A1: Sarah, 6th grade ELA teacher in Forsyth County, if I had to make a digital portfolio right now, I'd go with Google Sites, but I'm curious to hear about other ideas! #TECHtalkGA
A1: Rhonda Stroud from #gwinnettcounty and I'm the LSTC at Lanier HS.
I would organize my portfolio as follows: presentation platform, instructional materials, resource collection, #pln collaboration, and assessment options.
#TECHtalkGA#gwinchat
A1: Hi! I'm Askia from Bryan County. Instructional Tech Specialist. Probably organize with a folder in Google Drive with folders inside for the school year (that's what were trying this year). #TECHtalkGA
A1 #TECHtalkGA Chuck Hodges, Georgia Southern University Instructional Technology Program. We have our student organize their portfolio around the program standards.
A1: Daniel Barkes, creator of https://t.co/bt1sQ4LHQx, Cherokee, PE...I know, but PE guys can still love ED Tech. Focus should be on evidence of successful teaching strategies and tools. #TECHtalkGA
#TECHtalkGA Driver’s License/Presentations.
A driver’s license is a small, yet simple, “go to” source that’s loaded with information!
Q2: What is your simple, yet loaded, “go to” technology presentation tool and why?
Our program is approved by the PSC and our graduate students create an e-portfolio at the end of the program of study. We have them arrange artifacts by the standards set by the PSC. A1 #TECHtalkGA
A2a: My favorite "go to" presentation tool had recently become Google Slides. It's easy and convenient when sharing materials across a network of collaborators as well as Ss because it's accessible on any device! #TECHtalkGA#gwinchat
A2b: Google Slides can be embedded into our LMS @D2L with ease! The explore feature is allows Ss the ability to add images with a simple click and web resources are available without leaving the page! #TECHtalkGA#gwinchat
A2: Love Google Slides. So easy to make and share, and you can change on the fly. Plus there are so many add-ons and extensions that can enhance the experience for your audience. #TECHtalkGA
A1 Ryan White. Instructional technology coordinator for @FloydCoSchool. My professional portfolio is on my weebly website. Otherwise, I’d use Drive #TECHtalkGA
A2: My favorite #ed tech tool is @nearpod. Easy to create awesome presentations, kids love it, and provides great data. Also, it integrates well with Canvas and other LMS. #TECHtalkGA
A1: Matt Body, DeKalb County, Instructional Support Specialist. I would start my digital portfolio with an introduction if myself, my philosophy of technology in instruction, and an analysis of how I’ve used technology to improve student achievement. #TECHtalkGA
A2: I'll say @nearpod. I love that it can be self-paced, & I can embed a variety of types of questions. And when I taught SS, I loved their VR field trips-students "visited" Uluru & Great Barrier Reef when we studied Australia & loved it! #TECHtalkGA
#TECHtalkGA Debit Card/Assessments.
A debit card can collect data about your spending habits and alert you when you’ve dropped below your monthly budget balance.
Q3: Which technology assessment platform do you use for data and what do you do with the info?
A3: There are 4 assessment platforms that are used by a majority if the Ts at my school: @D2L@allinlearning Google Forms and SchoolNet. #TECHtalkGA#gwinchat
A3b: When I was in the classroom, our content team (chemistry) would look at the Qs and the associated strands and compare scores across all classes. We used the data to help remediate Ss w/in our content areaas a whole. #TECHtalkGA#gwinchat
A3: I like to use the activity builder on @Desmos and @quizizz the most. The performances help me to create groups for remediation, practice or extensions in class
#TECHtalkGA
A3: I am going to repeat myself here, but I use @Nearpod for the data collection. Awesome data provided as students complete lessons. I also use @padlet to quickly check for understanding. #TECHtalkGA
A2 #TECHtalkGA At basic level, can be used like Powerpoint or Slides, but allows more free-form design. Can practically be multimedia development tool if you take the time to learn it.
A3 My district uses Schoolnet for assessment, but we also use the D2L Assessement tool and Google Forms. Plus tons of things like @kahoot and @quizizz and @quizlet for formative assessments. #TECHtalkGA
#TECHtalkGA Starbucks Reward Card/Collaboration.
Sharing a Cafe Mocha with a friend is the best way to discuss common goals while attaining them through different experiences/needs!
Q4: How do you use technology to collaborate with your colleagues?
We have no common assessment platform. However, Google Forms is where it’s at. Once it’s in a spreadsheet, we can do all sorts of things with it. #TECHtalkGA
A4: #TECHtalkGA twitter of course. Several of us in the NEGA Resa have a google hangout we use to collaborate and to make fun of @JDigitalLearn giant headset. Also enjoy @voxer
A4: My current position allows me to use our LMS @D2L and our @gsuite tools to get Bite Sized Learning modules and materials out so Ts can have a PD on their own time and at their own pace. #TECHtalkGA#gwinchat
A4: This is a little more difficult for PE folks, but we often collaborate together on Excel, and are going to use a Twitter Chat to conduct our next PLC. #TECHtalkGA
A4: my content team uses a Team Drive to share resources & collaborate, and I use Twitter constantly for strategies, resources, feedback, & ideas from my PLN #TECHtalkGA
A4: I love using a great tool and then running next door to help my peers see the instruction value! Last week alone I shared @PearDeck and @ClassFlow#TECHtalkGA
A2: Just remembered another #edtech tool that is quickly climbing my favorites list. @wizerme is an awesome tool that provides differentiation! #TECHtalkGA
#TECHtalkGA Coupons/Curation.
Extreme couponing is not just for the stores and online deals!
Q5: What are you doing to increase your technology collection of resources?
A4: we are a chrome book school, so google classroom, docs, etc work well for us. We share data to guide future instruction and to identify revision opportunities. #TECHtalkGA
A5: I'm participating more in Twiter chats which has grown my #PLN more than I could imagine! I've learned some new things, found some books to read, stated a blog and bookmarked some websites to help me grow both professionally and personally. #TECHtalkGA#gwinchat
A5: #TECHtalkGA I try to make it a point each week to catch-up each week on product updates. Also use my new favorite addon “jag-table” to build a tool kit of resources for our staff
A5: Moving to PE was a tough choice for me, because I knew it would be more difficult to incorporate #edtech. So, I created a website dedicated to helping teachers find awesome #edtech tools. It helps keep me in the "game." #TECHtalkGAhttps://t.co/bt1sQ4LHQx
A5: @Twitter has definitely helped to introduce me to digital resources. Also having tech friends like @RhondaStroud9 and @maryelenderwest to share awesome ideas too that they see in their schools!
#TECHtalkGA
