    Anecdotal evidence:When I first started teaching (MS) I accidentally uncovered that the most avid, enthusiastic,& passionate readers had family members who still read TO them at home. Made a mental note for yrs later when I was a mom- Don't ever stop reading TO/with kids #ilachat

    A3:I am a big believer in creating spaces that Ss want to read in. Having a designated space to go & curl up with a book is important. Furniture arranged in a circular shape so Ss can talk w/ each other during discussions. It becomes more of a book club than a classroom. #ILAchat

      a4: read alouds are also a great way to bring in protagonists, cultures, traditions, and worlds that not every kid would be exposed to otherwise. You can let a kid be an expert who might otherwise not get a chance, or let a kid find a soul mate that isn't in your class. #ilachat
