A2 SS notebooks collect students' thinking, drawings and notes. It's a living journal of our different units
We do the same thing Paul. Much of our reflective work is becoming a blog post in many different forms.

Sci notebooks are a great resource for collecting evidence. It has to be modeled and practiced for students.

A4 We read a lot of current events in my classroom. We share articles from and other sources. We analyzed texts together.

I agree. Science is a great subjects to get kids to write but it takes practice for them to practice C.E.R.

Our librarian has been very helpful with either buying books or borrowing them for me. She also keeps a professional shelf for us.

It happens a lot...but we always used it as research points and discussions as to how the misconceptions happen

I love teaching the Westward Movement and The Civil War. So much opportunity for and great literature.
A8: Have always loved the economics of social studies...scarcity, supply/demand, etc. "The LawnBoy" by Paulson is a great read 4 it
I agree that it is a point of discussion with the students and how we have to be aware. Reputable sites
Have you seen the internet site about the explorers that is purposely inaccurate. Great teaching tool.
Supply/dmand makes for easy and relevant simulations as well :)

A9 My fave 5th grade NGSS science unit is Earth's Systems . Can use Drop of Water, Drop Around World, integrate social studies too
