The #INeLearn hashtag is used for both asynchronous sharing and synchronous conversations. Include #INeLearn in your tweets if you want to share resources or questions with Indiana educators and school leaders. Asynchronously, the #INeLearn hashtag provides educators across the state of Indiana a central space for sharing. On Thursday evenings beginning at 8 CST/9 EST when you use the #INeLearn hashtag, you are joining a live conversation--the #INeLearn Twitter Chat. For one hour, we interact in real time having a virtual discussion.

Hello. Tom from the frozen tundra of Northwest Indiana. Principal for the greatest students, staff, and community anyone could ask for. The last book I read was Target by James Patterson #INeLearn
Diana here from #EastPorterCo and DOE Office of eLearning! The last education book I read was Culturize by @casas_jimmy. I just finished reading Born to Run today as well. Looking forward to starting Reclaiming Our Calling by @GustafsonBrad next! #INeLearn
Hi! I'm Alisha Foor, Tech Coach for the School City of Hammond #schk12. Currently reading Learning Supercharged with the #ETCoaches group! Happy to be able to join this evening! #INeLearn
Steve in Valpo, Math /PLTW. Most recent read is "The Grace of Enough" by @HaleyCarrots. Hoping to shake off Cabin fever with my #inelearn people tonight.
Hi friends! Kevin from @LCHSBears in Indianapolis. Currently 13 and snowing. Last Ed book I read was @PrincipalKafele “Closing The Attitude Gap” #INeLearn
A1: I became an educator because I loved history & I thought everyone else loved it too! LOL. My first class proved me wrong very quickly but that was just a challenge for me to make them see how great it could be! #schk12#INeLearn
A1 My inspiration to teach middle school math was my 7th grade math teacher, Mr. Love. He made learning math fun. I had the pleasure of teaching 7th grade math in the same room I had him too. #INeLearn
I love the @INeLearn Instagram takeover and how it lets us get to know your school ! Who are we going to learn from this Spring? Your school? #inelearn

R1: I’ve always answered “a teacher” when asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I’ve always just known. But I’m sure my amazing elementary teachers helped. #INeLearn
A3: Whenever I am feeling low on inspiration I always go back to my PLN's. Twitter, Google+, my real life colleagues who are inspirational to me. Or my favorite is to go into a classroom where the magic is happening! #schk12#INeLearn
R1: I had so many amazing teachers going through school, both k-12 and higher ed. As far back as I have memories, I remember wanting to be a teacher. It was never a question! #INeLearn
Tutored HS math students while I was in college. They learned, I loved it. That and two great parents and a few inspiring teachers along the way. #inelearn
A3. I'm with @arfoor85 on the classroom one. I'm an instructional coach and when I need refueled, I find a classroom where there are great things happening! #inelearn
R1: I used to kid that the #schk12 was the family business. When it came time to make a career change all I had to do was look around. My brother was a civilian instructor for the Navy, my mom a school nurse, my mother-in-law a teacher. Went back to school & here I am. #inelearn
A2 - I try my best to inspire others by showing up every day with a positive attitude ready to take on the world. Whatever the day may bring, inspire through consistent servant leadership & showing gratitude often!
#INeLearn
A2 I try to use that inspiration by making school as fun as possible. If you can't have fun why do it? Learning should be fun, not something to dread. #INeLearn
R2: Making the teaching profession personal. Kids used to think teachers lived only in the schools, not in real life. Being accessible and approachable about school and more #INeLearn
R2: I try to do things in my classroom that allow students to learn without them believing they are learning. I believe that if my Ss are having fun without them thinking they are having to work inspires them to want to learn and come to my classroom. #INeLearn
A2: I try to lead by example. I don't ask Ts to do anything that I am not modelling or trying first. I also try to meet everyone at their level of experience w/tech. #INeLearn#schk12
A2: My inspiration always leads back to being kind and positive. This is something I try to live each day professionally and personally. I want to inspire others to also be kind and positive always. #INeLearn
A2: This school year, I have tried to share what's in my head with others through my blog. I also feel like having great colleagues inspire me to make great work. #INeLearn
A2: #INeLearn I try to envision what I want to see in my own kiddos future- this vision fuels my own passion for learning (in and out of the classroom) and inspires me to work out of my comfort zone, grow professionally, take risks, and collaborate with others
A2: There is so much power in relationships and I think it’s really neat to see students inspiring one another - whether this is with Buddy classrooms, mystery Skype connections, students to student mentors. Students can have a big impact on each other #inelearn
R2: In my role, I really work to support and protect teacher creativity. I also work to openly learn and take risks both personally and professionally. My hope is that everyone sees themselves as a creator and a learner! #INeLearn
A2: I believe it is in actions. By showing others you care and are there to support them. Working side by side is important. I also think being positive even when it is difficult to do so. #INeLearn
R2: There's so much incredible stuff that I pick up, I just try to share that with my IRL colleagues, and try to pick up what I can from them. Learning is inspiring to me, and definitely contagious! #INeLearn
A2: I'm not trying to inspire others. I choose to be positive because it makes me enjoy my job that much more! I guess my hope is that it rubes off on others! #INeLearn
A3 - By staying connected. INALI (cohort#5) group @INPrincipals and relatively new Twitter PLN has been marvelous a resource to refill my inspiration bucket!
#INeLearn
A3 I know it sounds cliche but it is the kids. Seeing a smile on their faces because they are enjoying being at school is what keeps me going. #INeLearn
#ineLearn We learn on a daily basis outside of the classroom by our own observations of the world around us. I can then bring those observations back into the classroom to share with my students.
R3: I try to find something new that I can teach my kids that will get them fired up. When I see excitement about something I can teach them, that gets me inspired. #INeLearn
A3: Whenever I am feeling low on inspiration I always go back to my PLN's. Twitter, Google+, my real life colleagues who are inspirational to me. Or my favorite is to go into a classroom where the magic is happening! #schk12#INeLearn Reposting..think I jumped questions before.
A3: I look at what others are doing and see how I can incorporate their great strategies. I use my Twitter PLN, our team has a monthly show and tell where we share a cool thing we worked on in a course. #INeLearn
R3: Working side by side with Ts to support them and find creative solutions to things- that's an awesome feeling. And of course, my PLN and PLF (personal learning family) #INeLearn
R3: I think 3 things do it for me:
1) I love to read, not necessarily "edu books" only.
2) watch other people who are good at what they do, do what they do
3) accomplish something outside the classroom ( a clean house or 3 days a week of running)
#INeLearn
MIRACLE - that is my ALL TIME go to inspirational speech! Played it for my AP Calc students to rev up for the AP exam. "You were born to be (an AP Calc Student)" "This is YOUR time." @ChrisGabriel02#inelearn
A3: Collaborating with others is where I draw my inspiration. This week presented some challenges with -20 temps, but working with my coach team as well as all of my teachers refilled my inspo bucket. #INeLearn
R3: I get my inspiration from others I admire and respect. I continually look for ways of improving my own practices which makes me feel good. Learning from others who are inspired get me excited too! #INeLearn
A4: Once again @yellingwithlove is amazing. She never stops learning and is willing to go along with my crazy ideas even if I am only 80% sure they will work. #INeLearn
A4: Too many to name, but a big one would be all of the lovely folks that take part in the #INeLearn chats! I don't always participate, but I love to creep!
A5 -Technology = game changer!
Communication, accessibility, communication, delivery methods, communication, information, and more communication options.
Did I mention communication?
#INeLearn
R5: SBCSC went 1:1 this past August and it has been so awesome to be a part of the transition. Students have the whole world at their fingertips and they’re beginning to learn that. 😍 #INeLearn
A5: This week is a great example! While surviving the #PolarVortex this week we have had 4 eLearning Days. Our Ts are using tech to reach Ss in their homes & keep them learning during the cold! #schk12#INeLearn It levels the playing field.
R5: Tech can give Ts and Ss the tools they need to CREATE! It can empower Ts to create content and curate content and share content. Let's us tailor our classroom experiences. Ts know what their Ss need. Technology allows curriculum to be forever flexible. #INeLearn
R5: technology has played a role in engaging students. I have seen a change from 186 and 286 processor computers when I taught in the 90s to Chromebooks, iPads, etc. Where will things be in 5-10 years? #INeLearn
A5: Holy moly, I think I need longer than a few minutes to do this Q justice. In short, tech has made us all more connected. We couldn't have pulled off this week without it. However, it isn't all about tech. Good teaching is good teaching. #INeLearn
R5: 2nd year of 1:1 in the VCS and so many teachers are leveraging the power to help their students create, collaborate, knock down classroom walls, gather, share & analyze data... it's been pretty awesome to see. Exhibit A is the short-notice eDays this week. #inelearn
A6 - Technology constantly evolves. Thankfully we have an incredible infrastructure that keeps up, but our district has overcome some tech. challenges by having 1 common, consistent vision. We tend to have a slow, thorough approach that is mindful of future challenges.
#INeLearn
A5: Technology has allowed everyone to view lesson planning with a different lens. Engagement, objectives, thoughtful implementation/integration, communication, the list goes on and on. #INeLearn
A6 One of the biggest challenges for technology is when Ss are not able to use it at home due to lack of internet. We allow Ss to stay after or come in early to do their work. We also have amazing Ts that will do what they can to provide paper copies if necessary. #INeLearn
A6: #INeLearn Trial and error, Ts flexibility, community support, communication, innovation- it truly is a changing, evolving, tool that must be evaluated each year!
A6: It is a work in progress everyday. We are changing the culture of how we teach and what we teach. It's just making people feel comfortable, showing them that mistakes are going to happen, & working together! Tech integration is a slow transition. #schk12#INeLearn
When I moved to Indiana the school I started teaching at was going away from textbooks and they were using all online texts. I was surprised and not sure what I thought about it. As time went on I got used to and did enjoy the technology and I think it really helped #INeLearn
A6: one of the biggest challenges we had was switching LMS. We have faculty and students two years to transition from OnCourse to Canvas. Two years where they could be using both at the same time. #INeLearn
A6: I can honestly say, especially with the weather this week, it is coming together as a team. It is EVERYONE working together. Teachers, coaches, and admin. The behind the scenes work to ensure success for students is never ending and always ongoing. #INeLearn
For real. Having watched kids google search for answer keys to all their other class assignments when I taught in a computer lab, it's hard to overstate how hard teachers worked to re-imagine their assignments to give students a chance to discover, create, & learn. #INeLearn
A1: my inspiration includes students, colleagues, and the opportunities ahead with deeper learning through technology as technology advances and is used in the classroom #INeLearn
A6: #INeLearn additionally, training, professional learning opportunities, and learning by DOING are ways to overcome the challenges that " pop up" with technology
Students were found looking up inappropriate website and the principal and parents were involved in the situation. It is also hard to know which students looked up the information. We had to have sign out sheets for the lab tops in our rooms after that. #INelearn
A7 I use a variety of different tools in GSuite. I have also begun exploring the use of @WeVideo and hope to be able to flip faculty meetings at some point in time. #INeLearn
Its a huge shift in mindset & culture. When people tell me that devices are classroom management issues I always ask to see what they are having students do. I can usually pinpoint where we can make some tweeks to get that discovery & creation. #INeLearn#schk12
A7: it’s principles, such as @TILTHigherEd and @CAST_UDL. Technology is always changing, but how we use it should be our best practice.
That being said, anything from @GoogleForEdu is pretty much awesome. #INeLearn
A2: I use my inspirations to help motivate and excite students and teachers-I try to use my excitement for the problems technology can solve by showing both students and teachers examples of tech problem solving, through PD and by supporting teachers in their lessons #INeLearn
R7: I'm a math guy and a huge @Desmos fanboy (not just for math anymore, BTW). I love how it lets studnets get hands-on with the math, makes their thinking visible to me & their classmates, & how it can create learning opportunities on sub days/eDays. #INeLearn
R7: I have learned so much and made many valuable connections with @Voxer (Sorry, late to the game, waiting for Purdue to get their act together in the PSU game) #INeLearn
A1: My mom. She was a high school teacher who taught Home Economics. She was an inspiration. I loved helping her check papers and get ready or the next year every Summer break! Thanks Mom! #Inelearn
A3: observe others and their awesomeness, whether it is Twitter, videos, podcasts, visiting other classes, or talking with others. Inspiration can be found anywhere and in the smallest things! #INeLearn
R7: #INeLearn Golly- so many tools! The biggest challenge is ensuring that the tool we are using is intentional, helps Ss reach the learning objectives, and gives Ts the ability to facilitate the learning.
A7: We are wanting to begin focusing on the hallmarks of an eLearning lesson rather than tools right now. I believe in the power of the instruction and instructional design first. As for a tool, personally I use G Suite DAILY! #INeLearn
A7: All things Google. So versatile for what I need to accomplish but also valuble for Ts and S. I love coming into a classroom and teaching Ts and Ss something new in Google! #INeLearn
Our CS T @PattyCushing used it with her Ss yesterday for our eLearning Day. She invited me & I have been thinking of ways to incorporate it in my PD sessions. The kids caught on quick & we even worked through some glitches w/them. #CSatACCU#INeLearn#schk12

WRAP IT UP - Tom & I started to blog, we both tweet regularly, he has a weekly interactive newsletter that goes out to the staff (good things he noticed this week), video announcements led by students & always open to adapt more ways to champion for the GOOD!
#INeLearn
That's one of the things I love about Activity Builder - I can custom-create activities, ask the questions I want, design student-centered lessons. Pretty much everything we are all trying to do right now. #INeLearn
A7: Google (thanks to @arfoor85 for helping make the transition) Screencastify has saved me literally hours of one-on-one housekeeping instruction. #inelearn
WIT: I’m a broken record today, I take to Twitter. However, this is where I feel we can do better as a building/district. We are doing AWESOME things, and we need to figure out how to share wider and more often! #inelearn
Wrap-up: Also, this year @yellingwithlove and I have used tons of technology to help our students in different buildings communicate with group members. #INeLearn
A5: technology has opened so many doors for all learners in our community by helping provide options that remove learning barriers, from assistive tech, to translation tools, to productivity #INeLearn
A5: technology and the ability to access resources and assignments at any time through our LMS @itslearning and Google Drive has helped decrease the homework gap #INeLearn

W/U: My big things right now are tweeting to the #teach180 and #iteachmath tags daily, and blogging weekly (ish) about what my students are doing and what I've learned. #INeLearn
A huge thank you to @tomstoner24 and @ChrisGabriel02 for moderating tonight. What a great conversation. Now, let's take on Friday tomorrow. (Please, mother nature!) #INeLearn
