Sometimes things cannot be seen or visited, but with AR (and VR) Ss can experience things they never have before...like with Merge ObjectViewer. #ARVRinedu
A1 When students are able to manipulate objects and situations around then, they are more likely to connect experiences and remember concepts taught #ARVRinEDU
A2 AR introduces another method for teachers to connect with students & students to connect to concepts. No longer limited to learning by only reading or hearing, AR makes it easier to learn by doing. #ARVRinEDU
Ss unwilling to download apps or even wear the head sets. They do like @hpreveal and @MetaverseApp AR stuff. Next year there is a ban on cell phones school wide. That’ll be a big obstacle. #ARVRinEDU
#ARVRinedu A3 There have been several. I solved the money problem by writing a grant to get a Google Expedition Kit... Then, my school district would only allow iPods to be used which created a whole other set of problems.
Q4 If any of you experts among us have had success in sustaining an ARVR program from year to year, what are some things you recommend for success?

I don't do a lot of work in the K12 classroom environment, but other than money, I would say that parental concern is a big obstacle. Not everyone believes in AR/VR..or trusts the technology. A parent not-in-the-know of the tech will ask about safety. #ARVRinEDU
#ARVRinedu A3 part 2. Every single app we use has to be submitted in a long process for approval, and we aren't allowed to download anything... The IT person has to do it. Our school district won an award for security, but anything ARVR is time-consuming before ever being used🙁

I had them make AR games using at @MetaverseApp. Some used Storyfab to make a 3D story (or attempt to) about digestion. A few toured various body systems to learn about them via google Expeditions. #ARVRinEDU
Thank you for joining us tonight for our chat. Thank you to all of you who participated. I appreciate all that you do to help bring AR to our classrooms.
