A3: Provide lists of good books! Work with libraries to incentivize reading.

A3: We use our blogs extensively, so establishing reading lists and a good focus through directed posts for Ss

A5: The first one that comes to mind for my 3rd graders is The Ugly Vegetables. We learn the names in Chinese
Another great book is I Am David - a YA book which recounts a child survivor of the Holocaust. One of top ten favorite books
A5: Alma Flor Ada is an author that has written many great bilingual (Spanish/English) books.

A6: Getting out and seeing stuff that ties to books (when possible). Creator challenges. Movies. Choices fm active to passive.
All of Greg Tang's math books are gr8. 5th grade read Schooled helps Ss transition with middle school. Also a nostalgic read.
