#tlap I always begin the year with reflection: how much has happened since the last year... With my sons, I now reflect how much they have grown since last year too!
A1) Getting rest but taking the time to get things ready. School years are like seasons for me, take care of body, mind, self, and staying disciplined. #TLAP

A1: I clean and organize (emptied out the old from the dresser) to get things in order for the new year. This year I’ve also been reading and getting energized to return to school. #tlap

A1: Reflecting on the past year, recognizing my struggles and successes. Setting goals to continue growing and learning! Also cleaning my bedroom and classroom. lol #Tlap

A1: Establishing my #oneword2018 provides focus and direction for my year. I'm focused on being the best I can be while helping others reach their own greatness with my new word for 2018: Bestness #tlap#leadlaphttps://t.co/JN3HEBGpIR
Happy New Year!
A1: I like to reflect on my one word from the previous year, and revisit my blog posts. I try to have a new word/focus by New Year's Eve each year. Oh...and
Black eyed peas, cabbage, hog jowl, cornbread (southern girl)
#tlap#JoyfulLeaders
A1: My #oneword is connect (both in person and via Twitter) And i like to reflect on what ive done so far, and how i plan to move forward with the rest of the year #tlap
A1: I like reflecting on what I accomplished the previous year & setting goals for the new year! More of a to-do list & less of a resolution! I find that writing it down helps me focus on accomplishing new things! #tlap
A1: We are on block, so I will get all new students this week. I try to add something new to my classes every semester - last semester it was a video of the day. #tlap
A1: The first thing I do is reflect on the past year’s objectives. Then, I set 2018 objectives (both personal & professional) and share them with accountability buddies. #tlap
A1: This year my wife & I set realistic goals instead of trying to be too lofty to just fail 4 Days in (like I usually do 😳) — Like... “No more Dr. Pepper”... yeah right!! #tlap
A1. First house must be spotless NYE so on NYD it starts clean. Dinner we eat black eye peas and Brussels sprouts and discuss our accomplishments and our fails. Then we come up with resolutions. This year we each came up with one word!
#tlap A 1: Kids come back Wed. tomorrow, I am going in to ready my classroom! I didn't take down our Christmas door decoration or put up my Jan. calendar. I'll probably put out arrival activities, too. When Ss arrive, procedures/expectations!!

In reply to
@tishrich, @burgessdave, @burgess_shelley
A1: I haven't set a word or goal so much this year. I'm balancing a bit with professional and personal life so I'm cognizant of not overwhelming myself w/ fads and prioritizing what's best for students and my family 🙂 #tlap
A1: If I can bring myself to get out of my bathrobe by noon, I honestly just can't wait to hug and high five my students again. I miss those kids like crazy! #tlap
A1: I want to try out an EDU-protocol that I learned from @jmattmiller#DitchSummit from @Joncorippo . I want to do the one where kids come in and take quiz every day to start class and then we fill in the gaps. "I quiss beacuse i Care" #tlap
A1: Determine my 1-Word focus for the year.
F inalize your goal
O rder your plans
R isk failing by taking action
W elcome mistakes
A dvance based on your character
R evaluate your progress continually
D evelop new strategies to succeed
#FORWARD#oneword2018#leadlap#tlap
Q2: Goals and resolutions are great!! To us, a bucket list is something a little different. What is different...and maybe powerful...about creating a bucket list? #tlap
Yes! This is my mantra as well for the new year! BALANCE. Need to get back on track with taking care of myself... Daily walks are good for body and soul! #tlap
Scrapbooking! I love that! I used to be a Creative Memories consultant a million years ago. Love, love, love the stories behind the photos! Such a treasure for you and your family! #tlap
A1: I like to start the year out being open to seizing new experiences and opportunities. I want to say yes more to things that might have scared me in the past. #tlap
Answer 1: reflection on what worked, the willingness to change what I need to, and the ability to try new and innovative ways of engaging students #tlap
A1: We have had three weeks off, I usually try to find a fun activity to get the kids back into gear. In the past, I have the kids design posters or create graphics. I am still looking for something fun for next Monday. #tlap
A1: I try not to do anything earth shattering in the new year. Instead, I try to be just a little bit better than I was yesterday. After 365 days of doing this, I have seen slow, incremental improvements in my routines, mindfulness, reading habits, and #productivity#tlap
A1B- my one word is CALM. I don't have to do it all. I don't have to say yes to everything. I have a couple of goals for this year and I am not committing to anything big until I meet those goals. #tlap
A1: Don't know that is call it a routine, but reflect on what's happened in the past year and what I should strive for in the upcoming semester/year. #tlap
A1: MY one word is Light… It covers so many aspects of my life… I want to shed LIGHT on what I don’t know… I want to add a LIGHT heartedness and joy to my classroom and I want to be LIGHT and agile in learning new things in 2018 #TLAP
A2: Bucket Lists are things that may not be immediate and might not seam right for where you are right now... but you definitely want to do it. Out of the Box #tlap
A1: Trying to decide my #oneword for 2018, watching football, black-eyed peas and cabbage, and sleeping as late as I can before going back to work. #tlap
A2: A goal is something you work towards and would like to meet to progress personally or professionally. A bucket list item is usually something that challenges you or pushes you to get better. #tlap
A2: Tangible. I think the actual process of knowing these are things I want to check off not just hope for. They are longer term. Resolutions tend to be one year long a bucketlist seems like there is no limit. #tlap
Q2: Goals and resolutions are great!! To us, a bucket list is something a little different. What is different...and maybe powerful...about creating a bucket list? #tlap
Hi #tlap! Megan, instructional coach from IL. Joining in late. A1: I’m very happy that I completed my #365EDUcoaching goal from 2017. New goal: inspire more educators in my ISTE session to create their own 50, 100, or 365 day project. One word is below:
My #oneword2018 is YOGA. Yoga helps me with balance, stress, and everything else going in my professional and personal life. I should have practiced yoga more in 2017, but I didn't. It's time to improve on that! #educoach#adechat#AppleEDUchat
A2: It's almost expected to abandon resolutions, and goals tend to be relatively short-term. Bucket list items are life-long pursuits...things we make sacrifices for. I need a bucket list... #tlap
A2: I see a bucket list as something that you want to complete within your lifetime. A goal is some you want to accomplish within a set time period. #tlap
A2: To me a "bucketlist" are those once in a life time experiences. Like meeting Jason David Frank the original Green Ranger in person and talking. That is a moment than: "I paid my gas bill" #tlap
A2: A bucket list is more than just obtainable goals. A bucket list allows you to dream and keeps your spirit of adventure going, truly reflecting that of a lifelong learner. Something we as Ts want our own Ss to do. #tlap
a2. To me, a bucket list is a list of life enrichment experiences. Goals are systematic, planned and articulated. A bucket list is for seizing opportunities as they present themselves. #tlap
A2 #tlap
I feel like a bucket list is less demanding and more inspiring. I can’t articulate it just right but it feels like the constant carrot. My bucket list is being recreated this month. It’s been a rough 14 months and yea... bucket lists... I feel are more hopeful.
A2 Goals are often guided by messages from outside ourselves—things we think we should already be doing based on some external definition of success. Bucket lists are guided by our values: what we want to do to love be meaningful lives. #tlap
Q2: Goals and resolutions are great!! To us, a bucket list is something a little different. What is different...and maybe powerful...about creating a bucket list? #tlap
Q2: Goals and resolutions are great!! To us, a bucket list is something a little different. What is different...and maybe powerful...about creating a bucket list? #tlap
A2: A “Bucket List” is a long term dream or hope. For me, a goal is more immediate and has specific timelines. I set goals to get things done and move the needle. #tlap
A2:
Resolution-->I'm sucking at something and I need to be better
Bucket List -->an EXPERIENCE I want to be a part of usually driven by passion
#tlap#LeadLAP
A2: Bucket lists seem like something that can span your lifetime. No shame in not completing them within a shortened time frame. Extended goals give so much opportunity for self-reflection. #tlap
Q2: Goals and resolutions are great!! To us, a bucket list is something a little different. What is different...and maybe powerful...about creating a bucket list? #tlap
So true, Amy! I've spent all break prepping 6 conference presentations in the next 2 months across Texas! Living the seeds planted from 2017 😆 #tlap#onedayatatime
A2: Bucket List = bigger than a goal it is a goal infused or amplified with dreams, desires, wonder and passions -- something that is extraordinary. #tlap
A2: Bucket list items tend to be a longer list, and more of things I want to do/places I want to see. Goals and resolutions are what changes to habits we want to make. Example, a bucket list item of mine is to write a book, my Resolution is to write everyday. #tlap#TeachWrite
Q2: Goals and resolutions are great!! To us, a bucket list is something a little different. What is different...and maybe powerful...about creating a bucket list? #tlap
A2: Bucket list moments are those unforgettable moments & experiences. People have a lot of goals & a lot of resolutions; bucket list items are special & irreplaceable #tlap
A2: The cool thing about a bucket list is it doesn’t need a timeline. When it happens... it’s like being the 🤩 star at the party you’ve always been waiting for! #tlap
A2: Bucket lists are fun... they aren't the typical practical resolution type goals. They are the wild, crazy, fun, cool stuff you just want to do to live life to its fullest. #tlap
A1: I think about the previous year and how I can take what I learned and apply it to 2018. Writing down my resolutions this year and mapping out where I want to be schoolwise the rest of the year. Intrigued by #OneWord2018 too; haven't heard of it before! #tlap
A2) A bucket list item is a 'one-off' type of deal, a goal or resolution should be a lasting habit...but if said bucketlist item creates a lasting change, well then now we are talking! #TLAP
A2: For me, a bucket list includes joy, anticipation, exhilaration, jubilation... a resolution/goal is something to work towards and can share some attributes, but completing a bucket list item? Pure bliss! #tlap
Q2: Goals and resolutions are great!! To us, a bucket list is something a little different. What is different...and maybe powerful...about creating a bucket list? #tlap
#tlap A bucket list to me is created from optimistic ideas, accomplishments to conquer rather than changes that you want to make-a future endeavor not an immediate update
Q2: Goals and resolutions are great!! To us, a bucket list is something a little different. What is different...and maybe powerful...about creating a bucket list? #tlap
Hey #tlap & @burgessdave I am Marian Hough from NC. I teach 8th grade Social Studies. My bucket list item I crossed off was exploring Boston! A “must go” place for an American History teacher! #tlap#experientiallearning
A2: I ❤️ the Bucket List approach!! I believe you can establish multiple tasks that you want to complete or achieve! You find success when you can cross something off & gives you something else to work towards! #tlap
A2: My goals are usually things I set out to attain in a specific amount of time. My bucket list becomes my list of "somedays" and may become a goal at some point.
#tlaphttps://t.co/hGMIo56dCJ
Q2: Goals and resolutions are great!! To us, a bucket list is something a little different. What is different...and maybe powerful...about creating a bucket list? #tlap
A2: goals are reachable because of hard work and dedication; a bucket list is something you've always wanted to do and feel an amazing sense of fulfillment when you've done it. reaching goals are also great but a very different feeling from a bucket list item #tlap
A2 Bucket list item is a way for me to check something out. To see if I enjoy the activity or challenge. A goal or resolution is a way to hold myself accountable. #tlap
A2 Lists are just plain old fun to check off. You can do it all at once, skip around. I have mine hanging by my desk to constantly remind me there are so many fun things to try! #tlap
A2: Resolutions can often be just word or desires. My bucket list challenges me to live life to the fullest by reminding of all the things I want to achieve. #tlap
A2. Bucket lists are are more objective. There is usually an easy may to measure attainment. Resolutions tend to be a little more subjective and over a longer period of time. #tlap
Q2: Goals and resolutions are great!! To us, a bucket list is something a little different. What is different...and maybe powerful...about creating a bucket list? #tlap
A2: Bucket items are good to have. Their product goals. I think its better thought to have process goals. I want to write a book this year vs I want to write at least 1000 words in my blog a week. #tlap
A2 bucket lists not under a time frame specifically, I dream big on a bucket list, but goals are small steps, tangibles that hold me more accountable #tlap
A2: Goals and resolutions to me are things I try to accomplish because I'm unhappy with something, but bucket list items are things I would be excited to accomplish! I mean who doesn't like crossing things off of lists!?
#tlap
Q2: Goals and resolutions are great!! To us, a bucket list is something a little different. What is different...and maybe powerful...about creating a bucket list? #tlap
A2 it is the power of "Choice". A bucket list is a to-do list. It is the optional journey we choose to go on and, how great is that feeling when you cross of that item to be done? Or that moment of FIERO when you conquer the most difficult task! #TLAP
A2: Bucket List is about the moment...got me thinking that if there is to be a goal list, it should look more like a Bucket List & less like a To Do List 🤔 #TLAP
A2: a bucket list represents lifetime goals. No timelines attached, but the list helps to make decisions that lead to those goals. Eyes on the prize #tlap
Yes!!!! #tlap@burgessdave
On my bucket list is to stand barefoot in Ireland again. To feel the sun on my face at the Cliffs and the grass between my toes. This will happen after I cross off the win lottery line on my bucket list. 😂
A1: No routine this year. Pushing myself way beyond my comfort zone by focusing more on transparent leadership through daily video reflection. #tlap#pln365
A2. For a bucket list, it has a longer period of time to accomplish some crazy things compared to a resolution which is a wanted change that we make in oneself. #tlap
Q2: Goals and resolutions are great!! To us, a bucket list is something a little different. What is different...and maybe powerful...about creating a bucket list? #tlap
A2 #tlap A bucket list is a list of things you'd like to do, places you'd like to see, etc. Life plans. Goals are more immediate. Ex: Bucket list-I'd like to have a horse again (Might not be attainable) Goal: 90% my PreK Ss will know the letter sounds by the end of the year.
A2: Reaching a goal is the result of a series of steps or actions taken to improve or reach over time, whereas a bucket list provides single experiences to bring awe and wonder to your life..both of which are important and meaningful #tlap
Bucket List items are those big things I'd like to do/achieve. Resolutions are the things I break by Jan. 5. I don't do resolutions, due to my experience with them. #tlap
Very interesting! I feel the opposite. I feel the pressure of a resolution more regularly because it is over longer period of time. I feel less "anxiety" over bucket list because they are usually planned and "checked off." #tlap
A2- events vs behaviors
Bucket list seems like an event- “one day I’d like to...”
Resolutions are behaviors for me.
Could a behavior lead to an event? Sure. #tlap
A2: hmmm...? I don’t have a bucket list but I set goals for myself on a regular basis but I’m thinking of creating a formal bucket list that would be more specific activities for fun versus professional goals #tlap
Q2: Goals and resolutions are great!! To us, a bucket list is something a little different. What is different...and maybe powerful...about creating a bucket list? #tlap
A2: Resolutions are often changes that you make within yourself. Bucket lists seem to be more experiences and activities that make a difference. One isn't necessarily better than the other, just different. #tlap
A2: Bucket lists are EPIC! They create the inner you and are foundational to your life story. Goals get you from point A to B on the road to your bucket list items/experiences. #tlap

Resolutions/goals are steps toward the bucket list! #tlap
