A2 PL empowers Ss to be advocates for their learning needs, partnering with the T to ensure they master the standards - all w/in an authentic environment which requires students to transfer their learning to new situations & prepares them for their future. #techtalkga

A6. I feel like I can use digital tools to mutliply myself as a learning facilitator. Without them, I feel more limited on the guidance and coaching I can provide. With digital tools, the paths I offer learners are unique, customizable, and boundless.

Although since seeing @jcasap at #GaETC17, I have to agree with him that the idea of teacher as facilitator isn't ideal.
Facilitators are refs, uninvolved the outcome.
Ts are more like coaches or mentors, they WANT someone to win!

We are doing something similar with our 3rd graders and the Tech Fair coming up. Genius Hour/Passion Projects where they decide the topic, process and tools needed to accomplish the goal. Trying to get them out of thinking they need the Ts to think for them!

A6: I think it's important to provide students experience with a variety of creation and collaboration tools to help personalize learning. Once they have experience they can choose what best fits for them. Sticking kids on a "personalized" program is not enough. #TechTalkGA
I love this and agree, @drmcgaughy! I found students to be most easily empowered when I gave them a variety of choices/options to illustrate their learning digitally. It's a simple step, but it accomplishes so much #TECHTalkGA
