A1: Lots of little things bring me #JOY! My #gratitude journal helps me take the time to notice those things as I go through the day. #rethink_learning
A1: What brings me JOY? Being with and playing with family and good friends. Being silly and knowing that it is okay to be just you with people who care about you and each other. #rethink_learning
A1: PLAY brings me JOY! Play is not just essential for kids; it can be an important source of relaxation and stimulation for adults as well. https://t.co/gpFIHd69gK#rethink_learning
A1 Playing my piano, publishing a meaningful post and learning it resonates with others, and seeing my students overcoming obstacles and finding pride in that #rethink_learning
A1: I put on “Playshops” instead of workshops. I just came back from playing with awesome teachers at @thinkstandrewsschools. We had a photo booth and the last picture was with red noses. Of course! #rethink_learning
A1: I find joy in creating moments that thrill & delight others. Moments of elevation & connection. Moments that value people for the unique gifts & talents they bring to a community. Little details that show I care about you & look forward to our time together. #rethink_learning

#rethink_learning Super late...maybe because I was taking a last day nap. 😉 Steph from ND.
A1: Sleeping, obviously. But moreso, writing and my animals (Binx, Lavendar, Velvet, and Dillon - the human one).
A2: I want my kids to be so comfortable that we can find joy in anything!
A2: I take great pride in bringing joy into the meetings I lead. As @artofcoaching1 says, I treat every meeting like I’m planning a dinner party for close friends. It feels good to accomplish big things with a sense of “us-ness” and to PLAY at the same time. #rethink_learning

#rethink_learning A3: It really took Teach Like a Pirate by @burgessdave to see that every lesson has the potential for joy and play. That said, I think it can fit in anywhere if we get a little creative!
A3: Give children time to discover and create. Look at creating a space for making in your class. Bring in board games and puzzles. Have a place or zone just for play during downtime. #rethink_learning
A3: I spent most of my time with adult learners. As @gretchenrubin says in The Happiness Project, if you enjoyed it when you were 10 years old, you would probably enjoy it now. So, I try to create environments where learners can choose their own personal joy. #rethink_learning
A3: children need to be exposed to a variety of topics and ideas in order to find joy and a love of learning and discovery - sometimes they don't know what they are passionate about because they don't have enough experiences. #rethink_learning
A3 They are so curious, and if we give them some tools, leave it up to them, they design so many interesting things, I've gotten some really great ideas and we have had some fun with their creations
#rethink_learning
A3: I think Ss have lost their love of reading b/c there is always something they need to produce at the end...why can't they just read for the pure pleasure and #joy? Get them to love reading again! #rethink_learning

A3 - this is all about teaching students to actually enjoy class. That sounds simple, but frequently it doesn’t happen. Also, providing for specific time to breathe and socialize. #rethink_learning
A3 Let them make mistakes and figure things out on their own. Sometimes they don't need a rubric, a set of guiding questions. Sometimes they just need a problem and let 'em go...#rethink_learning
This is wonderful! @PegGrafwallnerWe need to show that we make mistakes and learn from them. Show our vulnerabilities and model how we figured it out. Thank you! #rethink_learning

A4: build relationships, get to know Ss and families, pronounce names correctly, play games, check in using community circles, I also did a Joke of The Day, let them take risks/let go of control, honour their ideas, listen to them. #rethink_learning
A4: Kids are naturally curious & creative. There is child-like wonder inside each of us. Let’s set aside practically & make time for dreaming & questioning. We, as human beings, have the potential to do seemingly impossible things. It starts with imagination. #rethink_learning
Yes, I used music a lot - while they were working, transitions, games (name that tune/what's the next line) and during breaks in the day. #rethink_learning
Thank you to all the awesome educators who jumped in to talk about JOY today - Hope you join #rethink_learning on Monday 9/10/18 with our next topic, Student Voice. This chat will be archived on @participatehttps://t.co/uJBAuYFqN4
A4 - Focus on relationships first, learn names of each student, find their interests and promote them, provide reflective feedback that spurs learning and always stress the importance of a positive classroom. #rethink_learning
#rethink_learning A4: I think joy is a byproduct of #TeachingSincerely, or pursuing what you are passionate about as a teacher. It might be trying a new approach or rethinking an old idea, but taking risks makes success more joyful!
