A2: a quiet room, filled with soft light, music, comfort objects, and a professional trained in child psychology, to talk students through problems instead of punishing them for not understanding how to handle them. #edtechafterdark

A2: A history lab! Where part of the room would be used for discussion/group/lecture and the other part "hands-on" and create museum exhibits based on what we were learning. #edtechafterdark
A2: A two-story #MakerLab w/ a MacLab for using designing tools like @Adobe, another room w/ woodshop, another room w/ welding gear, another room w/ collaboration workspaces, a theater room to showcase student films, & a snack bar. Cuz who doesn't like snacks! #edtechafterdark
A3: I create a new set of standards for Social and Emotional Growth that include learning skills such as: empathy, honesty, integrity, growth mindset, friendship.
Learning the rhyme scheme of a sonnet is important enough to be listed, but not how to love? #edtechafterdark
A3: Actual time built in the school day, like in the afternoon, to truly let the students explore THEIR interests. It would be okay to be interdisciplinary, adaptable and break down the walls of traditional learning #edtechafterdark
A3: I would make Design Thinking a standard. I know it's not in our district. Every Ss should experience the process of designing, building, testing, redesigning, etc. #edtechafterdark
A3. A standard requiring Ss to be able to work together (collaboration) & to respect each other. Tested through observations & group projects. Each student receives specific feedback on how to improve. #EdTechAfterDark
A4: standardized testing that requires specific background knowledge to show success. Let us replace it with open-ended problems that require math, science, reading, and writing skills to solve. Multiple choice answer are cheaper to grade but hide brilliance. #edtechafterdark
A4: The barriers to enter and move within the profession. For example, 25% of teachers will switch states, yet license reciprocity is unnecessarily difficult (and expensive). #edtechafterdark
Before smart phones it was tv, radio, video games, or passing notes. As new technology is invented we must rise to the occasion to provide education on how to use it as good citizens of our community. #edtechafterdark
A4. The focus on rewarding or condemning schools based on test scores. The focus should be solely on individual student growth. Is the student better off now than the 1st day of school. Quit giving schools trophies or lumps of coal. #EdTechAfterDark
