Q2) We all know nothing is ever as easy as we make it sound with technology, what are some difficulties that you encounter with digital learning? #LaEdchat
Have several of my 4th graders emailing their latest opinion writing on The Homework Debate they typed up in GDocs. We are not a Suite district, but I have taught them how to use GDocs. #LaEdChat
A2: A resistance from Ts, Ss, and As to try something new..."not enough time" When in reality it could "buy" them time and increase learning if they would take the leap. #LaEdChat

A2: I have an almost 1:1 Chromebook classroom that I got through @DonorsChoose. Not having access to our wifi during testing this month is frustrating. #LaEdChat
Great point here, sometimes the fear in losing time getting acquainted with a new resource can stop a teacher from learning a new tool that can make up for that list time and more! #LaEdChat

A2: I think our biggest difficulty is to make sure that we are not using technology for technology's sake. Getting teachers to understand and plan according to pedagogy and curriculum and not just the latest and greatest fun app! #LaEdChat

Yes, popular sentiment would lead you to believe that all of our Students are digital natives but this is not always the case, especially with desktop or even laptop computers aside from mobile devices #LaEdchat

A2: I’m amazed at how some students do not have basic email or keyboarding skills. Once a HS student told me her mom wouldn’t let her have email - 9th grade #LaEdChat

A3: Love, Love, Love when a Ss create something that shares their learning in a unique way and they are sooooo proud. They don't even care if its graded! Also love seeing Ss connect outside the classroom! #LaEdChat

A3: Another positive is giving Ss the opportunity to use tools that are used in the real world. When done well this can make a lesson that much more relevant to the Ss lives. #LaEdChat
This is true, but the teacher should be the one that is presenting the technology as a tool. If they can use the buttons and the teacher has the cognitive direction --- that's gold! #LaEdChat

A4: I learn about so many of our digital tools from my PLN and folks I follow. It's great to hav other folks opinion and thoughts on how these apps work! #LaEdChat
A4: My biggest resource for learning abt new digital resources is right here on Twitter!! Also love a couple podcasts like Google Teacher Tribe #gttribe and Ditch That Textbook Podcast #DitchPod Got to take a listed to them both if you haven't already! #LaEdChat
I just followed @thomascmurray based on this advice, please feel free to follow your peers on here as we all learn from each other on almost a daily basis on here #LaEdChat
We started #WBRCHAT a couple of months ago... it has really opened up conversations in our district. It's been great! We had one last night on Homework: Keep It or Ditch It!!! It has also empowered our teachers to lead these discussions in our district. #LaEdChat
A5: The tool must allow for some, if not all of the 4Cs. If Ss are not creating, communicating, collaborating and/or doing some critical thinking, then the tool is not worth the time...in my opinion. Discussing this now in my schools as they are spending spring money. #LaEdChat
#LaEdChat A4 (I think) I rely on AMAZING colleagues like the ones I collaborate using social media to find new EdTech tools. @lacueorg has been a HUGE asset in getting great tech info to those receptive to try something new!!

A6: Ts r curating on their own, some share w/Team Drives on Google w/Ts & w/Ss through Google classroom. Nothing shared building wide in most buildings and no digital resources shared district wide. We are missing out on a wealth of resources just out of our reach. #LaEdChat
Teachers have always been the best hoarders of instructional resources - now the resources are digital and stored in Google Drive or OneDrive! #LaEdChat
I'm trying to concentrate... but holy moly. It gets me!!! @Astro_Clay@AstroDot I was hoping you guys would be featured, too. I could listen to you guys forever!!

A7: 2nd grd Ss doing research abt importance of recess. Used Google Hangouts to talk to another 2nd grd class across town. Then used @Flipgrid to share personal ideas & questions from every S w/both classes. #LaEdChat
A6: I create a GDoc with links to all the digital resourcs my students will be using during the upcoming week. Share it with them on @edmodo and with their parents via @RemindHQ - https://t.co/ZStlfgQgUY#LaEdChat
A7: Students creating Google slideshows about their Mardi Gras research, having other classes signup to connect with us via a GDoc, and then my students teaching other Ss about Mardi Gras via GHOs. #LaEdChat
Love seeing all of these great uses for @Google drive and @GoogleForEdu, talking about resources @SAFARIMontage integrates with these to be able to pull content right from Drive & place into Classroom through @LearningImpact for one less step on way to being #innovative#LaEdChat
A6: depends on the lesson and age of students but right now we love Pearl Tree. It is one of our go to tools for curating sites for students. #laedchat
Which brings us to our last question about sharing resources with your peers like I just did in shouting out @SAFARIMontage for which I might be a little #biased 😉#LaEdChat
