Helllooooooooooooooo! Kristen here from PA! I teach 6th grade science and shenanigans. And in case you were wondering, these are the muscle groups you need to fire in order to walk... 😂😂😂 #pln365
A1: I am a firm believer in recognizing and acknowledging weaknesses. In my experience, showing your human side allows you to better connect and build relationships with students. It shows them that you are not some higher being. It helps put you in their level. #PLN365
A1 it gives us an opportunity to grow into new areas and become more complete as people and professionals. Battling our lesser strengths builds grit and confidence #PLN365
A1: when you acknowledge your weakness you know who to surround yourself with to compliment you; most leadership gurus talk about accentuating your strengths vs focusing on your weaknesses—that’s why you surround yourself with complimentary folks #pln365
A1 By recognizing things that we do not do on our everyday extraordinary level, we have 2 choices: improve or hurdle the obstacle. Either way, we become stronger. #PLN365
A1: Allows us to remove one of the heaviest artificial burdens of pressure that we put on ourselves which is trying to be good at everything. In some areas, it’s ok to be a work in progress. #pln365
A1: By acknowledging our weaknesses, we can fill in the gaps using the people around us who complement our weaknesses. We can watch them and learn how they function. #pln365
A2: As crazy as it sounds, I use my “sports” or “coaching” mentality on myself. Most mornings you can hear a compilation of motivational speeches playing on my computer. It may be temporary, but it helps me get motivated and start my day off on the right foot. #PLN365
A2 You become what you believe. Set the game up to win and believe you can. After all, you have resolved 100% of the challenges you have faced this far. Keep that average going... You ARE a winner already! #PLN365
A3: I tend to get started on a task, get sidetracked, then start a brand new task. This often leaves me with having several open tasks on my desk at once. #pln365
A2 Tomorrow is a new day to bring my personal best stolen from @casas_jimmy I also use a quote my mom used to say a lot “this to shall pass”. And finally I love to recite the poem INVICTUS when it’s really tough #PLN365
A2 A misconception about learning is the grade. A grade doesn’t show how much a student has learned, how they’ve progressed, how much they’ve overcome, how much they learned a long the way, or how they’ll use it in their future. #PLN365
A3 my most significant professional weakness is comes down to two things I think I can save everybody even when they don’t want to be saved and I don’t have enough balance between my professional and personal life #PLN365
A4 So many #PLN365!
1. You still can 2. We’d respect you more if you were yourself (a tough lesson as a student teacher) 3. Instructions are limitations
A4: I need to do a better job of organizing and prioritizing my to-do list. Then I need to actually stick to this list. This can be tricky as events unfold throughout the day. #PLN365
A4 I need to be more intentional with making time for myself, and I need to work on understanding that people can’t be forced to change even if it is for the better #PLN365
A4 Is it really a weakness? I seek out the like minded colleagues like my fabulous new ICR partner. Both of my partners and I believe in edification and the class environments show it. I admitted they problem, and though hurdles are out, like attracts like and voila! #PLN365
