A2 many of these are blocked at school sites I visit. @MrsMJ1218 actually shared w/me that a friend of hers works in a district that's completely blocked @google. fear of loss of control I suppose... #EdTechAfterDark
A2: yes! Chairs that track how often a student gets up, printers that order toner/paper when it gets low, backpacks that notify attendance program when Ss arrive in class, I love it all! #edtechafterdark
Shared the calendar with everyone's email addresses. Gave grandparents view rights, everyone in the house has edit rights. Email is added to mine & my wife's phones. #EdTechAfterDark

A2: So many great health apps now; to help educate Ss on current steps, heart rate, etc. Hall passes, attendance, etc. Great tools to help educate and increase efficiency in education #EdTechAfterDark
Hahaha! I’m the campus communication rep for my school and am in charge of keeping our twitter and FB updated daily—but I’m not allowed to access FB to do it, so I have to do it at home or using my own cell data. #edtechafterdark

A3 Let's be clear: IOT isn't making devices more intelligent, it is allowing them to communicate more data. This adds conveniences for users. My Nest thermostat keeps my house comfy but won't put the HVAC guy out of a job... #edtechafterdark
It’s our duty as educators to develop skills in our kids that will keep them ahead of the game at all times. Teaching ss soft skills, fostering leadership & creativity will help them regardless of the path technology takes #EdTechAfterDark

Yes! It is more critical now than ever that we teach our students how to think critically and the process of learning, rather than just the content! Machines can look up the content! #EdTechAfterDark
I use Keynote on my Mac and just export the Keynote files as videos, which will play all animations and transitions. Then I use @giphy capture to screengrab a few seconds to loop. #EdTechAfterDark

A4: I saw a commercial where they put a tracking device on fresh fish. Measures temp & location to make sure it stays fresh throughout the transport. Are we teaching Ss about things like this? #EdTechAfterDark

Do we need support or do we need collaboration & creation? I've been using sandbox time where Ss & Ts learn tech through discovery & sharing. Way more powerful than our old "How To" sessions. #edtechafterdark

Agreed! We've brought authors and experts into our classes through Skype of Google Hangout (Meet). So powerful. Also Ss love Mystery Skype. #EdTechAfterDark

A3: I think jobs will continue to shift heavily into computer programming, coding, etc. Humans will still need to be there to program, so if one is smart, look for a career in that field. #edtechafterdark
When introducing a new app, have Ss open and play w/ it for 5 min. Next 5 min they share what they discovered. Then intro the learning objective / lesson. #EdTechAfterDark
