A1: I have seen storytelling challenge students to represent and share information in a deeper level. Beyond the test and a worksheet, a story requires you to create something immersive and experiential. #createedu
A1: I think student voice can be amplified through storytelling. Allowing students to tell their personal stories - backgrounds and dreams -- contributes to overall classroom culture and builds empathy among students #CreateEdu
A1: For me storytelling becomes more interesting when the subjects aren't typical stories. Video trailers as book report, news stories about historical events, and so on. Giving Ss a way to share, both their learning and their personalities, is transformative. #CreateEDU
A1: I shared the power of @AdobeSpark at @cueinc's conference in March. Greatest moment was later when a teacher shared their students used the platform to create powerful and personal graphics that represented their learning. It was THEIR learning, not a photocopy. #CreateEdu

A2: Oh, you hit my hot button @TheTechRabbi! Communication skills are vital, and there is more to communication than the written word. Yes, Ss need to write, but omit visual communication and you're just not teaching the communication skills they'll need most. #CreateEDU

Amen. Love this Ben. I am teaching a business presentation class. My students are creating their mini-online classes to inform and persuade people. so excited. there are so many options. #CreateEDU
A2: Words are hard. Visual communication allows us to take an image and attach a meaning to it that makes sense to us. While it leaves the observers to (mis)interpret, we still feel our voice is communicated. It opens the door to more conversation. #createEdu

Amen, Clara! So true. I am adding storytelling to all of my classes this year. we are using facebook group and live streaming and videos big time this semester. Love it. #CreateEDU
Visual Communication is so important. Think of what would happen if we focused on it more in school. Death by Powerpoint might have never existed. 😂 #CreateEdu

It is time to redefine communication skills. Traditional communication includes intrapersonal, inter-personal, and public comm. Nowadays, digital storytelling and visual comm. #CreateEDU
Bingo! In 30+ years no manager has ever asked me for a report of 2000 words. And yet that's still how too many students are asked to communicate. Communication is about sharing, imparting, influencing, and there are lots of ways to do that, all of which must be taught. #CreateEDU

So true! I just shared this in a blog. Stories build connections; stories add an emotional component to learning and to classroom communities; stories also humanize who we are as teachers and students. #CreateEDU
A3: Remixing is how students can learn and be inspired from one another. (See @austinkleon’s book Show Your Work) It can push a student’s idea in a direction it would have never gone before. It’s a pretty slick feature no doubt. Also opens a natural convo to copyright #createEdu

Years ago @ABC hired a Director of Story. The job description was epic. Stories have to stand ground when you aren’t there. They need to share something. Our students will need this in the #FutureofWork#CreateEdu
A3: Create a Remixable story! Start the story & then pass it along to a Ss to remix, add next part of story. They in turn share remixable design to another Ss. And so on! Did I just create my next blog topic! 🤔 #CreateEDU
A4: Interpreting (insert content area here) concepts and attaching images to them that are metaphorical or literal. Along w/ supporting info. Publishing for others to attaching the same meaning. #CreateEdu
A4: So many assignments could be made more engaging and personal (and more fun!) by encouraging Ss to express themselves visually. Here's an K-2 math example, ways to add up to 10, recently posted to https://t.co/Mn4FI37lEQ. #CreateEDU
A1: Stories are the hooks that can entice students into the learning that is going to take place. A good story can be a brilliant provocation to a unit of learning. It allows students to make connections to things in their lives and makes them wonder about what next.. #CreateEdu
A2: Communication = verbal, visual or written. In 2017 during my IT @ GVC,students had lots of challenges (theoretically) but with the introd of visual communication, they began to assimilate & able to perform. 21st century kids need visual communication to get going. #CreateEdu.
