A3 The Learning Commons model at w/ student centered flex spaces & schedules.
A3: All of our elem. libraries have maker programs. Our HS library is starting a student-run tech help desk.
A3-we have in most of our libraries
A3 - I would like to show Ts & other librarians the amazing world of Twitter chats & how they can be part of your PLN
A3 Our tech club makes, invents and explores at lunch in the library. We have about 80% of our students who voluntarily come!

A3: Ss are given freedom to create and share. created a badge system to encourage Tt to get involved.
A3: Our librarians are leading the way in coding, 3D printing, and creating student led learning areas.
A3: We are also working on inviting, collaborative spaces. Opening up space by weeding old materials. https://t.co/Mrx5gqoJF9
A3-In my school district, we are working re-thinking spaces, moving towards learning commons
Today I failed to share ALL the Google docs w/ them that they needed!
Long live Twitter! home of since the beginning https://t.co/wCFEyisl64
I can't imagine my profession without Twitter!

its the equivalent to the kitchen being the heart of the home!
A4-Negative mindset & traditional thinking of libraries are obstacles to positioning
Completely agree w/! https://t.co/INNtS0vIsf
A2: Because we can help our districts move forward on their future ready goals
Branding/Advertising through Twitter. after school and open to all, regardless of academics and/or behavior.
A4- It is usually budget!
A4 budget & admin support
A4 Sometimes Ts that aren't willing/ ready to change. Administrators too.
lessons that went downhill, technology fails, contest fails, decoration fails. How we handle those is the key!
A4: Obstacles include funding-must look for outside sources -Education Foundations, & community help.
Failure is scary esp when trying to get buy in from Ts & gain their trust https://t.co/ojPHcIEkD4
I like the learning from failure theme going on here https://t.co/4qNiWAXn5E
"Spectacular failure" - What a wonderful goal for all of us!! https://t.co/GkTVXMrryZ
Yep, and we need to fail spectacularly in front of our Ts and Ss for them to see it's OK! :-)
A4 To me the only limit is imagination! I know time & money are factors, but there are so many creative solutions!
A4 The biggest obstacles to me are over scheduling of the lib and teacher buy in.
A4: Funding of course. Another problem is some Tt don't buy in.
Kindly, patiently, but consistently pushing for the use of google apps for productivity with faculty.
Q4 what are your biggest obstacles in getting your library Future Ready? A4 Show me the money!
A4: One of my fav. sayings: "Culture eats strategy for breakfast." Must build culture, & unfortunately, it takes time.

Exactly! https://t.co/mwA1X8yZIt
A4-Negative mindset & traditional thinking of libraries are obstacles to positioning

So true! https://t.co/XZcCx7rTnN
A4: Obstacles include funding-must look for outside sources -Education Foundations, & community help.
A4. support for change/ lack of resources(including staffing) can be obstacles. that is 1 reason PLN is SO important!

Thanks for sharing ideas on overcoming challenges https://t.co/602Fa7LGE5
A4: Obstacles include funding-must look for outside sources -Education Foundations, & community help.
A4 old mindsets & those that don't include u in planning but expect u to have space 4 them when they need w no joint planning
A4: Most devices in my library r >5 yrs old. Our iPads don't even have cameras! How can we create/use AR? https://t.co/T048XrmUYo
A4: an unforgiving floor plan with built in shelves, no money, and admin who are content with the way things are
A4.1: Analysis Paralysis: don't over-plan everything, just jump in. You'll probably fail spectacularly, but that's OK!
. I would love a training on using Instagram in the lib. Most Ss follow too many people to even see a lib post.
A4: The Innovator's Mindset by G. Couros is a must read for librarians.
A4 the endless, honorable battle of proving to Ts &Admin the library's worth as PART of classroom&holistic learning not besides it.
A4: Funding is always a challenge. Another can be a perception/opinion that books are no longer an important part of libraries.
Such a cool idea! Not "here's a 3D printer" but "what would you like to see?" Thinking more about this!! https://t.co/O7z27UKj73
I think more student-led, student-created spaces. Ways to empower our students.
change! https://t.co/ZgtK1eT6se
A4 old mindsets & those that don't include u in planning but expect u to have space 4 them when they need w no joint planning

Definitely tech failures and coding!
taught me this! https://t.co/D7CGhsT0Nn
A4.1: Analysis Paralysis: don't over-plan everything, just jump in. You'll probably fail spectacularly, but that's OK!
A4: Rather than think abt big changes, let's focus on small things that make a dif.
Student created is the key, in my opinion, to anything - let them create it instead of dictating it
Yes, change & flexibility is key!
Our problem is, we just don't have enough equipment yet. We have a few ipads that the whole school shares.
So true. Ts still "shhh!" kids in the library areas and say "we can't" to new ideas. It's frustrating! https://t.co/VwTxfOeM3l
A4-Negative mindset & traditional thinking of libraries are obstacles to positioning
Coding failures are fun failures!
Everything in the was from outside sources, not budget money. Don't let budge be an issue!
It's important we inspire creators & not just consumers! https://t.co/spsGkoL7Ax

YES!! Start small! Just start! :) https://t.co/zYDnCySKwU
A5: In getting my library Future Ready, I told myself to just start somewhere! Areas that need changing reveal themselves!

As TLs, we have to tell our stories. We educate & advocate! Must include sharing what we do! https://t.co/Uwdnq5vz3f
Changing the mindset of people. It's not the library of your childhood. It's the library of your future. https://t.co/cnMH4AbwFW
A5 Ask the students what they want, what they need, and what they would do if they could do anything.
A5 Use Tech smartly, and don't bother with every new and shiny thing
A5: Begin the Future Ready journey by connecting with other TLs locally & through PLNs. We gain so much by sharing & collaborating.
A5 Build your attend conferences & just try as much as you can! Let the Ss lead!
I'm just getting started on it but one way to grab them is to feature Ss reading and to come up with fun tags
I had a Teacher "shhhh" ME in the library one day! https://t.co/loWNbObJhw
So true. Ts still "shhh!" kids in the library areas and say "we can't" to new ideas. It's frustrating! https://t.co/VwTxfOeM3l
A4-Negative mindset & traditional thinking of libraries are obstacles to positioning
A4: Biggest obstacle to ? Closed mindedness to possibilities. Lack of motivation to change.
