#NBCTchatter exists to promote accomplished teaching practices based on the research of the National Board of Professional Teaching standards and the experience of NBCTs. Our goal is to highlight our teacher leaders and give them a platform to talk about the practices, strategies, and plans that help prepare our students for life beyond our classrooms – becoming college and career ready.

A1: I model goal setting for Ss. This year I’m designing a mega display that shows students what goals I set and the timeline of how I’m obtaining my goals. Also, I’m giving out a goal setting packet with GOs for students to fill in with their targets. #hubofschool

#NBCTchatter A2: I communicate with mentors and do check-ins with my ideas. The President has their cabinet, I too have a set of advisors. I encourage kids to find their own safety net of people who want to see them succeed. Seek out experts! Let your work speak for itself!
#NBCTchatter I encourage students to record and reply to essential questions in their notebooks and use rubrics to know how close they are to the target.
#NBCTchatter A3: Seeking our resources is my greatest support strategy. Also, if a child is becoming discouraged, using literature therapy helps! I am always needing to reset the deadline when my BIG GOALS are to be done! #novelwriting#albumproducing

I adore #myoneword I didn’t even know it was a movement! I just started it with the IB learner profile in 2016-2017: Balanced, 2017-2018: Risk-taker, 2018-2019: Communicator! And my goals keep hitting milestones!
