Lucky to have had 2 unofficial mentors. A non-technical boss helped me grow as a person, a Sr. Dev. helped me grow as a dev. π

I've mentored 2 interns so far. It's good to form a partnership with them & make sure it is two sided. (Learn from them too)

Finding a mentor is usually more successful than being assigned a mentor. There's chemistry you need to communicate freely.

Really depends on how much help you want to give. I've done it from simple email threads to Skype sessions every other week

Also in my experience, they have to want to mentor you, and you have to get on well with them anyway, otherwise it will be awks

1st day I was given an "onboarding buddy"-helped me find online resources, the bathroom π, & I had a friend on day 1. Recommend.

I once organized a women in tech mentorship program. Mentees sign up like crazy, but it's WAY difficult to galvanize mentors.

I tutored CS at my university. It was one of the most rewarding experiences, right next to solving problems with code

Yes, was a mentor. A lot of fun, but main interest has to be of collaboration, not just spouting stuff you know (good and bad)
