Be sure when you answer questions, you label them A1, A2, A3. We’re going to be having fun, so be sure to share your thoughts and add #BookCampPD to each tweet. The first question drops in a minute.
Happy St. Patrick's Day #BookCampPD! I'm Sara from Missoula, MT. A never ending pile of books would be at the end of my rainbow! A best friend is like a four leaf clover: hard to find and lucky to have.

A1 I saw our elementary team see a need for a new behavior program. They took charge of situation and created one themselves. Self lead principle! #bookcamppd
A1: I would say maybe collaboration and harmony. I love seeing fellow Ts and Ss working together to bring our school community to a great place. #BookCampPD
A1: I saw the talent principle! Our third grade team does a nice job knowing when and how to use one another's talents and strengths, and when to be the leader, and when to follow a great idea and plan. #bookcamppd
A1: Principle 10: Continue learning ways to impact your learning. My department conducts a bookstudy each semester. This semester we are discussing Disrupting Learning. #bookcamppd
A1: The Collaboration Principle, in my case between students. We did a write the room activity and my Ss worked together to help each other sound out and write words. They also went back after finishing to help their peers that were not done yet! Lots of proud smiles! #BookCampPD
A1) The people principle & the communication principle. Someone (an adult) took down & was rough w/our students' work in the hallways. Our Ss wrote to the principal & director about this. Our P is defending our Ss rights to have their worked displayed in the halls. #BookCampPD
A1- I changed to a new school this year and saw the People principle immediately- Admin recognizing that Ts need relationships w/ their colleagues- special staff lunches, release time to observe one another/share, recognition of other's work - all ads up #bookcampPD
Q2. There is a powerful impact of acknowledging the work of others. Please share a time when you witnessed someone's work being acknowledged that left a lasting impact on your memory. How would you also like to shine such a spotlight on someone this week? #BookCampPD
A2 at meetings when the work of colleagues is shared, great to learn about what others are doing, sometimes miss out on knowing these things #BookcampPD
A1: The communication principle...for me it’s all about relationships and working together to carry out our why. I cant do that without consistent communication. #BookCampPD

A2 last year when my coteacher and I created the master schedule our union recognized our hard work and provided us with a gift. It was nice to see our colleagues recognize all the work that went into that. #bookcamppd
Yes! Our communications person (I'm at a private school) doesn't like their work displayed. However, they r putting up work w/important messages about taking care of the earth. Our kiddos r fighting to be able to continue to put their work up. #BookCampPD

A3: our school recognizes staff members once a month We get to learn a little more about our colleagues strength and highlight 🌟🙌🏼💕 🦅 #Irvinignites@wmirvinelem#bookcampPD
A2: I find twitter to be an amazing, efficient, and subtle way to acknowledge the work of others in a way that educates others. Below is an ex of one our the principals in our #WO2World PLN giving a shout out to one of her Ts. This is just one of many great examples. #BookcampPD
A2: I like to see students acknowledging their teacher's work. It makes the biggest impact on me. One of our students wrote an essay on why @melissascire was her favorite teacher and won our area's Barnes and Nobles contest. It was touching to watch her read it. #BookCampPD
A2) A parent gave a "gotcha" to a teacher who she saw getting on the play equipment and playing with the kids at recess. The principal announced the gotcha at flag assembly. Usually gotchas r given to students, so this was a nice surprise. #bookcamppd.
Q3. Principle 7 - The Communication Principle - is one of the most important in all aspects of education. Would you please "shine the spotlight" on an example of this from your school or classroom? #BookCampPD
A2- Sometimes it's the little things that usually go unnoticed. I saw a teacher once wear a medal a student had given him years ago on a special pyjama day. He did it to surprise the student- not for recognition from anyone else. We just happened to see it #bookcampPD
A2: At the beginning of the year the hard work and dedication of a colleague, @anne_diamantini, was acknowledged as she received her Teacher of the Year honor. I learned so much working with her that has impacted my teaching today. #BookCampPD
A3 Communication is so important, a few years ago I found that was the biggest area that I needed to work on, started using @edmodo to connect and share resources with Ss and Parents, also have been using @voxer for #pbl#BookcampPD
A3. "Great principals know that when they speak to one parent, they're speaking to the entire community." pg. 145 Messages pass from one person to another. #BookCampPD
Yes. The student and teacher both were acknowledged at an event and then at our school. Melissa won a prize---I think money and some books. #BookCampPD

#bookcamppd My website and #twitter page allow me to maintain communication with parents, #students, and all of you! #grateful Colleagues who do not communicate well are one of the biggest challenges in #teaching
A3- I have a private FB group for parents to keep our learning visible- yesterday I attended a PD workshop on robotics and posted a video to the group so they could see what I'm engaged in professionally- so often they're out of the loop on that #BookCampPD
A2b: I think we all have the power to shine the light on each other by showing appreciation daily. Highlighting each other's successes and being there for each other! Giving high fives to adults as well as students! #BookCampPD
A3 good communication is key to any successful organization. I have been working on this with my school because we have a lot of new staff and I’m trying to help them get comfortable with our school. #bookcamppd
A3: We are lucky to have an amazing team @woschools that amplify #stuvoice to communicate to the community everything amazing that our district is up to! #WO2World#BookCampPD

A3: An example of the communication principle from our school. Our administration is clear in communicating expectations with students, staff and parents. All stakeholders understand that there is an open door policy to discuss issues with our administration. #bookcamppd
A3: I want to give a shout-out to @Encore_Spanish
She was very brave to come to me and “confront” me about the way I was making her feel.
Though it was not intentional, my behavior towards her had to change.
Great communication to improve relationship
