What are the worst Halloween treats? (besides candy corn)
Hello! Angela from CA - 3rd grade T + ELA/ELD site lead...began 3 yrs ago with 1:1 chromebooks
I like candy corn :) but please don't give me Twizzlers #FlipClassChat#flipclass
Hi #flipclass Shai here. HS Math in State College PA. This is my 7 year flipping (I think!) . I LOVE candy corn. (Don't judge, @flipping_A_tchr ) I don't care for the black licorice.

A1: I luv dressing up and totally encourage my Ss - Since it's an elementary school we have a costume parade in the morning. I also create Halloween activities for the day with an art project. #FlipClass#FlipClassChat
A1 halloween has not traditionally been a big deal, but in the past couple years we got a principal that cam from the elementary and so we now have a week of costume days we tie in with red ribbon week for SADD and halloween themed contests #flipclass#flipclasschat
A1: #flipclass#flipclasschat To be honest, there is nothing I like about Halloween. Never have liked this day for as long as I can remember. Ss and Ts are permitted to dress up as long as the dress code isn't violated. No head coverings.
hey #flipclasschat Laura from MD here - jumping in late...I love halloween bc as a chem teacher I get to explode pumpkins and dress up as an element! #FlipClass
A2 I had no fear of the tech B/c as a math teacher I am kind of a geek (look at my shocked face) I also approached #flipclass with the expectation that the method was an empty farce #flipclasschat (spoiler alert) I was wrong.
A2: #flipclasschat My biggest fear was that if it didn't work, I was going to leave Ting, because after 15 years of Ting, I was bored and needed a change. Thankfully, #flipclass was it. 7 years later (in my 8th year flipping) and in my 23rd year of teaching, LOVE it and my Ss.
you had me at exploding pumpkins and lost me at costume elements...although I personally look like a hydrogen atom everyday but am in no way lighter than air #flipclass#flipclasschat

A1 and A2- Joining late..Jamie a reading teacher from Hilton, NY. This is my first year trying flipgrid. My fear is figuring out how to incorporate it into quick reading groups. #flipclass
I literally had a HS english teacher asking me about this today! he wants a way for students to interact digitally beyond the classroom. #flipclass#flipclasschat I am not a #flipgrid user but have heard a lot about it.
A3: I've had to create a way to do an In-Class Flip due to Ss not having access at home - So for me it's timing in the classroom and with which subject #FlipClass#FlipClassChat
A2 my biggest horror story was how my #flipclass showed me that I really didn't have a very good set of inclass activities and collaborations and it was kind of a scooby doo moment when the awesome teacher I thought I was was unmasked #flipclasschat
A3: My #flipclass is always a work in progress and the biggest struggle is making sure Ss have the tech (and know how to access) the videos or have other options #flipclasschat
Been there, done that, sadly no T-shirt. #flipclass has so much more opportunity for really teaching. It looks super different. My college Ss struggle with class activities instead of inactive lecture. #flipclasschat
wow that is absolutly terrifying. The best thing i did when I went #flipclass was track before and after data on summative exams. I shared the data with admin and counselors as they are the ones to field the complaints first when you raise the bar. #flipclass#flipclasschat
A3 access to tech is a commonly stated fear (excuse) when I train others on #flipclass but as @MrsBarnett_Tchr suggested rotations, stations, etc is an easy fix. as is simply being flexible with your timetable. Ts choose due dates not Ss #flipclass#flipclasschat
A3: When I first started trying #flipclass 5ish years ago I had a lot of Ss that didn't watch the videos and made the mistake of reteaching the material. Never again. #flipclasschat
I've seen it done effectively in whole class ELA blocks but I struggle with quick reading groups. Just today I watched 5th graders making videos to respond to excerpts from a novel #flipgrid#flipgridchat
a quick and easy way to incorporate #FlipGrid at the elementary level (esp for reading groups) are Fluency Reads - set the time for 1 minute and have students practice their fluency #FlipClass#FlipClassChat
Have been excited all day and night for the announcement of @flippedlearning#FTNE19! It’s an honor and privilege to work with the organizers of @FlipTechNE and especially @flipping_A_tchr. This is going to be special!
A5 The list of cautionary tales tied to lab safety under the heading - does this really need to be said. Example - "12 V Power supplies work fine, don't use your tongue to test the circuit." #flipclasschat#flipclass
A4: let's be honest most of my classroom horrors are of my own making by either my impatience, frustration, or big fat mouth. What is helping is the change of heart/mind for building positive relationships with my Ss. re-assessment and #flipclass making this poss #flipclasschat
We would love to have some guest moderators as well. we can let you drive the ship or be your co-pilots this is a shared community #flipclass#flipclasschat
A4: When I was fresh out of college I wasn't much older than a lot of my Ss, so I found myself trying to be overly strict to avoid seeming like their "buddy" #flipclass#flipclasschat
