Welcome to #gafechat. Introduce yourself by including where you are from, role in education, and share ‘What song describes your relationship with Google?’
Kelly, Austin, TX - HS Instructional Coach & #gafechat host - the song that describes my relationship with Google is Def Leppard's ‘Pour Some Sugar on Me’
A1 #gafechat I'd say a bureau, so many different drawers and cubbies, with different things to explore and discover and open (I'll brb as my dinner just beeped) ;-)
A1: I would compare Google to a set of legos, each person can have the same pieces (tools), but can put them together to create something different. #gafechat
It is so great to see so many regulars on our last Tuesday #gafechat. I am going to miss these times together, but am looking forward to our new way of collaborating weekly and with new people!
A1: a new phone...You get to have all the regular familiar things, but there are always new and exciting things to find! Oh..who am I kidding...that's me and my 3 year old phone too! #gafechat

A2: The answer I am sure many will give is #hyperdocs, but it is true! When hyperdocs are used as intended students have great ownership in their learning #gafechat
A1: Google Forms a thousand times over. What an opportunity to quickly formatively assess your students before, during, and after instruction. #gafechat
A2: hands down and GSuite apps ability to be SHARED! This one little feature is changing the way Ss approach learning. I’ve seen them share w/comment to their peers & Ts just for suggestions. Group work is easier too! ❤️ that blue button #gafechat
YES was a big day once students synced their school accounts on their phone, they would see GC assignments in the calendar, great way to post readings for AP Gov #gafechat
Check out the #hyperdoc website: https://t.co/joOfIaU0Ff - it is an interactive Google Doc (or slides) that allows students to engage with their learning in a unique way. #gafechat
A2: One of our teachers @1roUSe_Hjort is using Autocrat with Google Forms - S submits short answer response and he autocrats a doc with his response for them to compare. #gafechat
A3 #gafechat Ss can show creativity with Draw, collaborate with drive, present with Slides, show what they learned with forms and Ts have an easy place to organize it all
A3: Google Culture Institute Art Project section allows students to walk around and explore museums from around the world. https://t.co/f9vDnphgDR#gafechat
A3. I love the opportunity students and teachers have to share and comment on all docs. great collaboration. I've been giving students a ton of real time feedback this year as students are working. #gafechat
A2: Google calendar...learners of all ages need a way to stay organized and on track with responsibilities. (Loving new calendar update so far!) #gafechat
A3: COLLABORATION! My passive aggressive self takes all the office files shared with me and uploads them as G-native files. I share with the sender and make them the owner...No more static files! #gafechat
A3: Google Expeditions! Just launched in district...Just last week, we’ve taken kids to inside teepee and to a pow wow , to Macy’s Day Parade, & more. Some in district will never leave the city limits w/o this virtual experience. #gafechat
A4 #gafechat I'll give 2: I loooove Goobric and Doctopus (fun to say too) for Classroom collection of assignments to use a online rubric to grade digitially from @rmbyrnehttps://t.co/MsX6A1QNGU
A4: Google Voice, going to try this out next semester. I'd rather give a psudo-phone number to others than my real cell phone. I'm happy to help, just don't like everyone passing my personal number around. #gafechat
#gafechat also great as an emergency number on field trips, for job apps/references for students, also for students to call in and leave VM's for exit tickets

A4: I'm going to cry google form again. check this particular tool within google forms out. Rubrics made easy with Forms! https://t.co/zTqDjPVPQ2#gafechat
I have a Google Voice number, but can't remember it. So I put it as a contact in my phone, but now find it awkward telling someone that I need to look up my # when with them. #gafechat
A5: Changing orientation in Google Slides to create product similar to Publisher. More freedom to create, add pics, etc...Make newsletters, interactive resources, versatility for creativity #gafechat
A6: Make it a no hand raised environment when asking questions.Use the random name picker from Flippity when calling on students. https://t.co/LV62AOjAl4#gafechat
A6: Call on students the basketball way: randomly call on S1 for answer, then S2 for answer, then S3 must say who agrees with and why or provides diff answer and why #gafechat
A7: Google allows me to access my information from anywhere in the world from any device. I was in Japan & was able to instantly share files with teachers back in US #gafechat
A7: Since all Google educators are so willing to share, and Google makes sharing easy it has been the community of educators, my PLN, that encourage, inspire, push, and drive me to be better for my Ss, Ts, and myself #gafechat
A7: @google removes the classroom walls while encouraging real-time/shared collaboration anywhere in the world. Free resources, tools and opportunities which impact classroom instruct & enhance learner experience #gafechat
#gafechat has been in existence for 3 years & I am so thankful for all who have participated in our bi-monthly chats. I am going to miss our Tuesday chats, but am excited about the new WEEKLY #gafechat SLOW chat (starting 2018).
