earlylang happening. #seesawchat
A5: I want to share our work at our upcoming family night by printing off their work with QR codes and I want to look more at Seesaw blogs when we are 1:1 next year. #seesawchat
A5: We are starting slow so their authentic audience this year are their parents/grandparents and their peers. Peer commenting in Seesaw has brought a whole new dimension of accountable talk & peer conferencing. #SeesawChat
A5 This being my first kick at the can, I will be satisfied if I connect my students to their families at home to share their learning and to engage in @seesaw activities that I post to the class for fun at home! #seesawchat
A5: We connected with a school in Vietnam. Hoping to re-connect this year via @Seesaw. Not sure if they will be able to join, but hoping it's a possibility through our blog feature. #seesawchat
A5. I participated in the Gr.1 PD in PJs last night and today we did the #mtgr1 from Twitter -- they LOVED it! My next step is making a class Twitter account and posting our responses. We want to do this weekly! #seesawchat
A5: My goal is to begin using the class blog feature of @Seesaw and to connect with another kinder class to share learning and special events. #SeesawChat
A5 To empower S voice this year, I'm encouraging one of the Ts I coach to try @Seesaw Blogs. I'm looking forward to giving her Ss a broader audience! #SeesawChat
I was the only one using it last year in my school. This year the whole team will be using it. Working on Ss returning the feedback parents left #seesawchat
I agree that using tech to reinforce or enhance learning is most important! Then you can think about what tool to use and when. It should fit naturally into your plans, not feel like something extra. #seesawchat
I really like publishing projects and writings via QR codes in the hallway. A global audience is fun, but kids also want to see their friends checking out their work. #localandauthentic#SeesawChat
A4 I have 80% of families connected. I love that I can see who has seen announcements. They aren’t lost in bags anymore. I have gotten to know families better and communication is so easy. #seesawchat
Yes! I experienced this for our 1st Trimester Conferences; it was amazing! It gave us time to discuss more of the HOW we would work as a team to move their child forward! #SeesawChat
A5: My students love to #appsmash and it has allowed them to create some projects independently that I would never been able to get them to create on paper. Ss love being able to record their own voice and provide a description in their own words about what they did #SeesawChat
A5: Jumping in super late...K teacher, NJ. Seesaw obsessed. I LOVE LOVE giving my Ss an authentic audience. Their work is not only shared with parents, but I tell them the WOW work goes on twitter too! #seesawchat
I did that last year for open house! Parents loved it! All around the room you heard different videos being played from the qr codes on @Seesaw- a totally different way of doing “open house” #seesawchat
Yes! 🙌🏻 It’s seriously the best! 💕 And I love that I have a file on my computer of all her kindergarten @Seesaw posts that I get to keep forever! 😊 #seesawchat
In reply to
@MandyS2, @kmartintahoe, @MrsAshleyBFort, @shannon_vieyra, @Seesaw, @Seesaw
A2. I would tell a beginner to start in small groups so the Ss can really benefit from the many different functions that are available in Seesaw. #seesawchat
A5 start in your comfort zone and maybe share out to the same grade classroom in your building or another building in your district... then start spreading your wings to capture thoughts from a broader audience! #seesawchat
Q5: I want to have my kids provide more S to S feedback through Seesaw. I LOVE seeing their comments to each other. It’s also a great way to teach key digital citizenship lessons. #seesawchat
I did this last year! I started by telling them to type a letter using the note tool. By the end of the year, kids were using the tool of their choice to share highlights of the week. #SeesawChat
A4. @puppet (ShadowPuppetEDU) is awesome for creating newsletter videos - make sure to take photos in square mode on camera before compiling shots in order - just talk over the images and videos to explain stuff. Its my go to newsletter now. #SeesawChat
I love the idea of taking pics of anchor charts in Seesaw. Not only can Ss go back to see them if you rotate them out, but Ps get a better picture of what Ss are learning. Try having Ss take the pics of the anchor charts for you! #SeesawChat
A5 when I did a cool Seesaw lesson with my students I tweeted their work. Everyday they asked if they got more likes on the post. Students wanted to be twitter famous #seesawchat
A5: Seesaw allows my Ss to share their writing with authentic audiences. For our current project, Ss used design thinking and decided to turn their informational books into Seesaw ebooks for Kindergarten Ss in @MrsJudiP's class #SeesawChat
A5. Tap from my school have also published at our local library via QR codes. The Ss loved seeing their work in a public place around town! My son asked me to borrow my phone so he could check them all out. #SeesawChat
A5: My students enjoy reading their parents feedback immediately . I love when they ask to log back in and say “ my mom just liked this 1 minute ago “ . #seesawchat
We did this school wide for a parent night. I made a bulletin board with QR codes and it was a big hit! So fun to share their work this way! #seesawchat
A5: Looking forward to using the blog feature a lot more! It’s a great way to connect ss with other ss around the world and learn from others. DM if you want to connect blogs! #seesawchat#plcs4th#plcsedcoaches

A5 with my goal of empowering the students I just used @Seesaw in a vocabulary pre-assessment activity and encouraged the use of emojis to acknowledge individual success. #seesawchat
I liked to put the hard copy of our work in the hall with the QR code to the @Seesaw post hopefully w/S recording explaining their thinking. It created an interactive display wall which expanded our audience to any school visitors and encouraged more Ps to sign up! #SeesawChat
A5 a word of caution - if your district has rules/guidelines about sharing student images/videos, be sure to consult them before sharing to the “outside world” #seesawchat
Yes, my parents already knew exactly where their child was etc. Loved being so up to date and not having to wait for a report or conference #seesawchat
A5 SS also share their “process” portfolio by creating an iMovie of all of their in progress posts and attaching a QR code to the front of their artwork that allows others to view it. #SeesawChat

I use the qr codes because most of my students use American Sign Language, so we record them signing and then others/parents can learn ASL- it ensures ALL my students are “heard” #seesawchat

A4. I haven’t used Seesaw for newsletters yet. I take pictures of field trips and events that happen. Then, I post or the Ss post in Seesaw. We have a class frog. I started taking pictures from when it was a tadpole until now. Pictures are posted in Seesaw. #seesawchat
A6: I’m super excited to have joined the @Seesaw ambassador community this year and love that I now feel prepared to share this resource with other teachers to help get more students on Seesaw as soon as possible! #SeesawChat
A5. Blogging. Authentic audience. Digital citizenship! We just started our class blog, https://t.co/pFWNig1S4s. Please share w/ your class. Comments appreciated! #SeesawChat
A6: Today we did this SUPER great Martin Luther King Jr activity on Seesaw. I converted them into QR codes and shared it in our hallway next to a large collaborative poster! #SeesawChathttps://t.co/Or8mS8zgOL
A5: This is my next step that has been interesting me, to have my students venture out and share their learning with others. I like the suggestion of connecting with another class in our school. :) #seesawchat
A5 I have permission for 18/19 students to use Seesaw. We have had limited devices ( my students are most comfortable with my iPhone) still working on how to use our new Chrombooks. #seesawchat
A6: I want to get my students capturing our science experiments as they occur. We get so wrapped up in the excitement of doing them that we forget to document the process along way #seesawchat
A6. My goal is to use Seesaw as much as possible and as authentically as possible. I want students to take ownership of their learning and to be proud of what they are doing at school. #seesawchat
A6: As a tech integration specialist, I’m going to set a goal for number of Ts in our district that are using @Seesaw in their classrooms! Also have 6 schools I work with piloting Seesaw for Schools which I am SUPER excited about! #seesawchat#goals
A6: My seesaw goal: continue to find fun resources and ideas for my Ks to be excited about! Activities has made the search even easier now. #seesawchat
A6: To continue to increase my S's competency & fluency using @Seesaw in all curriculum areas. Capture as much as possible & let them take more control #seesawchat
A6: Hoping to get some of our "older"grade teachers to embrace @Seesaw and help teachers in our other schools realize the power and possibilities available in using @Seesaw. They will get hooked if they just give it a chance! #seesawchat
A6: Use the data tools. We are focused on formative assessment as a district, and these tools seem like they would be PERFECT to assist in that. #seesawchat
A6 My goal this year is to continue to give my students a voice, share their voices and listen to their voices Seesaw makes that all possible! #seesawchat
A6: One of my goals is to get more non-classroom teachers (specials Ts and special ed Ts) on board and using Seesaw! I also want to start using Seesaw blogs. #SeesawChat
A6 My Seesaw goal for this year is to have students record more Wow Work. Not just activities that I am assigning. I want them to take more ownership #seesawchat
A6: My goal for 2018 is to spread the Seesaw love to more and more teachers, including the pre-service teachers I teach! Share it as far and wide as possible! #Seesawchat
A6 As a tech integrationist, my goal is to introduce seesaw to as many teachers as I can in my district and aid them to use the app in new & innovative ways! ❤️👩🏻💻 #seesawchat
A6 As a newly minted @Seesaw Ambassador I want to encourage, and model new innovative ways to use this fabulous tool for my peers. And since I have the same group of students for 6 years analyze individual growth over time. #seesawchat
A5 Students published their writing in @Seesaw and I printed out the QR codes. Students walked around with their devices and headphones, scanning the codes to "read" the work and left comments. It was a great way to celebrate our work! #seesawchat
A6: Help other ts leverage the powerful learning opportunities that Seesaw offers in order to help ss and their family members share in their success. #seesawchat
A6 I want to help all Ts at our primary school make @Seesaw more student-centered. I also want to support Ts that want to use the app for assessment purposes, especially w/how easy Activities has made this for us! #SeesawChat
We make a "best work folder" at the end of the year. It is such a great way to reflect on their learning. They also comment on why they chose each item. #seesawchat
A6 #SeesawChat One of my goals is to have more parent involvement. It seems that my parents are used to the teacher supplying the answer to, "How is _____doing in school?" They should log into seesaw and have as my principal would say...a crucial conversation with their child.
A6: Great answer! And SO crucial! As with any #edtech tool, educators must make sure @Seesaw meaningfully enhances student learning and overall experiences. Unfortunately, this is often overlooked. #seesawchat#seesawgoal#edchat
PEOPLE!!! This is the voice of America!!! Wether we like it or not so long as he remains as President he is speaking for America https://t.co/GGBJhzaP3s # #seesawchat
A6: To share the amazing components of @Seesaw with others and to teach my Ss how to effectively give feedback to their peers in a meaningful way. #SeesawChat
If you want more activity ideas check out https://t.co/NZm3gipNi6 and share with others. Please add in some of these great activities shared tonight. #SeesawChat
A5 I've hung QR codes in the hallway to share our work with our school. Many students don't have devices, though, so they're mainly for staff and adults right now. Hopefully that'll change soon! #seesawchat
A6 Help all faculty on campus realize that they can use @Seesaw regardless of their role at the school- and that 1:1 technology isn’t mandatory #seesawchat
There is an awesome @Seesaw webinar from @TechTOSAGina that is all about seesaw on Chromebooks. I’m an iPad gal, so I found the webinar & tips to be super helpful. #seesawchat
A6: I want to host a guest seesaw chat, but I just got started on seesaw so this might be toward the end of the year. I just love using Seesaw! Also to connect with another class in my school #seesawchat
A6. This year I’d like to connect all parents, develop a wider variety of creative #seesaw activities, and get buy in from our entire staff! We are well on our way to being a Seesaw school! #seesawchat
When I only had a handful of devices I rotated Ss through so each one had an “iPad day” every week. You could also keep at least one device in a recording station for Ss to add work to. #seesawchat
